Honestly not a great experience. We went because we heard they had a lot of dresses and it was no more than the store we went to before. The one dress we saw online and wanted they didn't even have at the store. The woman who helped us didn't really even help. I would expect for us to say what we were liking and to pull some because she knows her inventory but that didn't happen. She couldn't really get the dresses to pin correctly. It just wasn't a great experience overall. She was clinical and not the experience we were hoping for. For a $40 appointment fee I'd say go elsewhere. read more

I was at Debbies on Saturday,3/15, and I was SO excited to try on dresses there, as my sister, her wife, and both of my best friends had gotten their dresses from Debbies. I grew up in Katy and was very excited to experience the other side of the chair with them. Unfortunately, my bridal consultant Sabrina was over 10 minutes late (we were 10 minutes early- waited 20/25 minutes) and had been called to the podium 4/5 times before she showed up. I was given a cheap bottle of brut and a lindor chocolate bar, which was the "bridal goodies" they talk up over the phone. I can forgive tardiness, what I cannot forgive is the rudeness Sabrina gave us. She put me in 3 dresses before deciding my parties reaction was not good enough- and told my mother, my two best friends and my sister to "validate" that I at least looked good in what she put me in, even though before this she told me to envision the dress because she wasn't going to have much in my size. I am a curvier girl. (12/14) but I figured WBD, would have a good selection. They did not. Sabrina then put me in to a robe to go speak to her sales manager because apparently my vision was very specific. When she came back, we walked around the store, and she took me to one spot and said "I know the dresses here will fit you." I am a confident woman, but anyone would feel terrible after being body shamed during an appointment you were looking forward to, and for one of the most important dresses of your life. That sealed the deal for me, I allowed her to put me in a couple more dresses before she ultimately gave up- I had mentioned one dress- at a previous appointment that I did like, as I'd never tried them on before, and she took that as I'd found my dress and she didn't need me to waste her time, or play "dress up" as she said. Overall, totally disappointed and heartbroken that I was treated so poorly, when everyone before me recommended them, and I was so excited. If you are even a little bit curvier, do NOT go here- you will be body shamed and made to feel like a shell of who you are. read more

