Dr. Claudia Castelnovi is absolutely amazing. She truly cares about her patients and it's shown. Super knowledgeable and so gentle and sweet. Never before did I get any follow up email/call from a doctor to check how my child is doing after a visit. She's a rare gem and I can't imagine ever taking my kiddos to any other doctor. The nurse on the other hand was extremely slow unfortunately, and while the office seemed practically empty, it took 2 hours to be seen for my newborn's visit. read more

We've seen multiple doctors at the wee care in Layton and they continuously misdiagnose my children by saying nothing is wrong. We will then go to a different doctor at a different clinic who will correctly diagnose them and prescribe the meds needed. We have wasted so much time and money at wee care getting nothing done while my kids suffer with sickness that can be treated. Strep, ear infections, and now sinus infections have all been misdiagnosed as "looking perfectly fine" only to find out days later the infection suspected was present. I do not recommend. read more

I wish I had taken pictures because this is just the cutest facility! The front desk and the chairs in the lobby are bright and colorful. Super fun for the kids to pick which color of chair they'd like to sit in. My daughter had a weird rash that quickly spread all over her torso. Since she's having surgery in a few days, I needed to get her in quick so we could get it taken care of. Her primary doctor wasn't available, and none of the doctors I like at the Layton Wee Care were available, so we chose to see Dr. Dennis in Syracuse. Dr. Dennis was fantastic! Her assistant was busy, so she came out herself to get my daughter. My daughter is usually pretty shy at first, but she instantly clicked with Dr. Dennis and felt comfortable. The doctor was able to quickly figure out what type of rash it was, took the time to explain everything to me, and then made sure we didn't have any questions. We didn't feel rushed at all. We left there with a prescription and the information we needed. I asked my daughter which doctor she wants to see next time and she said definitely Dr. Dennis. We will 100% come back to Wee Care in Syracuse to see Dr. Dennis. read more

They always take the time to go over my questions and they are really good with my little one. The office has a friendly and inviting atmosphere. The receptionists are kind and welcoming. Our experience was great. As first time parents we were nervous about whether or not to come in when my 8 month old baby developed a fever and cough. We ultimately decided to come in and I am glad we did. They diagnosed him with RSV and an ear infection. The visit was well paced- we didn't feel like we had to wait around long, and it wasn't rushed once the doctor came in. All of our questions and concerns were listened to and professionally addressed. We left feeling more knowledgeable and confident. The doctor's bedside manner was excellent; she made us feel more comfortable in a scary situation. We typically see Dr. Ragsdale, who is wonderful. This time around we came on his off day so we had to see a different doctor- I think she was a PA. I forgot her name but she was really great too. Highly recommend this office for any pediatric care needs. read more

I am so upset. I have taken my girls here all of 2023 and they missed everything. I would go in on a Friday and have to go back that Monday to go back a week later and find out they had this or that. I went in for months and they never tested my daughter for strep when we complained and then she ended up with Scarlett fever because nobody ever tested or treated her. Now I have a billing issue and I have left several voicemails for Meeka the manager at layton and she won't talk to me or return my calls. This place is horrible. First of all, this review is NOT about the actual doctors. We love the doctors at Wee Care. The billing and office staff, however....not so much. TLDR - Wee Care will exploit worried parents for money while in the waiting room for a pre-scheduled appointment. It's as simple as that. We had a bill that was currently in review with our insurance company. We were double covered at the time of service, and so the insurance company had to reprocess the claim. My 7-month old son had what we were certain was an ear infection, so we made an appointment with Wee Care to have him seen. Wee Care literally refused to see him unless we paid $400 up-front, in the office EVEN THOUGH the bill in question was in review with insurance. They 100% bullied my husband into paying the bill on his personal credit card or else he would have to walk out of the clinic with a screaming baby in pain. When we asked if we could get reimbursed the $400 since our claim was currently being reprocessed, we were told in no uncertain terms that we would NOT be getting that payment back and that it would be applied to my other child's account - even though he was not the one being seen for the ear infection AND his account was not delinquent. Long story short, if you owe money to Wee Care, you better be prepared for your child to not be seen regardless of the severity of their health condition. The billing manager told us to just take our kid to the ER next time instead. That was literally her advice. She also equated this decision to not refund the money for my child's health appointment to buying a car at a dealership. That's how Wee Care views our children. As cars in need of service. Wee Care, it would be great if you lived up to your doctors' reputation as people who genuinely care about children. It's sad that whether it's the medical system or simply your callous policies, that you put parents who just want good medical care for their children in this position. Shame on you. read more

My siblings came here when they were younger, and I needed a place to take my newborn, and ultimately decided on Wee Care because of the location. We took our LO in for his 2 week check up, and had Dr. Hoki assist us. He is very friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable, so we decided to keep him as our pediatrician. I am glad we chose Wee Care, because they are open 24/7 so if I have a question or something happens late at night, I have peace of mind knowing I can call them at any hour. The staff is always incredibly friendly, and very calm, even when I'm freaking out! (Babies are scary!) I'm shocked at other's reviews, because I haven't had a single negative experience here! It is very clean, and during the COVID pandemic, they're ontop of everything, making sure you have a mask, sanitize your hands before entering, take your temperature, keeping your distance from others, and keeping everything completely sterile. I feel very good about bringing my son here, and I am very glad we chose Wee Care! Keep up the great work! read more

