Walked around the cute town and after a "wine-tasting" at a local winery, we came in here. We were welcomed and took a table on the patio with amazing view, albeit a tad cloudy since rain is on its way. Our waiter didn't speak any English but with some gesturing, we placed our order. We had the Sacher sausage with horseradish, mustard and bread -- that was delicious and perfect bites to share with our wine and beer. After enjoying our time up on the Kahlenberg hill, we opted out of visiting the Dabube tower -- no need to :-)

We initially stumbled upon this place while exploring Vienna. When the bus stopped here and everyone got off, we looked at each-other and said, okay lets see where they are all going, who needs a guide book. Turns out, we made a great choice! Unlike a lot of places we went, there was no English speaking staff on site. However, with a small amount of gesturing, they did produce an English menu of sorts, enough to take an order... and when in doubt, we just asked for a local beer and whatever the waiter would recommend. We were not disappointed. The sausages and foods were fresh and tasty, the service while slow, was great... trust me you don't want to rush to eat here. Take your time and enjoy this view and setting. The staff was nice and even with the language barrier we felt very welcome. The price seemed reasonable. About the restaurant and setting. As you walk in you'll see that there is an inside area, you find your own seat... but skip inside, go past it to the outdoor patio. You'll quickly see why the locals come here! In the mid summer, this is a AMAZING view of the city! Your way high up on a hill, you can see all of Vienna and it's very romantic and laid back. Bring your wife or your special someone, but leave the kids at the hotel. You do not need to dress up, simple polo shirt and pants (as most in Vienna dress) will do. I'm not sure if they are open at night, but if they are this view would be amazing at night as well. We went on a Sunday afternoon, around 2pm. Some final notes, I don't think they take credit or debit. Of course, most folks reading this should know to bring hard currency with them. Also just behind the restaurant and within walking distance is a little road that takes you to a public park up the hill a bit. A very nice walk, and by the bus stop area there is a free public water fountain for you and you must drink from it. The best water is here, ask a local about why the water is so good, cool and refreshing. Just below the restaurant on the hill is a set of vineyards, also easy to walk to. Some great photos can be taken here with the city in the background.