I had an amazing experience at Weddings by Debbie! It was my first place to try on dresses, so I didn't know what to expect but they exceeded my expectations. My consultant, Amy, reached out beforehand to get an idea of what dress I was looking for. When I got there, she had about 5 dresses pulled based off of that information, but we were also able to look around the thousands of dresses in the shop to pull from any of those. The shop is very large and organized well by section of the store (shopping, fittings, etc.). The dress I ended up picking was on Amy had originally pulled. I love it so much and I would say they were all reasonably priced for what I expect a wedding dress to cost! We decided to customize one part of the dress, and AJ and Amy helped come up with a plan for that so that I would be fully satisfied. Right from the start, she gave me the run down of the dresses, price ranges, etc. I immediately knew I was going to vibe with Andrea, also bc she has a cool name. She was realistic about my options, didn't pressure me in any way, and she made sure I was happy and confident. I was so lucky to have Andrea because there was another party next to us, and their consultant didn't even help the bride!! This place has a huge selection of wedding dresses but awful service. I was recommended Weddings by Debbie by a friend who had her wedding dress picked out here and I feel really bad about writing this but my experience was so awful that I have to be honest. My stylist was Jean and she did not listen to what I wanted at all. She kept pulling styles that I did not want and specifically told her I did not want to try on. She went on to push me to buy a dress very aggressively that I did not feel certain on. She also brought up her own political opinions which I found very unprofessional, saying that people do not deserve healthcare if they cannot afford to pay for it. Regardless of your political beliefs, I do not think it should be brought up during a bridal appointment. Ultimately this place rubbed me very much the wrong way because of the service. My husband told me about this store and I scheduled an appointment and went to this store in August 2019. The lady that was helping me out was very helpful but brought me a lot of dresses that were smaller, so I couldn't really see how I would look on the dresses. Therefore, I chose a dress that actually fit me and I loved. I ordered it and the store told me that it would arrive around October. I was waiting for my dress and didn't know that my dress had arrived a month later. This got me upset because my wedding was being planned in a period of 4 months so them not calling me or giving me an apology or a discount at least would've helped me be happier with them. When I finally called and knew my dress had been sitting in the store for over a month I went to try it out. My dress was perfect. I didn't think I needed any alterations. But the lady said it was a little bit big from my breast area. To be honest when I saw the alterers I thought to myself, hmm I would think that at this store they would have professionals alterers since it is a very nice store. Well, since I thought this is a very nice store they must have good alterers. Well I listened and trusted the woman about fixing my dress. To make long story shorter, after the alterations, my dress changed a lot. My dress used to give me a nice curve. After alterations, I thought this is a different dress. This is not my dress!!! I tried to compare the pics of before the alterations and after and I thought it does look the same from the beads. But My dress changed completely after alterations. I should've had never trusted those ladies and they still charged an arm and a leg, for what? Just to ruin my dress. At the day of my wedding and in my pictures, my dress made me look as if I was pregnant. The curve it had before alterations was gone but on the contrary it made like a bag or bump on my stomach that made me look pregnant. I was scared of my family to think I was pregnant, and that is even me wearing a "faja" underneath. I honestly wish I can sue this place because it ruined my wedding!! This is the least I can do, to write a review and my experience with this place. They value aethstetics and being "upscale and swanky" and really don't care about their brides experience or needs or their entourages at all. Before I went in, I thought I'd already had my dress picked out at another store. But boy was I in for a surprise, when my consultant Jeanette picked out a dress based on what I described I was looking for. Sure enough I said YES TO THE DRESS! My beautiful Essences of Australia dress. My dress came in, in plenty of time for me to have my alterations done and that experience was just as pleasing as my shopping experience. As other reviewers have mentioned, the selection here is wonderful and my sales lady was a doll. After purchasing the dress everything about this place went downhill. I decided on my dress in November and it arrived in January. They called me to schedule a viewing of the dress. Not a fitting or alteration appointment, just trying it on and seeing myself in it. Despite me requesting to go ahead and schedule alterations, the catty woman on the phone would NOT do as I requested. So, I drive way out there after work on a weekday. I had to be sure to go out there on one of the nights that they are open late, as I work until 6 Downtown. I barely made it out there by closing time. I tried on the dress and it fit like a glove! It only need to be hemmed. Phew, I thought, what a relief to know the alterations won't cost a fortune. So as I'm leaving I ask if I may schedule my alterations appt. The catty gal tells me "we typically do alterations this many weeks before the wedding so March 15?" I then tell her that I am on a rodeo committee and I want to do the alterations before March so that I don't have to go all of the way out there during rodeo where I am typically going out to the show every other day or so. Reluctantly, she puts me in the appointment book on a weekday in February. When I show up for my first alterations appointment in February I put my dress on and the alterations lady immediately says she cannot do the work because the dress must be pressed before we alter the length. I asked the girl at the desk why it wasn't pressed for this appointment and was given excuses. This appointment was a total bust. I honestly think they just made this fake appointment with no intention of starting my alterations. If they told me "well typically what we do is..." one more time... I was going to scream. I don't care what you typically do. My weight does not fluctuate, I am not on a diet, I know my dress will fit me no matter when we do the alterations. I come back for my next appointment smack in the middle of rodeo, exactly when I said I did NOT want to come. The alterations lady pins away and I owe $525 for altering only the length. THEN I had to pay like $200 for the bustle?! So over $700 in alterations for a dress that fit me perfectly other than the length. I hope to never step foot in this store again. I found most of the employees here catty, rude and difficult to work with. I felt like I was in a bitchy sorority house. I highly recommend Ventura's at 610 and Yale. Those ladies are so nice and don't have bad attitudes, elitist behavior, or sticks up their butts. read more

