Never in my 54 years have I experienced such truly awful customer service - not just completely unreasonable, but insulting, threatening and damaging. From the very beginning of our correspondence weeks ago right through to today, their tone has consistently been highly unpleasant and confrontational. They have sent me a string of emails telling me I am a liar, bullying and threatening me in numerous ways. These emails have not just been due to one person having a bad day. Multiple people at the company have threatened and insulted me day after day. What started all this was that they charged me for a hosting service that I never received and at the time of the charge they knew they could not provide me with the service because I had already migrated all my domains away from them. I gave them good warning that I would dispute the charge with my credit card company if they did not remove it. I did so and my credit card company found in my favor and did a chargeback. Their response has been remarkable. First, they say they have sent the bill to collections. Second, they have repeatedly promised they will take me court - not just one suit but two: one for "defamation" and another for "fraud" for lying to my credit card company. Third, after finding out I am an ethics professor, they said they would lodge a complaint with the "administrative department" of my university about my unethical conduct. Not only have I been entirely honest but I have repeatedly tried to move past the insults and threats to explain my perspective to them. I even sent them summaries from chatGPT and Google Gemini explaining why the chargeback was justified. They were never willing to consider my perspective, and were instead extremely aggressive and insulting. As an illustration, instead of responding to the points I had just made, one email began "Blah Blah Blah You are a liar and a thief Ethics professor who teaches not to lie but does it himself YOU ARE A HYPOCRITE." The last email I received was just one line long: "Have fun staying in collections !!!!" They are holding to the line that their terms and conditions say I had to cancel before the renewal date in the way they specified. It is true I didn't do that. I never claimed to have done so. It doesn't matter. Not only did the circumstances provide more than sufficient reason for my credit card company to do a chargeback, but charging for a service you know you cannot provide amounts to deceptive billing. Stay away from these unprofessional scammers. Their invoice notices for my upcoming 3 year renewal went to my spam inbox and went unnoticed until they charged me today. So I immediately contacted them and asked them to cancel my service and refund me as I was not interested in the substantial price increase or another 3 years of service. Their response was that I was given two renewal notices and that I had signed an agreement for auto-renewal (back in 2014) and that they would refuse to cancel my service and refund the $200 that was charged to my card, despite my request literally happening hours after they submitted the charge. After insisting they won't refund and cancel the service, I informed them I would simply dispute it with my credit card company, which I did. Then they promptly said they would send it to collections and tack on their legal team fees to the debt I apparently owed. Then they canceled my account and can no longer access my account and will be charged for 3 years of service I'll never receive nonetheless. This is bad business. Period. I could see being reluctant to refund a charge days, weeks or months after it occurring, but this was literally on the exact day of the billing cycle. Stay far far away from these scammers who don't know what good business is. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB and now looking into filing a complaint with the FTC as it seems quite a few people are having similar predatory billing issues. THESE PEOPLE ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST!! As with other Reviewers, I ran into a billing problem and there was zero interest on their part to resolve it. Notice of pending renewal billing went unnoticed into my spam box and I was not aware of anything until I noticed a pending charge on my credit card. It was on the day of renewal so I went online and cancelled my renewal and requested a refund of the charged amount. From there things went downhill fast. They cancelled my service but flat refused to offer a refund. When I indicated I would take up the matter with my credit card company, they threatened to hit me with arbitrator fees and chargeback fees. Then they threatened to turn it over to collections and damage my credit rating! So in summary, I receive NO service and NO refund. When you read previous reviews, you will find the same complaints going back a decade. Now I am waiting to hear from my credit card company and from Webhostingidiots Collection Company and will deal with them head-on. They refuse to credit back for services for the next three years (2017 to 2020). Credit card company called with me and they gave them the run around too. Im completely shocked by the unprofessionalism of this company. After using them for 5 years they randomly start shutting down my WHOLE ACCOUNT WITH NO NOTICE GIVEN every other month. I have over 10 websites I use to make a living and they shut everything down and lock access to the host login. Only communication can be email. First they say my brand new unedited Wordpress template is sending out too many requests and slowing their servers. So they just suspended the whole hosting account instead of presenting the problem to me to fix. I have them turn it back on (I made no new changes) and this site isnt ever an issue again...weird. Then the last few time the server was target to hackers for an unknown reason. The company shut down the account and deleted all backups. Right now they wont give me access to their host and deleted everything on the server, including backups, permanently!!!! I am losing money every second. Worst host ever. They shut you down without reason or resolution. Contacting them is difficult. "Unlimited" is nowhere near what they claims. Slow loading times (especially C-Panel!!!). They delete your backups, shut down all access, and tell you they cant host you and need a new host. Karma will make sure they are put out of business and indebted permanently! read more