I took my son to this one when he was a toddler. He was screaming and crying and running a fever and saying he couldn't pee. They did a urine test and said nothing was wrong with him. I knew something was wrong but they didn't treat him. I took him to he er and turned out he had a pretty bad kidney infection. I never went back to this wee care. I got told years later that I should take my other son to wee care in Roy thats its pretty good and I was sadly disappointed because I scheduled due to some health concerns while they just sceduled it like a normal well check. We waited a long time then got rushed around without being informed or asked about what they wanted to do per well check which had nothing to do with why we were there. The doctor was really grouchy and it made us uncomfortable. We were supposed to go back for a follow up but the anxiety of going in a wee care was too much and we decided to go else where. Also I was glad eventually the doctor listened and ordered a list of blood work I asked for but after they got results back they had someone call us back 4 different times and every time told us "all the blood work was in" Three of the times told us the blood work all looked good and my son was fine and one of the times told me that two of the blood tests were abnormal and cause for concern. I called back with questions for the doctor and could hear him relaying things to a nurse but would not talk to me directly and he did not seem to remember what the concerns were. Just seemed very unorganized again causing for too much anxiety of this place to go back. read more

Took my daughter here a couple times. Not impressed. The front desk people are nice enough. The clinical staff was pretty dismissive and basically told us "kids get sick". My daughter is vomiting, cant stay awake and cant keep food down. Wow such a insight that they get sick! Wound up moving to a Ped down in Cottonwood who was immensely better and actually cared how my daughter was doing. I would avoid and go to another Ped. Even Inter-mountain is better than this! read more

My daughter got sick and her normal clinic was closing. I called We Care and they got us in right away. They were super sweet and the clinic was very clean. I was so thankful for their care for my baby girl! Definitely would recommend them to anyone in the area. read more

We just had a baby and our Doctor told us we must schedule a 24 hour follow up New born visit with a Pediatrician. We chose Wee care Pediatrics, as they were highly recommend from several people. We were running just a little late like 2-3 minutes, for our appointment thanks to New born issues and we called ahead and asked if they would be ok waiting just another 2-3 minutes after their 15 min cut off time before they cancelled our appointment! Our appointment was at 11:30am and we literally arrived 2 minutes after their 15 minute window, however, they refused to work with us and told us we would have to reschedule our 24 HOUR FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT!!! I understand we need to be on time, but our baby is only a couple days old and had some unforeseen issues at the last minute, but our concerns fell on deaf ears when speaking to the front desk. I've worked at Doctors offices before and I know an extra 2 minutes will not completely upend their entire schedule! On top of that the Woman we spoke with at the front desk was rude and showed zero compassion toward our situation!!! We care Pediatrics refused to work with us, so we refuse to work with them, and we'll be using a more professional, compassionate and understanding Provider! Just as I was posting this review I just read through several other similar reviews to my own and now I can say that I'm grateful I found out about the terrible customer service here before I started taking my child on a regular basis. Here's the TLDR: Went to Dr. Hoki for deep sliver in daughter's LEFT foot. He didn't see sliver in left foot. He removed superficial surface slivers in my daughters RIGHT foot. We had deep slivers in her left foot removed by a different office while on vacation to Portland. We receive bill for $350 for removing superficial slivers in right foot. We fight for 6 months with billing department. They FINALLY agree to take off 30% of the bill. They won't change billing for insurance to cover some of the cost. We like Dr. Hoki, and feel he did nothing wrong, but billing department didn't want to act ethically in our situation. We went into the Wee Care Pediatric Layton office in summer of 2015. My 1 year old daughter got a sliver in her left foot from walking barefoot on our porch. The day she received the sliver we pulled some wood out, but after several weeks it was still very sore for her to walk on, and there was a bump at the sliver site. We suspected that there was still material deep in her foot. After still experiencing discomfort we decided to take her in to see Dr. Hoki in the Wee Care Pediatric office in Layton, UT. When Dr. Hoki observed our daughters foot, he said there was no sliver visible in the foot, and that perhaps the bump on the foot was a wart. We said we felt fairly confident that there was still a sliver in her foot. Here's the critical part of the story: while discussing the possible deep sliver in her LEFT foot, Dr. Hoki noticed a few SUPERFICIAL surface slivers in her RIGHT foot. He then promptly, and without asking, grabbed some tweezers and pulled 2 slivers out of her right foot. We thanked him for the visit and thought nothing more about the situation. We agreed to keep watching the left foot for any signs of a sliver. While on vacation in Portland, Oregon, 2 months later our daughter was still experiencing pain, and there was now some puss visible in her left foot. We took my daughter to a pediatric doctor office in Portland to be evaluated. The doctor in this office removed a lot of sliver material from her foot. A couple of days later our daughter was feeling much better, and was no longer limping on her foot from the pain of the sliver. We were very relieved. We received a bill from Wee Care Pediatrics for $350 for the removal of the SUPERFICIAL slivers in my daughters right foot. $350 for something we could have cared for at home with some tweezers in 1 minute. The bill from the office in Portland, the one where they actually removed the really deep sliver from her left foot, was just a fraction of this cost!! Then, over the course of about 6 months we called Wee Care Pediatrics and explained the situation to them. The best they could do, was take 30% of the bill off. I tried explaining to them my frustration with the situation, and it seemed they just didn't care. I asked them if they could bill it differently so my insurance would cover some of the cost. They didn't change the billing, they didn't care. The billing staff at Wee Care Pediatrics did NOT act in an ethical manner in our situation. They could have changed the way they billed our insurance so we could have some relief from the bill. We like Dr. Hoki, and I really have nothing against him as a doctor. I feel he was just doing us a favor in removing a couple slivers for us so we didn't have to. The billing department manager listened to our story several times, and even took the situation to their upper management, but the only thing they agreed to do was to take the 30% off of our bill. read more

