Weinschenke is known for having one of the, if not the, best burgers in Vienna so I came here to check it out for myself. I got El Chicano, while my brother got Der Wilde Kerl and my mom got the double cheeseburger. The burgers were all great, but I wouldn't say that they're Vienna's best. The buns were nice and soft but not too bready and the patties were juicy. Their chips were somewhat dry but the awesome selection of sauces sort of made up for that.
I wasn't really a fan of the beans in my burger, so in hindsight, I didn't make the best choice. However, Der Wilde Kerl was delicious, especially with the fried egg. You can add extra toppings to any burger so I would definitely recommend adding an egg to whatever burger you choose.
The ambience was also pleasant, with pretty nice outdoor seating. Remember to reserve a table beforehand though, since it's usually packed, even on weekdays.
Overall if you're looking for a good burger place, definitely check this place out. They also have several locales across Vienna so it's pretty convenient. read more
