Good food but sadly we waited 1.5 hours for the food to arrive and it wasn't what I ordered. Still nice though

Although they offer the usual range of dishes on the menu - no surprises- it is worth sitting in here: it has a lovely, intimate atmosphere, and the service is efficient, charming and friendly. It never seems to get too busy- at least in the early evening- and there is no sense of rush or urgency among the staff.

I can never remember what kind of Panda domecile lends its name to this wee south-side…read morerestaurant/takeaway, and it's generally known as the Panda Hut House round our way. I never really feel confident about whether any particular Chinese restaurant is a good one. I enjoy the offerings from various places, but then again I'm prone to enjoying a Big Mac from time to time and wouldn't wish to recommend one of those as some kind of haute cuisine. One of those "I don't know anything about Chinese food but I know what I like" sort of things, which makes me a little apprehensive about offering an unreserved recommendation. I guess that most (Scottish) Chinese takeaway food is at a pretty trashy end of the culinary spectrum. Nevertheless I've certainly never been disappointed by a meal from the Panda Hut House. One of the most remarkable things about the place is its really generous portion sizes. My wife and I can quite comfortably order a chicken and cashew nuts with a single portion of rice and feel well fed after sharing it (not sure the division is quite half 'n' half, but then I'm a growing boy.). That also makes it extremely good value for money, and certainly one of the cheaper take away options that we regularly opt for (you'll get change from an £8 note for a meal for two). If you like Scottish Chinese takeaway food then I bet you'll enjoy the meals available here. I don't think I can say it any clearer than that I'm afraid.
