He took a look at the ring and told me he didn't believe the sapphire was real. I had my suspicions because I noticed a small scratch in it so I wasn't completely shocked but my fiancé definitely was. He had a few other jewelers take a look at it and they all agreed it was fake/glass. We had the rock tested to be sure, and of course, it was fake. Fast forward to a few months later (after everything got settled with the fake terrible jeweler), I asked Rob if he could source some sapphires to make us a new engagement ring. He was on it! Two days later he showed us about 10-12 sapphires and a couple days after that we went in to take a look, find a setting etc. The sapphires were all beautiful, we found the most lovely, unique, perfect setting and Rob was able to set the stone, engrave it, and add both of our birthstones in the inside of the ring (his idea and sweet touch) in literally 3 days. Communication was always super easy and quick (complete opposite of the fake jeweler). I couldn't have asked for a better experience especially after the nightmare we went through with the last jeweler. Highly recommended! Thank you Rob for making us the most perfect engagement ring!

Mr. Lance was very helpful and professional. He beautifully changed the shape of my wedding band which has a bark texture -- it's seemless and perfect. He also repaired a previous clumsy resizing job on my engagement ring. The repairs were extremely reasonable. I would not hesitate to send friends or family to this business. (They are also friendly to gay/lesbian couples if anyone cares about that.)

She smiled and agreed, and started cutting. In no time at all, she had cut the hair on one side of my head above my ear, which was the opposite of what I asked for, as I have a deformed right ear from decades of combat sports competition, and I wanted it concealed. As she had already ruined my hair on one side, I bit my tongue as she made the other side match it. I was absolutely furious, but what can a stylist do once they've taken too much off? Absolutely nothing. Now I am stuck with a haircut where my deformed ear is visible for the whole world to see because the stylist decided to give me that haircut that she wanted to give me instead of the one that I asked for. I paid for my haircut with a card and departed in a polite manner, but the moment I hit the sidewalk, I could no nothing but scream profanity as the realization that I couldn't cover my deformed ear kicked in. Now I am not only out $18, but I am stuck with a haircut which leaves me open to yet more questions along the lines of "What's wrong with your ear?" [Edit, I called the place and she offered me a refund, but this doesn't undo the damage she did to my personal appearance. I'll take the refund, but this review stands.] I grew the sides of my hair longer specifically to hide that ear, and the stylist decided that she knew better than me where my haircut was concerned, and forced her personal preferences onto my head. That stylist is very fortunate that I have superior control over my temper, because she has left me feeling disfigured with the haircut she gave me, and now that I'm home and trying to style this mess, I see that she couldn't even manage to trim my bangs straight, and the hair on one side is not symmetrical with the hair on the other side. With the mess she left me with, with my deformed ear exposed, I might just shave my head instead of putting up with this terrible thing she did to my head. I am so humiliated that I don't even want to be seen in public looking like this. I went in feeling good about myself and looking forward to the haircut I asked for, and I left with my self-esteem in the gutter. I get upset every time I catch my refection and see what she did to my appearance. I can't go out looking like this. In short, she was absolutely incompetent & unprofessional in providing a haircut according to the very simple instructions I gave her. She shouldn't be permitted to cut hair, and if she has a state license for cutting hair, it should be revoked. The only reason she's getting one star is because I can't give her zero stars. Attached to this review, you'll see two photos detailing how she couldn't even manage to cut my hair evenly. I could have gotten a better cut from a landscaper with a weed-whacker. There is absolutely no excuse for this, and no apology or refund can do undo the damage. I'll have to wear a hat until my hair covers my deformed ear again. Thanks to a stylist who doesn't listen, I get to wear a hat to cover my deformed ear now. As a craftsman and a business owner, I can tell you that this is not how a professional renders a service to a client. **Update** I spoke with the stylist on the phone a short time ago about the refund she told me she would give me, and instead of telling me when I could come down & get it, she began making all manner of excuses as to why she shouldn't refund my money. This is the kind of experience you can expect to have with this hair stylist: first she will ruin your hair, then she will justify her poor work and back-peddle out of any refund she's already offered you. I should have looked at the other 1-Star reviews of this place, because it seems that those people all had a very similar experience to mine. As a small business owner myself, I'm very enthusiastic about supporting small businesses, but not if they're run by incompetent, unprofessional people who refuse to accept accountability for the damage they do, or offer fair compensation in return for those damages.

She adds a layer of personalization that most hair salons and stylists don't add. Her place is cute, adorned with her art work and isn't like most fancy salons, but fancy isn't what we were looking for. She's able to do cuts and color that pops! We will be coming back because of the fun conversation and great prices that match our style.

I had met her as a young woman when she sold ads for a local newspaper to various businesses before obtaining her real estate license. The last time I saw her, a few months ago, she was in an electric wheel chair speeding along Rittenhouse Square oblivious to others.

From past experience we know how important it was to find the right agent who would represent her interests and find her the best place possible. We were very impressed Laurie's level of attention and dedication. She took the time to review the pros and cons of each house they looked at and when the time came to make an offer Laurie was flawless in the logistics and paperwork. Based on the entire experience we would highly recommend Laurie Phillips.

Uber will always get 5 stars from me…read more Living in one of the 5th largest cities in the U.S., it is often hard, no, impossible to be anything other than a nameless face in a crowd, an otherwise anonymous customer number or just a delivery address. As many issues that Philly might have, there is an unfettered joy and sense of adventure for me with the random, chance encounters the city offers. As I am conveyed back and forth to the South Street vet with my sick little white cat, once again I get to have some funny, interesting, happy, poignant and occasionally simply dull, yawning interactions with Uber's legions of drivers. I love getting a minute peek into the thoughts and lives of these drivers who are so often taken for granted and treated like robots. Sure, some of these folx have complicated lives, second and third jobs and want nothing more to get through their shift in peace and quiet. As an introvert, I always test the conversational waters when I step into an Uber vehicle. If the driver answers me in monosyllables, I take it he or she simply wants to drive, thus I keep to myself. Some drivers are possibly bored yet enthused about chatting so as a result I have been privileged to learn about their families, their country of origin, their snack preferences, some of the odd/interesting/pesky passengers they've conveyed, music tastes and most of all-how connected everyone of us really are. Almost as good, since I don't drive, is having the little kid in me awakened and absolutely thrilled at going out for a car ride. (Sure, it isn't free but the little boy in me never even considers that. He simply has a blast seeing the city from a vehicle...) While Uber is a business, it would be nothing without its drivers. Sure, sometimes they are slow to arrive or they flip your trip to another driver. From time to time, a driver is having a rotten day and acts out a bit. Examine your conscience. Haven't you had similar days or nights, no matter what you do for a living? Rather than bitching and moaning, treat your Uber ride as a way to connect with someone you'd probably never meet in your regular social circle. See your driver like the unique, silly, grouchy, aspiring, single parenting, hard working, dream filled human being they are; under the t-shirt, under the jacket, under the trucker's cap, behind the knock off shades-they are someone just like you.
