I've been a previous patient of dr raber. Unfortunately due to my schedule not working with hers, I made an appointment to get a lab test from another dr reviewed and she "had a medical emergency." Whatever the case is, the office was supposed to follow up with me before I had a procedure done (whole reason I was going to dr raber before my procedure appointment) And now she doesn't see second opinion patients? Wtf.? VERY UNPROFESSIONAL I WILL NEVER GO BACK. read more

Went there a few times- but unfortunately it was not really a good experience. I was prescribed something strong for issues I did not have. Now dealing with problems that came up as a consequence of this prescription. I will not be going back, please be careful with what she prescribes, I regret not asking more questions or not consulting other doctors. read more

It's unfortunate to write a poor review of a doctor given we rely on their medical support. The administration is great. The nurse who saw me was professional and friendly. Unfortunately I had to witnessed how the doctor manages her staff quite poorly. I saw her briefly for no more than 10 min. I asked the receptionist to kindly give me more info about a referral she wanted me to see and she overheard our conversation and loudly told the receptionist about the details of my case and why i needed to see the referral. I wasn't even asking why i needed to see him but rather if he accepted my insurance. She then continued talking loudly about my case. The kind nurse noticed what was happening and asked me to go back inside to answer my remaining questions before i leave. Then later I saw through the app that she recorded on the medical notes that she saw me for 40 min!! Seriously absurd. What others have written about her limited schedule its true. My follow up visit was in a month and they kept calling me to pospone it even later. I am now symptomatic and needed to see immediately another gy. Now that Dr Raber's appointment was coming up, I received a message from her office letting me know that they have cancelled my appointment because i had done a procedure somewhere else. They even didn't consult with me if i needed to see her for other problems. I am giving her two stars because of the nice nurse and receptionist I met that day. read more

Dr. Raber is a wonderful doctor! Not only is she personable, thorough, and genuine, it's a pleasure having a female doctor who can truly relate to me and my current stage in life. Not that I don't mind sitting in a room full of pregnant women, not having a doctor who is an obstetrician feels like she truly specializes in me! I don't usually write reviews ever, but if there is anyone who deserves one - it's Dr.Julia raber. Dr. Raber is the most knowledgeable GYN , and overall doctor that I've ever been to. She sat with me and answered all my questions, making me feel extremely comfortable and welcome. The office is beautiful, and the wait time is almost non existent. The worse and zero caring obygyn I have ever had experience with. Absolutely a big NO. As a 53 years old woman, I visited her for the first time back on 3 weeks ago. We were 4 patients sitting in the waiting room to be called. I saw Dr. Raber came to the waiting room and was taking care of her plant for a few minutes. Then she was going back & forth with her staff to teach her how to change the TV channel. Then I was called in to be visited and once she appeared after 35 minutes, she did a very quick exam with no question about my menopause, any concerns to discuss, any difficulties, my past and present physical and sexual situation, whatsoever. Based on my complaint about abdominal blowing, she prescribed me to do sonography and then jumped into another room to visit another patient. At the end, when I went back to front desk, the Doctor forgot to write me down the mammogram prescription, my medication prescription and the sonography order. The front desk made me sure to fax my prescription to my pharmacy and after 3 1/2 weeks and leaving two messages with her staff that I need my medication, my pharmacy still has not received my prescription! very disappointed. read more

I found Dr. Raber by total accident when she was in the Marcus Ave location. She is SO ATTENTIVE,kind, compassionate and knowledgable. As a patient, is it very important to have a dr, especially a OGBYN, really care about her pts and answer the plethora of questions I have.She makes me feel comfortable, addresses my concerns and one thing i appreciate about her AND her staff, is when I've called with a question post office visit, I would get a reply. Many Drs would use any opportunity to just get you back in the office for another co-pay, but not here. It can be tedious to obtain appts at other offices, but not with Dr. Raber. There are no words to truly describe my gratitude for Dr Raber and her entire staff. I have been seeing Dr Raber for 10 years now (since I was 17) and have truly had nothing but the most pleasant experiences each and every time. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by her friendly helpful staff.. I have never had to wait like those other dr experiences (you all know what I'm talking about - when they think you have nothing better to do than waste your day in their office- hah!!) she is compassionate and very knowledgeable and a pleasure to chat with during each experience. Dr. Raber has been my doctor for well over 10 years. She also has about 10 of my friends as patients. I enjoy coming to her because she is always pleasant and for the normal check ups you're in and out. If another issue comes up Dr. Raber is there to help and to listen. She even took time out of her personal time to call me in the evening once to go over a blood test. She is super thorough and I beyond happy I have met her. I had an appointment today. Yet when I arrived (on time) the woman at the front desk said the Dr had left. I said "what? Why?" She shrugged "she had to leave". She was so unprofessional and really could not care less. She claimed they called me and read off some number that wasn't mine and again shrugged like "oh well". Now I know that was bull and they do indeed have my correct number because when I called to make the appointment the woman on the phone asked for my number and said "oh we have you in our system" so they absolutely DO have the correct number. The whole thing was just so unprofessional and I drove in traffic for almost an hour each way, complete waste of my time. I showed up and on time, the least you could do was CALL. read more

