Located outside of Ramstein AB, the restaurant is an authentic German restaurant with a touch of Americanism. The interior is one of a traditional German village eating establishment, but being located close to an American base, it make concessions such a menu with pictures and English to make it easier to order. The "Stammtisch" (German for "regulars' table) is not a table, but a section of bar. Great traditional fare with accompanying beer or wine. I dined on the traditional schnitzel and it did not disappoint as it was accompanied by a great local beer. Keep room for dessert and some schnapps to help with the digestion. I ordered the rump steak with herb butter and onions. I thought the prices were a bit expensive, but this was also my first time ordering a steak in Germany, so $18 for this meal might be normal? I ordered my steak to be cooked Medium. I'm okay with a steak that is medium to medium rare, so I thought it was cooked fine. My mom ordered her steak medium rare, and it was definitely more towards the rarer side. If I visit here again, I would order the rump steak with garlic butter, no onions, and medium. After reading Jim W.'s review, we hopped in the car and headed here for dinner. This place didn't disappoint. Everything was great from service to food. Started with the house salad. Fresh, crisp lettuce and veggies with a delightful house salad dressing Thomas has used for quite awhile. I had a rump steak with garlic butter. Fantastic until the last bite. I was a little skeptical on getting beef here, but this will keep my Colorado heart happy while we are here! Cooked medium rare and to perfection. During a visit to a different restaurant, one of the guys I work with told me that it wasn't that he didn't like schnitzel, it's just that most places only do an okay job of it. I agreed, and added that I generally won't get schnitzel at a restaurant unless I trusted that they would do a great job of it. Which brings us to Weberstuebchen. I went here twice on that work trip, which is generally something I don't like to do when I'm in a new place (usually I like to try as many restaurants as possible and don't make repeat visits). I had heard great things about this place (thanks Yelp!) and decided to give it a try. On the first visit, I ordered the Jaegerschnitzel with potatoes, all of which was cooked to perfection and coated with a layer of savory mushroom gravy. Washing that down with the local beer and a complementary shot (okay, maybe multiple shots...) of the house schnapps topped off what was an outstanding introduction to the Ramstein restaurant scene. However, having already been convinced of the restaurant's quality and hearing some of its backstory (as I'm sure you've seen in the other reviews already, the owner is a butcher), I knew I had to come back for a second visit to try the bratwurst. I'm happy I did. Overall, this is a place I could find myself in regularly if I lived here. The owner has been working with meats since the 1980s, and it absolutely shows! In my two week visit to Germany, I was out to explore the best "meat and potato" spots I could find, and I went back here twice! Restaurant space is small but homey. They have a good-sized bar in the back. It wasn't too crowded when we went, but I could see it filling up quickly. I ordered one of their pork steaks; the name escapes me, but it was the farmer's version of it. I haven't been that impressed at that price in a long time - it was flavorful, and clearly handled and treated with respect as far as meat goes. My buddy ordered their bratwurst, and I was convinced I needed to come back and have my own order of it myself. This is what German cuisine is all about in my eyes. When you go, definitely choose the pan-seared potatoes instead of fries for your side. They were delicious, golden, and crispy. Likely the best potatoes I have had in ages too! Just heard about this place. So we drove down from Baumholder to meet up with some family. First of all we drove right by the place. It doesn't look alike a Resturant from the outside. Thomas, the owner was a butcher for years before he opened this restaurant. He knows the best it's of meat, and he has been preparing his own seasonings since he was just a butcher's apprentice. Thomas and Kris are the most friendly restaurant owners I have ever met. They pride themselves on never forgetting a face. They will welcome you with a smile and if yo get them talking, they open up their lives to you. The only complaint I have ever heard is thy is takes too long to receive your food. I ate at this little restaurant last night with friends stationed here at Ramstein while I am TDY. This place was fantastic. I got the farmer's bratwurst with black beer gravy and it knocked my socks off with the home-made sauerkraut. My only complaint was that they didn't offer home-made mustard. The bacon potatoes were amazing! For dessert I got chocolate cake with ice cream. Didn't seem home-made, but more of a store bought frozen cake. The ice cream was very creamy though. I have never been to a restaurant that the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare! (Ever) The steak wasn't chewy, nothing. My husband got the Parmesan Schnitzel, and loved it. Yes there was a little bit of a wait, but there was a bunch of people there. Also remember this isn't fast food. This was more than authentic. I couldn't be more pleased with a restaurant. Both were outstanding. I asked for a side of spaetzle instead of potatoes and he delivered - he doctored it up with sauteed bacon and onions with a nice melted cheese sauce. If I was in prison I'd request this as my last meal! To end the night, we both enjoyed his special family recipe complementary schnapps (for good digestion). Yes, Yes, a thousand times YES! The place is a mom-and-pop-run eatery that features amazing food at extraordinary prices. Thomas, the charming proprietor, acts as chef/waiter/busboy/manager. I ordered a sumptuous marinated pork chop for 9 euros, and the most expensive entree on the menu (marinated steak) runs 15-16 euros. They have a decent selection of beer on tap, and Thomas served our party of four a shot of some delicious concoction of spirits as a complimentary post-dinner treat. Thomas made us feel welcome, and the place has only been open five months, so it's hardly a trendy spot that's impossible to get into. You can tell Thomas and his wife put their heart and soul not only into the decor, but the operation and menu as well. If you're in the Ramstein area, Weberstubchen may be a few km off the base, but is well worth the trip. Run, don't walk, to see Thomas before this place's volume of business blows up. read more

Stumbled across this hidden gem maybe 2 days here in Kaiserlautern....and what a find it was ! Unbeknownst to me you were supposed to have reservations or its preferred well don't be discouraged....we were welcomed right in !!! To the bar with kids :) To wait on a table. After reading all the reviews, we decided to try this place! I guess we should have realized it was just an American hangout when that is all we saw dining there! My food was poorly prepared and had to be sent back to the kitchen to be cooked! This was a first ever in Germany! When it came back out, it was just warm! The owner is friendly and takes the time to talk to patrons. Beer is cold and good. Our stater salads were delicious and had a homemade dressing plus green beans and cabbage salads. The entrees were both cooked just right with lots of flavor. And various potato options for your side. The owner brought us special Schnapps shots that you can only get there. The only bad part of our dining experience was waiting for the food. If you go and want it to be fast you need to make a reservation which I understand. I got the Rump Steak with fries and my wife got the Spinach tortellini. The rump steak was cooked medium to perfection, had a good sear and great seasoning. The fries were crispy and had this really good seasoning that tasted and looked like seasoning salt. The highlight of the dinner was my wife's spinach tortellini. It was probably the best pasta dish I have had in a very long time. It was cheesy enough and an amazing spinach cream sauce.
