So the people who work in the pharmacy in the Havre de Grace Weis store are outstanding ... but their company keeps letting them down ! I've been without my diabetes test strips for 2 MONTHS because whoever in their corporate office that handles the Medicare contracts should be fired ! They were late renewing their Medicare contract and haven't been able to serve their Medicare customers for months ! How can this even be possible ??? How can a corporate entity be LATE renewing their contract with the federal government ??? I cannot even fathom how that could possibly happen !! Again , this specific Weis in Havre de Grace , has disappointed more than one customer !! The pharmacy people have tried to help but have been unsuccessful . Had to get my doctor to reissue my script to CVS who actually renewed their Medicare contract and will help me . This store is a disaster ... this isn't the only problem I've faced here but it's too distressing to go there . Hence the 1 star .. read more

I used to shop at this store all the time til they switched new mangers. The employees do not interact with customers. The store manager they now isnt very pleasant. The store manager is seriously creepy. He follows you around the store and doesn't say hi. He makes you feel very uncomfortable!!! He doesn't seem to be very productive. Tonight I went to Weis after 10:30pm, as I usually do on a Bartender schedule. The business is open until midnight. I dropped almost $18 in the coinstar Machine, which printed a voucher for $15. I attempted to cash it at customer service (which took nearly 3 minutes to be noticed by 3 employees near the front who were playing on their cell phones. When I was finally acknowledged, I was told I couldn't cash my voucher because it was too late. No signs were posted in the store about the policy. When I asked to spear to a manager, the young girl told me she'd go get her but she was going to tell me the same thing. After nearly 5 minutes, the "manager" finally approached me and said she couldn't give me my cash for the voucher for cash I had already dropped into their coinstar. She had a very ignorant "not my problem" attitude and said "you're in here all the time, you know customer service closes at 10". Yes ma'am I do shop at your store often after 11pm and besides having to ring myself up at self checkout while employees text on their phones at the front windows, I've never been inconvenienced, really. The "manager" reiterated that I was not getting my money today and that she had "other things to do than continue trying to explain why Weis is keeping my money until it's convenient for them to pay me. 1. If this is your policy, post a sign. 2. I'm alreafy paying more than $2 to use this service and now I have to wait. Something tells me I won't be offered interest. I asked them to call their store manager and was told "he won't answer at 11pm, he won't dven answer if we call at 5pm" that's not my problem. I'm my 11 years in corporate retail management, I've never not answered my phone if my staff has a customer service issue. Even after I asked for the district managers number, I was given a written piece of paper with the corporate phone number written so illegibly that I had to google the number if I actually wanted to call. But get this, the corporate office was closed for the day. So here I am screwed out of my money for going to a business I frequently shop, enough that the "manager" recognizes me for shopping late. Using a service that was operational (without a sign disclIming that the service hours are limited). The "manager" was rude (and too busy to resolve customer problems) and staff is too busy playing on cell phones. (However they took a break from their phones, long to laugh at me and mock me together a few aisles down.) It was a horrible experience and will be the reason I never shop at their business. I'll go ring myself up at Walmart from now on. My voucher specifically says to take to customer service to redeem today. If I have an issue redeeming it then next time I go in (which usually is inconvenient for me to come in prior to 10pm.). I will call the police and file a report that will immediately go to an attorney. I have photos of the coin machine without a sign advising customers about the after hours policies. Hopefully they decide to warm future customers after this. I was also condescendingly told that "no one else has ever had an issue with this". So. Clearly I'm an a-hole for expecting to use the service. I told the "manager she has an opportunity to resolve this" if I left without my money I would make this an issue with corporate and publicly blast the pot customer service on social media. The "manager" seemed unphased. Corporate should consider training the staff at this store how to work in customer service, my suggestion - text them. It's likely the only way to get through to them. Thanks for nothing Weis. My personal policy of not shopping online is slowly becoming more of an inconvenience than necessary. Maybe their jobs are expendable. read more