completely appalled at our treatment here. i called before my sons medication ran out and the doctor took days to refill after several calls and complaints. i was transferred to a supervisor without being asked to and was treated so rudely. they've billed us and not our insurance and had to refund us over $1000! do not go here! they are beyond incompetent! read more

WORST CARE EVER! Brought my than 5 year old a couple of times within a week kept getting told she had croup finally demanded an xray because I just knew she didn't have croup. Come to find out she had double pneumonia! No apologies nothing. My child went for almost a week with double pneumonia with no medication because the doctors are constantly changing here and they won't listen to parents. Last time I ever went back. Would not recommend this place. Either wait for your regular doctor to be available or go to the ER. read more

Corrupt billing! I had insurance and they did not properly bill insurance company and caused something to end up on credit.

This is the WORST place to go if you have a sick kid. My daughter was complaining of a sore throat and on Sunday the rancid breath kicked, we knew we were dealing with more than a scratchy throat. Wanting to get the amoxicillin in here sooner rather than later we took her to wee care pediatrics on a Sunday morning. First off the nurse that helped us was not fit to work with kids, my daughter was nervous of, like kids tend to be at the Dr, the nurse wanted her height and weight after she got off the scale she she didn't want to take her shoes off because the floor was dirty and the nurse kept telling her it's not that hard of a request just do it. When the nurse went to swab her throat my daughter was really apprehensive and the nurse told her " you don't have a choice either you work with me and we get it done or you fight me on it and I make it hurt, those are the only two choices you get." After the Dr came in and proceeded to do an exam and we my daughter would ask question about what she was doing, she would say Because I'm a Dr. and this is what happens when you come to the Dr. very poor bedside manner to say the least. She then told us the strep culture was negative and that she could send it out to the lab for further testing if we wanted, I told her yes we did. Just got the call this morning that it was positive for strep. I will never bring my child here again!!!! I will go the the emergency room before I walk in there ever again. They work with kids they should have some patience and compassion and not talk to them like adults. They should also get some Drs. That know what they are doing. I had my daughter pegged for strep the second we woke up Sunday morning. I knew the Dr. was wrong and I don't have a medical degree, just common sense told me. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! read more

These guys are great!! We've been in to see Dr. Husseman and Dr. Hoki and both are awesome! They and the staff are all so nice and make me feel confident in their knowledge and abilities. They also take calls 24/7, which is great because we all know that health issues don't wait for the next business day and may not warrant the emergency room. read more

Wee Care continuously provides the worst care for our family, each time we have gone to the Layton clinic we are told nothing is wrong, although a full exam hasn't been done, today I had to ask the doctor to look inside my sons mouth to see if his throat was swollen or red, because two days prior my son just had his adenoids taken out and I was worried he might have an infection. "I stated to Dr. Hokie that his breath smelt horrible could he have an infection, or strep?" He then proceeded to tell me, "well you didn't tell me that..... " I just thought to myself, hmmm do your job and do a full exam and look in your patients mouth! After he looked into his mouth he said he didn't see any redness or swelling, that it was just poor hygiene. So of course that instantly pissed me off considering each dentist visit we've had they said his teeth and mouth are perfect! After we left my gut told me that something else was wrong than just a viral infection. So the next day I took my son to his ENT and sure enough the and an infection from his surgery! I will NEVER go to Wee Care again, let alone be paying that bill they send me!! Worst doctors I've ever encountered in my life! read more

We made an appt with Wee care as an urgent visit. They said the appt was at 10:40, so my wife takes work off and we head over. We check in and after people who arrived after us have already been seen and have left we were still waiting with a sick child. We ended up waiting for 50 mins before we asked for out co pay back and then we went to IHC Urgent care and were seen right away. Don't take your kids here. read more
