From the start, there were problems with my booking and I was placed in the wrong room. The room I ended up in had no window and it genuinely felt like being in a dungeon. On top of that, there was visible mold around the windows, the sink was rusty and falling apart, which feels like a safety concern, and the entire room smelled strongly of mildew.
I understand Miami's humidity can cause wear and tear, but I've stayed in multiple places here and have never experienced anything like this, especially not needing a dehumidifier in the room.
I also have severe asthma and staying in that environment has left me dealing with the aftermath of breathing in what smelled like mold all night. That alone made this experience much more serious for me.
To make matters worse, I even found a roach on the floor. I have photos to back all of this up. At that point, I was honestly just disgusted.
I've had great experiences in the past, which is why this was so surprising. But this time it felt like more attention was given to the restaurant than to the actual guests staying at the hotel.
