Interesting little place located in the hell hole that is the Westgate Mall to get your sewing…read moremachine or vacuum cleaner fixed and to get various belts/parts/bags for your vacuum. Recently our Hoover stopped working and after deciding that while a new vacuum could be in order due to the age our current model, we would attempt the fix and repair route to save some $$$. I drove over to Westgate and after waiting for a few minutes while a guy bought some bags and a little old blue hair dropped off her sewing machine it was finally my turn and what a turn it was. The place is run by a husband/wife? combo and there son Jer was there. Now I say Jer because I don't know his name but dad kept referring to him only in rapid fire sucession as Jer He talks like Joe Pesci in Lethal Weapon 4. Every two seconds it was: "Jer we gotta do this" "Jer we gotta plug this in" "Jer get me some of this" "Jer get me some of that" and so on. It was comical yet maddening as his son talked about as much as Teller and looked exacerbated by dad's machine gun mouth. But getting back to the story, the vacuum got it's new belts and filter with the total time involved being less than 15 minutes. I thoroughly recommend this place for a job well done and for the sheer comedic value. (Maybe in a future visit I'll see what happens when he asks me my name and I say that it's Riggs.)

I took my sewing machine to them because it had locked up. It was a very clean machine, but…read moresomething went wrong. After they looked at my machine, they told me the shaft was bent and could not be repaired. I would not give up on my machine and took it to another local repair place. They not only fixed my machine, but told me that many screws were missing and wondered if I had it looked at by anyone else. I would not recommend this place if it was the last one open.

After several days of investigating wash machines , we bought a high end washer with all the bells…read moreand whistles at lows. I felt a nagging dread about my soon to be delivered machine. The reason being my experience with he washers has been less than desirable. I came across the old fashion speed queen and started reviewing all the comments. I sat and read 672, almost all favorable comments about thie plain Jane washer. We proceeded to go to lehigh Appliance on Broad st in Bethlehem and we were greeted by 2 men that seemed to be the least pushy sale man I have ever dealt with . They were incredibly knowledgable and answered a zillion questions. We purchased a speed queen washer, plain vanilla and I told my husband I think I lost my mind buying a machine with an agitator in this day and age. Well! I must say that I have never been happier with a purchase in my life. This washer iis amazing. lowes was great about letting us cancel. . My laundry is brighter and cleaner, I put an old towel in that never got clean in my high end wash machine and the speed queen got every bit of dirt out. I do not miss the digital readings, nor the bells and whistles. It is like a blast from the past that provides me with more efficiency than I ever anticipated. I am still marveling with each load how clean my clothing are. Two dials and a few selections and I am on my way...I can soak my clothing and do 3 loads in the time that I used to do one. It is gentle on my cloths and the spin cycle is great, my clothing are not in a ball and I do not have to untangle a mess like I did with my old high efficiency. It comes in white and I have to say it is a no frills in appearance...but I am totally in love... I guess the old adage don't judge a book by it's cover is true for wash machines, I could go on and on , instead just do your self a favor and try the speed queen , you will not be disappointed.I will return to lehigh appliances when I am in need , as they are a small store that delivers solid knowledge and made my shopping experience actually a fun Saturday outing, they were low key and also very informative.
