This is a decent grocery store. Prices seem to be on par with other local stores, even though they advertise low prices. Some things are better priced at times, like produce, but the store as a whole isn't cheap. They offer private bathrooms (2) that are really big. You have to bring your own bags or buy paper bags. Self checkout lanes and usually one cashier is available. The self checkout lanes are usually card or tap only. This store is right off route 40. read more

WE LOVE LIDL! Well, we are very familiar with Aldis and visited a Lidl while in Ireland, but had no idea they have some in the States. We decided to check out this place while we were in Maryland and didnt regret it. In fact, we got some good deals on storage shelves and ended up buying three of them to take back to Buffalo, along with some delicious pastel de natas, croissants, and other goodies. The place is clean, the pastries are fresh, the prices are good, and the staff is friendly. read more

I enjoy going to Lidl. It's like a mix between trader joes and Aldi. There are a lot of interesting food choices and fun other items. I enjoy their hummus, yogurt and frozen fish options. read more

After visiting a location in Europe and then seeing one here I was very excited to try this location out when it was built a few years ago. Would have given them 5 stars but this place consistently have their ad come out and they do not have items that are stated to be there but aren't. I do not live that close to this location but enjoy the items they post I would love to be able to get if they start being more consistent with the ad. Unlike Aldi's they do allow you to call and get answered by a call center but sometimes they really aren't as helpful as someone would like. Some of the prices aren't that great but their are some products that are greatly priced. They have some German brands that are cheaper than you would find at Walmart or other big box stores. Their can goods are super cheap. I cook my dogs food and I usually by fresh veggies but to stock up I get them can veggies since they have them ranging from .30-.70 cents per can. I am not too sure on their meats due to never buying them but I do know the family pack of turkey meat is cheaper at Aldis (purchase that for my pups as well!). If you love juices, such as orange juice and others, they have pretty good prices. The eggs are fair as well. I did notice when they have special advertisements such as toys, clothing and other home items of it doesn't sell by a certain point they have a clearance section of mark downs. So check that out! All in all I enjoy this store just hope they can do better with getting the products they advertise in their ads. The management and staff at Aberdeen MD location have zero customer care awareness. At checkout the POS often fails to pick up shelf prices, the customer waits and waits as the manager arrives, ignores the customer, begrudgingly rectifies errors, never aplogizes for the errors or waiting time. Lidl was a pretty cool find. Coming back from a quick break in Ocean City, MD, we spotted this grocery chain along Route 40. There is currently a rumor going around that we may get one of these in Nottingham, and I sure hope we do! Lidl is a lot like Aldi, without the annoying "quarters for carts" situation. Boxes available to carry your items, or you can buy a bag at the register or even better, bring your own. A lot of items are super cheap, and they have some really great deals. I picked up a half pound sirloin steak that looks beautiful, like something you would get from Mom's Organic Market, for $2.49. $2.49!!!! To be fair I haven't cooked it yet, but it was a weekend deal that I just happened upon and I could not pass up. Their bakery items are great, we tried a few different croissants and they were really good. You can also slice your own bread (think baguettes and sourdough loaves) in one of those machines that is usually behind a counter. Keep your eyes open because other items are higher in price, such as the dry pastas, that you can pick up for less elsewhere. This would be a great addition to our neighborhood, and if we don't get one, well it's only about 30 minutes away. And if anyone can tell me how to correctly pronounce this German name I would greatly appreciate it. read more

Aberdeen welcomed Lidl two weeks ago. I visited today to see what the buzz is about. I like this store!.The footprint is relatively large with maybe 20% dedicated to general merchandise. I'm sure Lidl and competition utilize similar merchandising strategy in the fatherland that they do here. I'm sure they'll adjust in time to our way of shopping as we rethink grocery. Entering the store, The Lidl bakery is one to behold. Your sweet tooth and wallet will thank you for indulging. There were several BOGO items lining end caps I couldn't resist- especially their Chesapeake Bay seasoned popcorn. Lidl also offers bacon and salmon jerky. A nice touch. Meats were appealing and competitively priced. Yogurt, ahem, Greek yogurt was plentiful and only .65 each. National brands? Yes, Lidl does stock some category leaders at prices you'd pay in legacy grocers. Make no mistake: this is a great operation that will grow and succeed in the States. Count on it. We were so excited about this grocery store opening. After living 20 years in Germany, we knew & loved this brand. After about 2 months and 5 separate visits, were sorely disappointed. We drive 45 mins to the store, and plan our weekly shopping by reading the circular. Every time we've gone, over half of the advertised items we planned to buy are not available. Not 1 or 2, but 6, 7, or 8 of them. What's worse, the staff couldn't care less. I've never seen a ruder or less motivated team in any store. They gruffly tell you that there's no rain checks or substitutions, and basically tell you to get lost. We might stop by if we're in the are by chance, but we'll keep our weekly shopping to closer, more reliable and friendlier alternatives. read more

Went there on opening day, I was super excited! But went back to Aldis the next day. Some items are reasonably priced, others are not. You just got to keep an eye on their specials. Which are sometimes great ones! It's a great additional option for this area. read more

It was nice to shop somewhere different for a change. But, it won't be my regular store. Some prices were ok, but most were not much cheaper than Wal-mart or Food Lion. One thing I did like was that they have self-checkout. That gives them a 3rd star. read more

Went to this one yesterday, it's a nice and new and the layout is reversed from the Bowie store. The staff I encountered seemed nice and friendly, the nice thing about this store, not a lot of people shopping at 12pm on Sunday. I managed to score some great buys buy one get one free organic grass fed ground beef, fresh bake goods and reduced cheeses. I did noticed a lot of special buys sold out or really picked over but the 37 mile trip was still worth it. read more