Terrible store which is always out of everything. Shelves are spotty, items are in wrong place, no price listings under many items so you don't know how much they are , and not EVER enough cashiers. One night, I visited there after calling to make sure that they still had some eggnog in late December. The cashier put me on hold and said she would check. 15 minutes later I was disconnected after holding the whole time. I called back and it went straight to voicemail and said leave a message. So I left a message that I called about eggnog and someone was supposed to be checking on it for me and could they please call me back. No one ever called me back. Later that night, I called back again to see if they had eggnog as I was needing it for a party the next night. They said they would check and to please hold. Once again, I was put on hold and ten minutes later, got disconnected. At this point I was over it Weis was the only possibility that would have it in late December period so I called back. The girl who answered the phone the first time picked up it said we got disconnected and I said no kidding. She said yes, they had the eggnog. I said please make sure it is not the pumpkin spice, as that is not what I want and she said no it is regular eggnog. I asked her if she could hold 3 curtains for me and I would be there that evening to pick them up and she said she could not do that. When I got off work 2 hours later, I went to Weiss and walked in and asked the first person I saw where the eggnog would be and she pointed me to the back right of the store or on an end cap. I went to the endcap and saw only pumpkin spice. Then I went to the back right and search through the milk, and all the dairy products for the eggnog and could not find it. So I went back up to the front to find some help and there was only one cashier and 4 other female Weis employees standing around in a circle chatting with a long line at the cashier. I stood there waiting for them to finish the conversation before I asked about the eggnog come up but they paid no attention to me so I finally spoke up and asked if someone could help me find at the eggnog. One of the chatty cathys stepped away and just walked off , and another one said "it should be in the back right of the store in the dairy case area or on an end cap. I told her I had already looked there and she walks in the back with me and look as well. No eggnog. I told her I had just called two hours before, and she said it's possible that it had all sold out in that time. At 10 o'clock at night? Would the store completely empty except for the people in line? At this point I was fed up, but realized I did need to grab some coffee for the morning. I only drink decaf, but the shelves were devoid of any decaf coffee except for one crunched package of generic. What could I do? So I grabbed it and headed for the cashier. There was still only one cashier and three people ahead of me. I asked if they could open another line and she said no, not unless there was a need. (!!) The lady that was currently checking out handed the cashier some coupons and some food stamps and the cashier told her that she could not buy the kind of milk she was buying with the food stamps. The customer told her that she had no choice because she needed it for her baby and they were out of all regular milk. The cashier told her that it would not go through on the food stamps and she couldn't get it. I had had enough. I threw the coffee in the gum area went around the other side gave the lady the $5 I was going to use to buy the coffee and told her to buy the milk and left the store. Never again. read more

Make sure that the item(s) you buy have not been opened prior to leaving the store. My gallon of water had been opened and then put in a bag and tied shut. I didn't discover it until I got home. This kind of thing has happened to me before at Weis. Once I doubted myself and consumed a box of soup that had been opened and got terribly sick - the effect lasted for months. If you do go here make sure you check the items before you leave the store. read more

I have been in a few other Weis markets that were great. It's obvious that the chain does not care that this store is mediocre at best. The building needs an upgrade badly, with tired, dirty looking floors to leaky roofs and a lot of other issues in between. Their only competition is Save Alot, so I guess that isn't a necessity from a corporate level standpoint. There are empty shelves and stock issues constantly. And I have been told by employees that there is no incentive to go above and beyond. As mentioned earlier, this chain can do a much better job at having a quality grocery store in an area that deserves one. I think that the whole problem here is at the upper management level. read more

Love this store! We have several other large supermarkets in our immediate area and, by far, Weis has the best meat quality and selection. We now buy all our meats from Weis. They also have the best bagels around and love their Kaiser rolls. Their produce is fresh, great quality and priced well. When they first opened, I thought to myself "Oh no, not another supermarket", but they filled a void in the area and am glad they're here. read more
