Upon entering under the arch, you are greeted with a beautiful cobbled path leading past flowers and trees to a seemingly secluded garden full of comfortable chairs and spacious tables.
As with most restaurants I have experienced in Europe and particularly Austria, you seat yourself if the table le doesn't have a sign state it is reserved, the waitperson brings you a menu, fan and are given ample time to choose your drinks and food.
We ordered a liter of stilled Wasser ( water without CO2), a Zweigelt (red wine) and a local pilsner beer. For food, we have two plates of the bratwurst with sauerkraut and potatoes and one baked chicken with potatoes and a side salad. The brats was moist, tender, and flavorful, and the slaw was robust and strong. The potatoes, as has been the case everywhere we ate on this trip, were very tasty and excellently cooked. The chicken was tender, not dry, and came off the bone easily. The accompanying salad was very fresh and lightly coated with oil and vinegar.
For dessert we had one piece of cheese strudel and one cherry strudel, both moist and delicious.
The value was excellent for the proportions we received, and our waitress was ausgezeichnet (excellent.) she even called a taxi for us! I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to get off the beaten path. Oh, public transportation will get you very close and might require a transfer depending where you are.