Our appointment started 15 minutes late because our consultant was dealing with another bride to be. No substitutes. No welcomes by another person. We just stood there in the hallway, with fifteen other people. Totally awkward. The consultants were all wearing flip flops and t-shirts that were bedazzled to say 'Weddings by Debbie' -- Really? This is what we wear to work trying to sell dresses that cost thousands of dollars? Our consultant showed us around the floor, showed us where the Lorenzos, Ariana Huffingtons and Santana gowns are (which meant absolutely nothing to us). We told our consultant, Jean, what we were looking for. Jean did not show us a single dress. She did not make a single recommendation. She sort of threw us into the room with a ton of other women, we didn't even have a reserved area for just our consultation. She didn't put our friend in the dresses. She barely clipped her in. She didn't help her out of the room. She didn't arrange the dress for her. She just walked in and out of the room, put away other dresses and basically ignored us. Hugely disappointed. It was not an intimate experience. It was absolutely chaotic. There were so many gowns and we had no idea what they were. Where they were. So many women. So little space. The lighting is absolutely terrible inside the gallery. The seating was all dirty and spilled on (yuck!). For this experience you would think that there would be a price break, but no. You get treated like shit and you will pay for it. Now I understand why the boutique experience is so much better than the Walmart of bridal shops. This was ridiculous. Never. Ever. Again. They require you to make a reservation with a credit card, but they don't say how much they will charge you if you don't show up. Can we charge them for the 15 minutes we waited? Lena was very attentive and patient with me while I tried on all the possible choices, she and the entire staff were so friendly and professional. This is where I purchased my wedding gown in October 2014. I had been to 6 other bridal shops (one in Los Angeles), so I already knew what I was looking for- I am very particular. I had an appointment and came on a Saturday morning with my aunt right when they opened. I only had to wait a few minutes before Amanda came to help me look for dresses. She gave me an initial tour and then let me wander around a bit while browsing dresses to try on. She frequently came to help guide me to dresses that she thought I would like based on my criteria. She was very helpful throughout the whole experience. She didn't push any dresses on me and was understanding when I gave a dress a hard pass. The store is sectioned by designer. There is also a clearance section. They have lots of trumpet and mermaid style dresses which is very popular these days. They have a good range of prices, but there are definitely a few designer sections which were quite pricey and I avoided. I ended up trying a 2015 Pronovias Bia dress they had on the mannequin. They told me that they have a special relationship with Pronovias and often get "futures". The try-on area is in the center of the store in an open area. It's divided by mirrors and tufted couches. You can see other brides and entourages. That's nice- in a way- to see other styles of dresses without actually trying them on. There was plenty of space to be comfortable- not crowded. Amanda helped take photos as well. The Bia is the dress I purchased. I received 10% off the dress since it was my first time there. AJ came and took my measurements and I signed a bunch of paperwork. I paid in full for the dress, but I think you can put just a 50 or 75% deposit. They told me that the dress would take 6 months to come in. It actually took about 3.5 months or so. AJ gave me estimates on alterations. The store may be above average in pricing- I am not sure since I don't get alterations on a regular basis. I am going to take my dress offsite though, so I won't be able to comment on their services. Since my dress had a pink tulle layer, I asked if they could find some sample fabric for me to help me later choose accessories. Amanda took down my contact info and requested the samples from the designer. Amanda sent me the tulle samples in the mail. I was quite pleased they took the time to do this special request for me. Amanda is great! WBD will store your dress for you until you need it. I think that is great! I am going this weekend to try on my dress for the first time. Fingers crossed it fits! I made an appointment for a "try-on". You need to schedule a longer appointment if you want to try the dress on and have someone help you look for accessories. Weekend appointments fill fast, so plan ahead. There is a decent-sized bridesmaid dress section. Separate appointments are needed. read more

Very disappointed I was told to come in at a specific time for my sister to pick out a great dress. Having a cousin come here before we expected nothing but the best. However, we were given a time on a Monday to come in. We drove down from Dallas just to find out that the time and day they had given us was a waist as they had closed the store ? We tried to get ahold of someone or even leave a message ... but the phone continued a repeat of information and music and after 45 minutes of waiting we got online and found a great location for having a dress made in the Woodlands. She contacted me before my appointment to get an idea of what I was looking for so that she could have dresses ready for me when I got there, which was great! We walked around and found a few others that I wanted to try as well. I had a great experience getting my wedding dress from Weddings by Debbie. During the initial appointment, my consultant helped me find quite a few dresses that were my style (at least 10) and was enthusiastic the entire time. They have an incredibly large selection of dresses, more than any other shop I went to. I was able to find the perfect dress for my style and body type. After my initial try on with my sized dress, I decided that I wanted to add cap sleeves to my sleeveless dress. The seamstress was able to find the perfect lace to match the rest of my dress and add the sleeves. The sleeves fit great and it looked like the dress was made that way, she did an incredible job. Weddings by Debbie was able to accomodate many of my requests with the dress and I ended up with a perfectly fitted, stunning dress! read more