I been with Webhostingpad for 5+ years and their service quality has turned for the worse. * Just this past month I had my account shutoff with no warning (everything was paid up to date). * I noticed my sites speed is terrible due to server latency. * When you buy an SSL cert, the best they can give you is a C grade SSL service due to their server configuration. I complained about this but they don't even know why. * They clam to have a 99% uptime which they're no where near meeting. My site has went offline everyday for the past 2 months. * I had MySQL server connection issues and was not able to connect to the database. * I asked them to move my site and they completely broke it because they neglected to move my SSL cert with the site. Even to this day my normal HTTP traffic will not work and they blame it on my cache. I confirmed this is not my cache but to everyone that tries to access my site. * Most recently my email service stopped working 5 days ago, which I opened a ticket and still yet to receive a response. I even sent them a facebook message and a tweet. They have no support on Sundays! UPDATE: when they moved my server they never updated the mx record or told me that I had to do this myself. I'm so over this terrible service, all the above took place in a month. Don't even get me started on what I been through in a year with this horrible company. I canceled this account THREE YEARS AGO! After several calls -- including a very friendly CSR -- I THINK I have convinced Webhostingpad.com to not charge my credit card. However, I will not be convinced until I get my next CC statement. FWIW, I canceled them because they were absolutely unhelpful in my aborted quest to switch to Drupal. It is a horrible , night mare. ssl certificates keep getting messed up resulting in customers thinking we are out of business. They usually mes up not auto renewing the SSL until we call them ( since site DOWN.) This year, they billed us last month for SSL , but did NOT update it. We contacted them 2 weeks ago and they have just been making excuses. . Wow! Stay away from webhostingpad if you care about your domains and your credit score. That "cheap" webhosting company cost me not only to lose a domain name but also to get sent to a debt collector (for the first time in my life) - for an account that they had acknowledged as cancelled (*before* the renewal date). I initially purchased a 2-year plan and transferred one domain name to them to test the waters. Less than a year later my domain name expired. Without a single notification or invoice being sent to me. Yes, I should have been tracking that date but (silly me) I expected Webhostingpad to do it for me, like all other web hosting companies I've ever dealt with. The answer from their unapologetic support? "If you paid your bill then it would have renewed". Obviously no one told them that a "sorry to hear" can go a long way. Of course they wouldn't give me any pro-rated refund on the remaining time on my account but that, to be frank, was expected. So I just waited. When contract was up for renewal I cancelled. And the circus started again. They first tried to retain me with a discount then eventually acknowledged termination (before the service start date)... and charged me the full amount nevertheless! I thought it was a honest mistake on their part but they refused to revert the charge. At that point I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge... and a month later Webhostingpad sent me a debt collector with an inflated bill... If you want a cheap hosting provider, you may want to hear this first - a collection agent bill of $120+ for two day of service. With Webhostingpad email service, my friend found her email jammed with junk mails. webhostingpad up-sold her with the anti-spamming service but after a while, she did not realize any improvement. She got an email from webhostingpad that the annual renewal charge to her credit card failed, and asked her to pay manually. She decided to file a cancellation instead. The next day, webhostingpad filed a new credit card charge for the renewal fee. But why they flip flop and filed the charge again! After not much success with the customer support, she disputed the charge with the credit card company and the credit card company reversed the charge. The nightmare however just began. Without hearing anything from webhhostingpad again, my friend received a bill from a collection agent for a charge of over $120 including a credit card charge back fee of $50 and $20 collection agent fee. Webhostingpad does not resolve the issue with my friend or the credit card company first but trying to intimate her with a collection agency. After reading the other reviews here, it seems that it is not a single incident. Please read other reviews to see what services/business practices that you sign up for. Do not use Web Hosting Pad or their sister service VPS Depot. You have been warned. Their customer service is non existent and borderline insulting. You will not be able to get technical support over the phone. Instead you will have to correspond via email which wouldn't be a problem if it didn't take 24 hours for them to respond to each email. When they do respond, they will not answer questions. They will simply "do things" in the background to try and fix problems. Often times it has nothing to do with your original request. Good luck trying to cancel your account with them as well. When we cancelled it took several emails and phone calls to get them to process the cancellation request. read more

