Wegmans has really slipped. I went in today to ask about their breakfast sandwiches, supposedly a must try. They were out, and when I inquired, the woman at the counter rolled her eyes and replied with a curt no, and that's it. Meanwhile, there were seven staff just standing around. Went to Wegmans to pick up a prescription, as my tegular pharmacy was closed. They called me to say they had a prescription for me and I said I would be there in two minutes. I pulled into the prescription pick up area and waited for 20 minutes and no one showed. When I called the service desk, they told me the pharmacy was closed. read more

This is one of the larger size Wegmans stores, though there are some that are even a bit larger than this one. Of the ones in the neighborhood, I tend to prefer this one because it usually has most items that I am looking for in stock. If you're new to the Rochester area and have not yet experienced Wegmans this is a good one to go to. Large enough to get the full effect, but not as overwhelmingly large as some of the ones a bit further out in the suburbs. read more

Yes yes yes. Every Rochester visitor yearns to enter this flagship Wegmans location. And I will hand it to them, their entryway displays are 5th Ave (NYC) worthy complete with chandeliers for Valentine's Day or giant balloon football archways for a big game - it's definitely impressive to walk in and see all that glam. BUT BUT - try shopping here weekly and it's a drag. Most of the real estate is given over to salad making stations, sushi counters, Chipotle rip-off counter and the like. Coming in for a few kitchen staples is like navigating Atlanta airport to grab a coffee. This location is crowded- so pick your time wisely. You need to find that perfect window after the crowds but not before the shelves are restocked. I have a love-not love relationship going on here. We keep saying we're going to quit Wegs - buy at local shops and farmer markets, Trader Joe's and Aldi's. But then something pulls us back. Maybe it's the olive bar. COVID curious? Well they don't really play safe here. The location USED to have cart wipes and sanitation areas right at the entrance - but now that's all gone. Coincidentally, the covid cases here are rising? They do NOT enforce mask wearing, distancing or wipe down areas between customers. It's really sad to see how little they care about us customers. read more

I recently moved to FL where there is no Wegmans - such a sad, sad time. So I am sure to ALWAYS make a stop in when I am in town. This Wegs on Monroe Ave in Pittsford has always got the goods you're looking for. Their bakery is the bomb.com - let me tell you. They've got cookies for days. Anything you can imagine. Seriously. We presently live in Albany and therefore we have no wegmans. When we visit Rochester we most always visit Wegmans. This past holiday was no different. Our initial mission was to pick up some Zweigels white hots. Once again the white hots are a Rochester only item. My whole family loves them. We also ate lunch there. $70 later for 6 people and all were fed. They have an amazing assortment of prepared foods unlike any other grocery store I have ever seen. In addition to the prepared food they have a huge area for eating which is up stairs. Not surprisingly there were many people doing the same thing. The flagship monster there's everything and if you're likely to run into Danny Wegman himself it will be here. The fresh squeezed lemon and lime juice isn't found at every location but it is here. There's also a larger amount of Asian veggies. Parking can be a headache though. read more

Coming from Buffalo, we've all been to several Wegmans. Being in Rochester, I wanted to visit the store that started the craze of Wegmans. I was expecting a plaque commemorating this location being the first store, a museum, something. There was nothing. I recommend this store to get a museum. People would flock to it. read more

Don't shop there on a Friday afternoon (Pittsford) because you'll be waiting a looooong time to check out. They claim to be short staffed yet I counted 2 managers gabbing at the end of the cosmetic aisle and another running around looking frantic but still not opening another checkout line. I am not happy! Wegmans sold me romaine lettuce and now I have been told to throw it away? I do not have a receipt, I didn't use my shoppers club card since it was not on sale and I am out the 5 bags I bought for thanksgiving? They have their money and the garbage men have the lettuce. This Wegmans needs to work on their customer interactions. I was there on Memorial Day- having injured my knee earlier in the day I required the use of an electric powered shopping cart. As I was getting my groceries in the prepared foods section I was stopped by "asset protection" - first asking if I was really in need of the cart (mind you there was no shortage of these as it was 8:30 pm). I replied with a yes I do need it for an injury I incurred earlier in the day ( not that it's any of your business, does Wegmans require some proof of injury to use their mobility carts?). Then he told me that he just wanted to make sure because young guys like me are zipping around on them and could cause display distraction. I assured him that at almost 40 years old I had plenty of driving experience and was quite capable of handling this cart that moves slower than any person can walk, but maybe instead of sticking your nose where it doesn't belong asset protection could work on protecting the store and not harassing injured customers. Not to mention the insulting tone that he took, like he was a parent addressing a misbehaving child. I guess when you don't wear a name tag you can't treat people however you like. read more

Best pharmacy team ever! You can refill your prescriptions online - so nice. They also do auto refill for certain drugs, if you prefer. If you do auto refill you get extra coupons, I think. The pharmacists and their team are so nice and helpful. They give great advice for over the counter help and work with insurers for you, when needed. To explain to you why I would never go anywhere else, I will give you this story: I came home from college for a minor holiday weekend (like Memorial Day or something). I forgot my much-needed medicine at school and would have been without it for 3-4 days. Thank god I had kept my prescriptions at Wegmans despite the inconvenience in college. The pharmacy was closed on the minor holiday (which I hadn't realized it would be), but Wegmans, as always, was open. I explained my predicament. I was freaked out about missing dosages of medicine I needed. Then the incredible happened: they called someone to open the pharmacy for me and refilled my medicine a couple weeks early. It was like a miracle. This truly exemplified service at its finest. I will never forget how kind, understanding and generous this team is. All other pharmacies can be compared to this incredible, above-and-beyond-the-call-of-duty standard. read more

We were shopping in Wegmans when we were rudely interrupted by a clerk to move because somebody needed to get an item in a department in the same spot as we were in. We just got there too. It wasn't like we were in someone's way. She couldn't wait one moment until we found what we were looking for? I shop all the time, if someone is at a spot I need to get into, I either wait and have patience, or I shop around the same area until I can get in. Wegmans should teach some clerks about customer service, and some common sense, since that wasn't taught at home. read more

They have two sets of self service total of 9 self-service registers with a very nice gentleman there who will direct you to any aisle you need by looking in his handheld device. Nice section of local Rochester souvenirs. Excellent organic produce and large cheese Department. Clean bathrooms. Internal coffee shop with close to 8 p.m. but they had a very good pumpkin shed other cold coffee frigerator. read more
