Andrew and his team are THE greatest. This is, by FAR, the best place I've ever taken my car to. For many years before moving north, he provided great service for my vehicles. Always straight-up, no BS, no upselling, just plain facts about what your car does and doesn't need. Repairs were always perfect and well-priced. Not to mention the fact that Andrew is just a great guy in general. He truly cares about making sure your vehicle is in good shape but he also genuinely cares about his customers. After I left town, my mom continued to take her car to him for service. I appreciate the fact that he always treated her like family. Every visit was pleasant and she always called me to let me know that he asked her about me and my family. Mom is now up north with us. Well, I couldn't have honestly foreseen a day when I would actually write a glowing review for a…read moreauto dealer that was a "Buy Here, Pay Here" business. In my previous career I was constantly warning people about them and the "Hidden Prices", "Sales Agendas", and "Smile at you while shopping, forget who you are upon Sale or Contract" and total lack of compassion "God help you or our Tow Truck will be there" mentality. Parks Auto Sales at 3804 Rozzelles Ferry Road in Charlotte, NC (980) 859-0480 has PROVEN themselves to be the exception in my experience. In my situation I was totally unaware it was a Buy Here, Buy Here, used car dealer; I was merely looking for a reliable and dependable vehicle within my price range and they had an ad on their web site showing one though just a little above what I was looking to pay but the vehicle had a CAR FAX report which I always would recommend to any buyer. I was a couple of hours away so before I went there I asked about a negotiated price which the owner, co-owner felt they could work with as this would be CASH deal and if I liked the car and bought it, would pay by check and pick up end of week after they had been assured the check cleared and I had made ride arrangements. The CAR FAX report I verified and was pretty much as advertised EXCEPT the ad listed it had a GPS which the one I was looking at did not. ALL other accessories were on the vehicle and in working condition. The vehicle had been well maintained and drove smoothly, but I noted the windshield was cracked. Since my intent was travel, GPS was a big deal and co-owner agreed it was a mistake when entered as the equipped package typically DID HAVE a GPS but original owner must have opted out of it. I was seriously debating whether to keep shopping and thank them for their time or see what terms we could come to that might entice me, as long as they likewise agreed to replace the windshield. We successfully found a middle ground and I wrote out a check and would pick up the vehicle on that Friday. On the Friday, things went smoothly, all paperwork was in order and I drove the car home. At this point I will point out they had a new office employee who was there handling everything and the ONLY thing that slipped through the crack was a TEMPORARY permit on the back. I "PRESUMED" that was a given when getting a car, but was a "New Guy" oversight that ended up without any consequences. The owner and I have remained in touch and he stands by what he sells 100%. Mind you when sold "AS IS" means just that, in this case with Parks, you get a AUTOFAX report which is genuine when available. The vehicle is checked over carefully before it is even offered for sale. There is NO "bait and hook" deception and it was a very pleasant experience to find a used car dealer and especially one that offers BUY HERE PAY HERE. After a career spanning 24 years where I typically involved more than I care to count with places my subordinates had dealt with, and NEVER thinking I would even consider doing so; in all honesty I finally found one I wouldn't JUST recommend but would HIGHLY RECOMMEND! YES, they are THAT HONEST. As a disclaimer I want to make it perfectly clear I have been in NO WAY compensated for this review, and the owner himself can tell you I am blunt but upfront honest. I found the owner to likewise be a very HONORABLE and HONEST man. At almost 77 I have dealt with all sorts of new car, used car dealers and as stated been in situations involving this type of dealership BUT this is ONE that stands ABOVE them all.