I was hosted with webhostingpad 5 years ago. They were down... a lot... and after a year I switched to a different hosting company who has been awesome. I was told there was no ability to refund the balance of my money (I paid up front for a 5 year term to save a few dollars with their $1.99/mo deal). Today I received an invoice for $191 from them!!! When I emailed back that I had left their service years ago, they said I would have to go to their website and log in to cancel the subscription. After 4 years, I haven't a clue what my password is. Calling got a "the number you called is unassigned" message and the chat feature gave me a 404 error. Even the "password reset" feature wasn't working. Eventually, despite numerous requests to just cancel the service, someone sent me a new password and I got to navigate through a very non-intuitive series of links and hopefully have left forever. Given my customer service experience with them, and the horrible service from their hosting servers, I would suggest pretty much anyone other than webhostingpad.com. read more

My first Yelp review but after my experience with Webhostingpad I just cannot remain silent. The other reviews are spot on. I tried to cancel automatic renewal of their service after being a customer for 5 years and was unsuccessful. You cannot get past their first level of trained "no" people on the phone. Support ticket and written correspondence were completely ignored. This went on for months. Finally my credit card company conferenced me in with their billing manager (because as merely a Webhostingpad customer they won't talk to you directly). The bottom line is that after being told by the billing manager (paraphrasing), "we have your money and we don't care if we billed you for service in advance that you don't want we're not going to give it back" the credit card company rep said she never encountered such an attitude from any merchant. The credit card company felt so strongly that I was in the right that they ended up eating the $161 charge themselves and credited it back to my account. Do NOT use Webhostingpad. Don't ever do a business with this company. Let me describe my story: I purchased a hosting share plan with Wedhostingpad on 08/15/2014. Four days later, 08/19/2014 my CPanel log-in was down and I received an email from them saying my account was suspended WITHOUT ANY NOTICE OR WARNING and without a reason. I contacted them via chat panel and they told me the only way to resolve the problem is emailing. I then email to support team and got the respond that I need to open the ticket, but since then I absolutely can not access to my Cpanel. Then I log in to my billing account and open the ticket. I later receive a respond all tey say:' Your account was suspended. Please follow the ticket for result. Your ticket is now closed'. Right after that my billing account was down and I can not access to it anymore. I contacted to billing dept. and submit the refund request. They refused to refund even thought their policy is 30 day money back guarantee UNCONDITIONAL. Now, I had a hard time to deal with them. I have to say webhostingpad.com is by far the worst hosting company I have ever used. My most recent problem occurred twice. They get a report from SpamCop that my domain name is in the FROM of many spam emails, webhostingpad simply suspends my website without looking at the spam email. Either they don't understand the header of an email or they are just to lazy to analyze the problem. The problem is actually that someone is sending out a bunch of spam email from another server (not the one my website is on) using a FROM address with my domain name. That is easy to do. If they would look at the email header they would see the IP address of the server that sent out the email is not the one for my website. The last time it was from a server in Russia. I have had (because they are cheap) 5 account with them. I have moved all but one to real hosting companies because of their extremely bad service. I hold on as long as I can before I move because you can not get your money back for unused account time like most other hosting companies provide. 2 words - stay away read more

I was working on my website on 12.26.2015 that was to launch today 1/1/2016. I was having issues with some changes so I decided to restore my site from a known good backup from 12.20.2015 - when the restore completed my entire site was gone. Tech support was extremely unresponsive and my site is still not up after almost a week - i have escalated this matter to management there and no response. the only good backups of my site are now missing along with 10gb of data that I have no idea what support deleted. tech support has done more harm than good. I have no idea how my site got destroyed by doing a restore and neither did tech support. they are incompetent in getting my site back up and have lost my only good backups. tech support is extremely hard to reach. they advertise 24/7 support via email chat or phone -but they purposely tie up these means so that it is nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone during an emergency. i tried to call the phone support - no one available with a message to go online for emergencies - i go online and support is unavailable - i email and i do not get a response - on more than one occasion when i did get through to online chat, the support staff would not disconnect after i said i was done to purposely make himself or chat unavailable to anyone else. this company said they have 99% plus up-time but my site prior to being destroyed by them has been unavailable for hours at a time on at least 3-4 occasions within a 3 month period. if feel that this company misrepresented themselves and the quality of their services because it is nothing but garbage. read more

BEWARE!!!!! Avoid this company at all cost! I decided not to renew my account with Webhostingpad when my three year contract lapsed because of their poor quality of service (my website went down often for no reason, and their web site building software is cumbersome and not user-friendly at all), they charged my account $186.00 for another three years anyway without my authorization. When I complained, they issued me a refund, but they posted the refund to a credit card that was not mine! They apologized, but then refused to refund my money anyway. I called and asked for a refund and was denied, so I asked to speak to a manager and was informed that she WAS the manager, and that I could contact the CEO if I wanted but he would deny my refund as well. I received NOTHING for my $186.00. They took my money and gave me NOTHING in return. I will have to dispute the charge with my credit card company.
