A solid 3.5! Yeah, for some reason, this place fits above burgermista and le burger. The main…read moreproblem here is the meat. Small is 100g from Austria, while regular (180g) and the chuck Norris (double 180g and fun name) are Angus from the US... THE US!? Why? Frozen patties aged in a storage container shipped forever... Sound appealing? It makes sense in the US, but not here. I tried the no1 at a Chuck Norris size (for fun) and regretted it after the first bite. I should have tried the 100g Austrian beef as maybe that could have a better taste. What ever happened to grinding your meat, seasoning it, and cooking it properly? Everyone trying to make more money, that's what! This is places adds itself to a middle category between McDonalds/BurgerKing/etc. and the Charlie Ps/saidTheButcherToTheCow/etc... Think it's time for my burger list. Angus was bland and tasted just like patties I bought for group BBQ's sold at Costco in bulk. Not bad, but not good either. Oh and it's reeaaalllyyyyyy overpriced. I would say the most expensive burgers in the city. Aside from the small, that might just be on par. If you have read this far, thanks!
The restaurant is located below the stairs on the main floor of the main train station in Vienna…read more It looks amazing from the outside: full glas front, beautiful design. The inside is equally well designed: cow-pattern couches and stylish chairs, nice table design and arrangement as well as a wonderful counter. The tables come with chili, hot sauces and Heinz Ketchup on them. I ordered a Classic Regular Burger with Classic Salted Fries as a side. The price was somewhere around €11 without a drink. I waited for my burger at the counter although I probably could have sat down but I chose to take the burger to the table myself. I took the seat on a well lighted table at the corner of the restaurant. The cow-pattern-pillows were comfortable to sit on. The first look at the Burger was somewhat disappointing. The salad looked sad and the bread unusual. The first bite was even more disappointing. While the meat tasted incredibly great (I really have to emphasize that) the rest of the burger was unspectacular if not boring. Tasty is something different. Trying to figure out what the cooks have messed up I disassembled my burger: meat - very good, salad - not that good, tomatoes and onions - as fresh as they could be and delicious, BBQ sauce - delicious but nearly not existent. I figured that the Burger actually was made up of delicious ingredients but the composition was bad. Let's talk about the fries: hand-cut, goldish and crispy. Extremely salted - too much in my humble opinion. Delicious aside from that. To conclude I'd say that I wouldn't recommend the restaurant at the moment unless you want to stop in for fries.

You can absolutely taste the superior quality of the meat of the burger, the bread they made the bun with, the perfectly fried potatoes and don't even get me started with that to die for whipped cream on that bomb chocolate shake. The place was busy when we got there. My mom and I came with her little mobility scooter, and they were very accommodating with helping us find a place to stash it. Our server was so friendly. The food came out really quick. They also brought us these cute little keychains as a gift because they were excited to have real Americans in the American diner. Look when I'm traveling I always try all the cuisine there but at some point you may get a little bit of a craving for flavors from home. If only the flavors from home tasted like this!

I have no interest in going around Vienna and eating hamburgers. (Hey if it were Philly…read morecheesesteaks or hoagies being served up - maybe!) But if I were ever meeting up with someone to grab a burger, my choice of restaurants would almost certainly be Weinschenke. There is a Weinschenke in the Karmeliter Markt in the Lepoldstadt, but the one I always go to is the main branch right near me in Margareten - on the Franzensgasse. Not only are the regular hamburgers good here, they also have veggie burgers which I really like. Personally I like the vegan burger more than the veggie burger. For starters the tasty seitan patty holds together better when eaten. Both are served on polenta rolls with Erdäpfel chips from the Lobaul. And if you think burgers - beef or veggie - only go with beer, think again. Weinschenke lives up to its name and has a worthy wine selection. The Weinschenke in the 5th District is very popular so be prepared to share a table. It's all part of the atmosphere. Tip: There are a couple of outdoor tables which are great for wine sipping and people watching!

(I would have preferred to have something that was vegan and gluten-free that was NOT fried, but I suppose I should be happy I had something to eat.) And it was tasty! The nuggets weren't dry at all and had a nice texture. There was a nice creamy sauce on the nuggets, and a different light (balsamic olive oil?) dressing for the salad that was also a great combo. I also got a lemonade for my beverage, but it was a carbonated soda, so not really my kind of thing. I should have gotten something else to drink. Would have been nice to have had at least a couple of other gluten-free options to choose from but the Nugget Salad was satisfying. No wifi unfortunately.
