Best Snitzel in Germany!! Get the Pepper Cream Sauce you won't regret it. Seating is limited so get there early.

What a great little place! Located in a back alley of Landsthul, Andreas Stube was an adorably quaint and clean restaurant. It appears to be run by a husband and wife team. While he runs the kitchen she runs the front. She was wonderfuly inviting and kind, which was a welcome change of pace after all the "less than friendly" service we've received in Germany. We ordered the Jager Schnitzel and the Pepper cream Schnitzel. Both were very good. The Jager Schnitzel was the best I've had in Germany so far. Great flavors in the gravy with a nice tender pork cutlet. Whereas other places seem to take their sides for granted, this place took pride in theirs. The fried potatoes (and spaeztle) had nice flavors. When I asked if they had dessert menu, she kindly informed me they didn't have one. However, she said they could make a sweet waffle with cherries and ice cream. I had to say yes at this point. It was also above average. The entire experience was a joy. Beautiful setting, beautiful people, and wonderful food. I'll be going back soon.

Wonderful German eating! Highly recommend the special or the ram snitzel. Nice walk right around the old square.

When I arrived, the hostess informed me that the restaurant was full. I inquired about for service at the bar and was informed that they do serve the bar. I sat down and enjoyed today's special, burgunder schnitzel mit spätzle. The red wine gravy paired nicely with the schnitzel. This restaurant was recommended to me, and I shall pass on my recommendation as well!

Nice small comfortable down home restaurant. Best schnitzel I've ever had. Several to choose from and I got the Schnitzel boulangaise with spatzle and salat. I would take my friends again.

A lot of sausage and delicious sauerkraut.

I came across this spot just as it opened. It is a cozy, family run restaurant. I was able to sample a few types of sausage, spaetzle and delicious sauerkraut. They were friendly, the food was delicious, and I definitely left full!

Best schnitzel in town! Hands down. A must try for local German food. Cooked to order like your mom or grandma would do

Excellent dinner! We went on a rainy Friday night for dinner. Not crowded. Wish we were here more nights to go back. Also, it is cash only.

The interior is one of a traditional German village eating establishment, but being located close to an American base, it make concessions such a menu with pictures and English to make it easier to order. The "Stammtisch" (German for "regulars' table) is not a table, but a section of bar. Great traditional fare with accompanying beer or wine. I dined on the traditional schnitzel and it did not disappoint as it was accompanied by a great local beer. Keep room for dessert and some schnapps to help with the digestion. NOTE: it is a smallish establishment so you need to make reservations to dine, it is well worth the effort to make a reservation and dine. Guten appetite!

So take a butcher who know hows how to cook and how to respect the cut of meat, add a healthy dose of love of food and Bavarian/German cuisine, and you have a quaint little restaurant near Ramstein AFB/Landstuhl. If you are within driving distance, don't miss this gem! I had the "Garlic Marinaded Pork Ribeye" and selected the pan fried potatoes. OMG OMG OMG ... meat cut thin so two cuts served... the garlic was there front and center but NOT overpowering in any way. A bit of herbed butter, roasted garlic cloves that melt in your mouth, and these fantastically flavored potatoes that are just divine. All served with a generous side of a parsley and ?? Sour cream to die for. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Bring cash, no plastic. The portions are enormous, the menu is full of comfort‑food classics, and the atmosphere has that lively, slightly chaotic charm that makes it feel like a local staple. I went with a group, and everyone found something they loved. The schnitzel was crispy and well‑seasoned, and the burgers were surprisingly great for a place known for German‑style plates. Service was friendly and efficient even though the place was packed, which I really appreciated. If I had to nitpick, the wait times can get long during peak hours, and the sheer size of the portions can be a bit overwhelming if you're not prepared. But honestly, that's part of the Big Emma's experience; go hungry, go with friends, and expect leftovers. Overall, a fun, hearty spot that delivers exactly what it promises. I'd happily come back.

My son ordered a cheeseburger but we didn't realize it was the size of a layer cake. It felt like kind of like a joke; like a spectacle and you're supposed to be amazed. But it was actually disappointing and my son didn't enjoy it. The rest of us thought our meals lacked seasoning and it was overpriced. There are plenty of really good and reasonably priced German restaurants in the area but this isn't one of them.

Luxury hotel and restaurant with a deep medieval history to explore…read more The castle ("schloss") originally built in 1152 by famed Emperor Frederick I (aka "Barbarossa" or in English: 'red beard') was part of an extensive network of defensive positions designed to protect the SW borders of the Rheinland Palatinate. The original works were further strengthened by landed-knight Franz von Sickingen to supposedly withstand 16th century artillery. His efforts were less than successful since the castle was destroyed and rebuilt several times afterwards without much success. The current ruins date from the French inflicted destruction of 1689 during the Nine-Years War (which incidentally engulfed not only all of Europe but also spilled over to Asia, the Caribbean, and the New World, where it was known in the Colonies as "King William's War"). History aside, the current establishment is resplendent with first-class room accommodations (renovated and well appointed... check out the eiderdown pillows and comforters) and an impressive 4-star restaurant with changing menus and fantastic chefs. I highly recommend all the local specialties ("spargel" or white asparagus is in season in spring and should not be passed up if it's on the menu as well as all the local game--trout, boar, red deer--if in season and if listed on the menu), but everything is exceptional so let your own tastes and preferences guide you. The wine list is....well....magnificent, but pricey. Service is typical high-end European (for Americans who've never been out of their country before, this means "grow patience, be humble, and just go with the flow"... you won't be disappointed). Don't pass up an opportunity to walk the grounds and review the ramparts. It's a lovely workout and the changes in elevation are good for the cardiovascular... Vielen Dank for reading my review. The rooms are modern, quiet, inviting, exceptionally clean, well-maintained by an efficient but friendly staff who were very pleasant, had old-world manners, and regarded us with understandably professional distance. The rooms were a bit smaller than those in most American hotels, but they are lavishly appointed and very comfortable. Despite the considerable language barrier, our hosts were very accommodating: we made frequent trips to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, visiting wounded/injured American GIs, and our host always arranged reliably for our transportation - which we appreciated very much. An excellent place to stay.
