I've eaten here a few times over my travels and sometimes it's been a hit...sometimes it's been a miss. The most recent one (the pumpin lasagna) was, unfortunately, a miss, but other pasta options have been great, so I will certainly go back. It's often busy, so I recommend reservations, but service is usually quite good, too--in fact, they didn't have any seats last time, but made seats for us at the bar, which was lovely. read more

Decided to try this place since I was in the neighborhood. I tried the steak with mushrooms and a parmaschitzel. It took about 15 minutes for my order to be made and it was worth the wait. The steak was done perfectly at medium rare and it came with an assortment of fresh vegetables. The parmaschnitzel was thick and covered with a delicious sauce. I was surprised at the size of both dishes considering Europe serving size is smaller that what I'm used to in the US. I'd say it was closer to the US. The wait staff were very attentive and spoke English. The restaurant itself reminded me of the restaurants I'd find in Italy. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants when passing through this area. However now that they have changed the recipe to the salmon ravioli it's definitely not the same. Food is still good but definitely not the same. I wouldn't recommend the salmon ravioli as you can see from my photo I didn't quite get any salmon. ;-( However the ricotta cheese ravioli with Tomate sauce was good just not what I was expecting. The atmosphere is still great. Seating is very close so if you are worried about Covid protocols this is not the location for you. They also are only open for dinner from 4:30pm to 10pm. Recommend getting there when they open as they get busy pretty fast. They have limited parking in the back. Recommend finding a parking spot on the main road or pay for parking at Hotel Christine if they aren't full. I definitely was looking forward to having the salmon ravioli in vodka sauce. Hopefully one day that oldie but goodie will return to their menu. read more

Looking for an authentic Italian restaurant that I hadn't tried in the area. This one was highly recommended. The service good, a bit slow as in many restaurants in Germany. Our server was great. The calamari was bland, the sauce gave it a bit of flavor, but not quite enough. The fettuccine was amazing, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend! The food, drinks, and staff are amazing! My husband has been coming here for months and he finally brought me in and I had a great time. They treated him (and by proxy me) like family. We ordered bruschetta with mozz, gnocchi, and carbonara. All were so yummy. I had hoped to get the pumpkin lasagna, but sadly they were out (looks like we have to come back). The gnocchi was cooked perfectly. Little clouds of potato in a Gorgonzola sauce. I was a happy girl. We had a booking for six people to celebrate My Husband and his best mates birthday and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was beautiful, the staff were delightful and the food was great. I had the pepper steak which was delicious, my steak was just slightly overdone but still tasted amazing. Another guest at the table had the pizza and that looked awesome, highly recommend the garlic cheese bread. So I played myself and did not do enough researches on this place before dining. Thanks to it being labeled as just Italian and pizza, we walked in there way underdressed. With that said, this place is classy in every appearances on the inside, except for the prices. What a rare and perfect combination! We ordered the cheesy garlic bread, tomato soup, salmon fettucine, and spaghetti carbonara. Cheesy garlic bread was exactly what you'd expect. Crispy bread covered in plenty of melted cheese. The tomato soup was not as creamy as I'd hope. You can still taste the acidity of the tomatoes. However, with the other dishes being really heavy, I thought it complimented our entrees quite well. My spaghetti carbonara was made just right. It was very creamy and the egg did not get scrambled (tricky business!). I just wish they'd use real pancetta instead of what appears to be just your regular thinly sliced pieces of ham. Even though I don't eat fish, the salmon fettucine really smelled and looked incredible as well. Beautiful interior, friendly service with great food at very reasonable prices. Taormina was the first Italian restaurant we went to in Landstuhl. We have been there several times now and also have been to other Italian restaurants in town. Taking all aspects into account including food quality, selection, service, decor, and ambiance, this is my favorite one in the city. The owner as well as his daughter took care of us personally. Both as well as the other staff were absolutely delightful. I ordered the delicious fish soup which I had had before. Jack had the tomato soup. As always, both were superb. Since Jack is currently on a low carb diet, he did not want pasta. Instead he got a lovely steak in a red wine sauce with sautéed vegetables. I ordered some liver which was not on the menu but which they frequently have. It was prepared very well with a lovely sauce. We also had a Sicilian Syrah which the boss had recommended. Went to Taormine twice. The first time, had house salad, wine, and the Peppersteak. The food, service were great! The place is a nice, small restaurant, so you are never more than a few seconds from a server if you need it. The wine was very affordable and very good, I got 0.5L. After dinner, had a grappa. Wow, it had some kick. Next time, went and I was dying for a European pizza. I was kind of let down. The toppings and all that were great, all very good, but the crust came out as a perfect circle, which made me a bit worried. it wasn't the extra light bubbly Italian dough I was used to. I love this place. The food is always fantastic, and they have some really good seasonal specials. Today we had mussels in white wine sauce that were the best mussels we have ever had anywhere. The food is decent but there are much better Italian restaurants in this area (such as Salvatore's). The family had two pizzas (margharita and diavola) and lasagna. The pizzas are on par for German "Italian" pizza and the lasagna was good but mixed to easily with the base sauce. The location is convenient for those visiting the Landstuhl area as it is on the Kaiserstrasse. Their parking lot was also taken with construction workers. read more
