We went to a range of dance studios for intro lessons, as both my partner and I have not learned dance before, and we want to find the right teacher who can get us up to speed quickly. All I had was Yelp reviews to go off so we called and asked for one lesson to see how it went. All we needed was that one time to know that she was our gal. Anne-Marie is somehow all business yet warm and personable at the same time. She asked what our venue, my dress, and our vision were. We got married in a cathedral in France and then had our reception in a castle. Our performance had to be grand. We signed up for the 10 lesson package after our first lesson and every week, she came prepared with new choreography, sometimes with choices on variations for us. She was caring and helpful and truly cared that we did well. By about the 7th lesson, we had finished the dance and spent the last few perfecting it. She critiques and helps in a positive manner. When our wedding day came, we nailed it and were thrilled! We got a ton of compliments on our dance-it was all kind of a blur but I definitely remember people cheering and clapping throughout. Good to note- My husband and I had been to other dance studios but they force you to share rooms with other couples even during private lessons.