Dr. Raber is one of my favorite doctors and while it's not always pleasant to see your GYN, appointments with her are always so pleasant, from her amazing staff and knowledge of me as a patient, to the process and ability to talk to Dr. Raber about anything. I initially went to see Dr. Raber on July 20, 2015. She seemed lovely. She did a pap smear and told me that, I wouldn't hear anything unless there was any abnormality.Fast forward two months; I received a letter from her office telling me of an abnormality on my pap smear. I called and asked why it took so long to notify me but the receptionist had no answer. I was told to return for a procedure where they would take cells (done in her office) for pathology. My husband called and after several calls Dr, Raber returned his call. He explained that I was on a blood thinner and asked if this procedure should be done in a hospital? He asked what would happen if I began to bleed? Her response was "Well then it would be an emergency and we would have to call 911." She also hadn't done many of these procedures (maybe 1 per year for the past 10 years) on people who were on blood thinners. After speaking with my primary doctor, she referred me to a GYN Oncologist. He immediately sent me for an ultrasound and has scheduled a D and C. My husband called Dr. Raber back and after multiple calls, she finally called him back. When he asked why it took so long to notify me of this abnormal test, her response was "Well I've been very busy." I am an RN and know that this is an unacceptable answer. My future health may well have been impacted by her incompetence. I cannot fathom any possible excuse for her lack of attention, I have no intentions of ever seeing this doctor again. The doctor herself was very nice and not a problem. My issue is with a $554 bill received in the mail three weeks later from the lab they had sent my test to. This was supposed to be a visit to the doctors to obtain a birth control prescription, which I understand includes a pap smear. Having no insurance, of course I declined any additional tests, besides the routine pap exam. The "office manager", Sunita, was entirely bothered by my call when I wanted to know why I would be receiving such an extreme bill. She was very uncaring and not even trying to mask her annoyance and unsympathetic tone with me. I was being very reasonable, never raising my voice, yet I was told by her that I was getting angry and that I should have just asked her to try to negotiate the fee with the lab. After calling the lab, I was told that the doctor had ordered a complete profile of my test, including two HPV tests, and a chlymadia test, all of which were considered additional to the standard pap smear test, resulting in a higher bill than a standard test would have been. Called the office back, and received Sunita again, asked why the additional tests were there, and after several minutes of going in circles with this woman, she told me " Now heres my thing with you." and proceeded to tell me that "pap smears are important and the doctor did nothing wrong to not inform you that we require additional tests." Who says that to a confused, concerned patient with no insurance?? This doctor only prescribes birth control prescriptions for FIVE months. This is not state law. It is the doctors choice to try to get you to come back twice a year instead of once. At $250, out of pocket, since I have no insurance, this is no light fee. Topped with a $554 lab bill, I simply cannot afford $800 every six months to stay on birth control. The doctor's "office manager" Sunita is completely unsympathetic to any patient concerns on this subject, and really knows how to make a patient feel like they are a bother. A shame really, because the doctor herself, was very nice. But office staff often ruin the whole experience, making someone never want to return to the office. =( read more

Dr. Raber has been my GYN physician now for the last 3 years. I am writing this review because I have recently gone to see her twice in her new location in New Hyde Park. I'm happy to share i was very pleased with my visit. Upon arriving my first time, the office seemed very clean and organized. I was greeted immediately by the front desk receptionist who was very polite and pleasant. I was checked in promptly, and she was very thorough verifying my personal demographics and insurance information. I appreciated the extra 2 minutes she took to confirm my information because it assured me that chance of a future mistake being made would be minimal. I waited for about 10-12 minutes before being called in by the medical assistant. the medical assistant was very friendly, she sat me in an exam room and took a complete verbal medical history and vitals. She then instructed me on what to do while waiting and informed me that Dr. Raber would be in shortly. Minutes later, there was a knock at the door politely asking if she may enter and I was greeted by Dr. Raber. I LOVE this doctor! Not only was she very thorough in her exam but she took the time to explain everything she was going to do and check before doing so. She was informative and reassuring and I did not feel as though I was being rushed, which I have felt so many times in the past at other offices. After the exam, I was told to meet her in her office to discuss any further questions or concerns. This is a doctor a would absolutely recommend! Overall I was very pleased with this visit, from start to finish. I only wish that all of my doctor visits could be this pleasant. Dr. Raber is an exceptional physician who is clearly dedicated to the well being of her patients. I highly recommend this physician :)) read more