She was absolutely amazing from start to finish - from the initial phone call, she was super perky and dedicated to helping me find the perfect dress. She requested photos of dresses I like and my Pinterest page so she could prepare for our consultation. When I arrived, she introduced herself to me and all of my ladies (shaking every one of their hands). She remembered names and tried to make everyone feel included. From start to finish Weddings by Debbie was amazing. Jeanette was my consultant and was amazing at helping me find my dress shirt notice. They have an awesome selection to choose from at different price points. They offer a discount if you purchase same day as your initial try-on appointment. Alterations department did an AWESOME job. I couldn't be happier with the final results. They were so kind and got everything done for me in time for my wedding. I bought my wedding dress from Weddings by Debbie. I had not planned on buying it from WbD because they weren't carrying the designer that I wanted (hellooo Monique Lhullier!), but one of my friends suggested trying it anyway. The dressing area isn't quite as glam as Louise Blum, but it's still somewhat fancy and makes you feel like the bride that you are! The lady that helped me was Paula, and she was wonderful. She didn't try to force certain dresses on me, and let me try on anything that I wanted. She was very helpful, I give her 5 stars! WbD has a very diverse selection of dresses, from the very affordable to the very expensive. I ended up getting a dress by Justina McCaffrey, whom one of the owners of the store went to design school with- imagine that! The owner-lady was easy to work with, but I had one problem. Every time I called them to check on my dress order (when it would be there, etc.), I never got a straight answer. My now-husband had to finally call them because obviously I was getting nowhere. The designer had sent the wrong sash (I wanted pale pink, they sent ivory) and WbD had to get the right sash and put it on. In the end I got my dress, and everything was wonderful. WbD has a seamstress who does alterations, and a cleaning/steaming/pressing department that will fix up your dress before bridal portrais and before the wedding day. read more

My review has two parts: The first part of the reviefw I would give 4 stars: When I came in for my intital consultation to try on dresses, my consultant was really great. They give you your own space and allow you to go through all the dresses on your own (if thats what you want) and really give you lots of time and attention. My specific consultant, after kind of seeing my style and tastes, was able to get the manager to allow me to try on a gown that had some in THAT DAY, they didnt have pricing or anything on it yet. Well, it ended up being the dress I chose. My mom wasnt able to make it that day, and they do a special that if you buy your dress on your first appt, you get a 15% discount. They even allowed me to come back with my mom so she could see me in the dress, and still honored the discount. Up to this point, great experience. Now the reason for the two stars. Once my dress came in, I went it for a "try it on" appt. That went great.. and during this appt I asked the consultant if I should go ahead and make my alterations appt (we were about 5 months from the wedding at this point), and she said "no, alterations dont start until 6 weeks before the wedding. We will store it here to you till that time." So ok, I put 8 weeks down in my calendar to book the appt and get it done. I call that exact day to book my appt, and the alterations department tells me they book up over 2 months in advance. They couldnt even fit me in for one appt before my wedding. Then they offered me some "rush service" that was going to be several hundred dollars additional. I was very upset. If its common to book up like that, why would the consultant not tell me to book my appt then. There was NO MENTION of this at all. When I went to pickup my dress to bring it to another alteration location, they handed it to me in the plastic dry cleaning type bags. SERIOUSLY? A 5 thousand dollar dress in some throw away plastic. They told me they didnt have a bag for it. I call BS on that one. All in all, I wouldnt go back. I am sure there are plenty of other bridal salons that would do a much better job. read more

Over priced and pushy. The store is huge. Their bridesmaid dress area is disorganized. If your budget is over $2K for a dress, this is a nice place to go. The experience of trying on dresses was fun, to an extent. When my consultant kept pushing accessories that didn't look good on me and pressuring me to make a decision soon or I won't get a discount was the huge put off. read more

I had a decent - good experience at Weddings by Debbie, To my knowledge, they were the first store to get the Pronovias 2012 line in November of 2011. Ventura bridal and Brickhouse Bridal were getting theirs in weeks later, and I had little time to spare. They were having a trunk show, and I got 15% off the dress which was awesome. I had to put down 75% of the dress at the time of purchase, and although Lena was a nice consultant, mailing me a hand written thank you etc., I really think my sister and I found the dress ourselves. When I bought the dress, they made me feel nice and gave me all the ooh's and ahhh's of wedding dress shopping, but they are still very busy and hard to schedule with, making you feel like 'just another bride..' I think they make the effort to prevent this, but its hard to combat with how big of a salon they are. I will commend their ordering department, they give crazy brides a piece of mind and are super on top of things. This is in fact priceless, and they were so good at communicating with me frequently regarding the status of my wedding dress and the bridesmaids dress I ordered from B2. They left frequent voicemails and always returned my calls. I have heard terrible things about their alterations department, and took my dress to my own seamstress. They do offer to steam the dress one time complimentary, which was not necessary because my seamstress did this for me multiple times at no extra cost. I definitely recommend checking Weddings by Debbie out at least once, just because of the large selection and variety of designers and costs. They are also super knowledgeable and the store is very clean for those of you picky about that kind of thing. read more
