It's always nice to find a restaurant that does fire-baked pizzas. However, apart from that, their pasta is hit or miss. This is the lasagna I got to-go-- the picture speaks for itself. I'm not a fan, but this seems to be the norm here. This place gets one star instead of two because it's one of the places in Germany that disputes negative reviews and calls them defamation. From the poor customer service, the waitress given my wife rude faces and a bullying attitude, flat coca-colas, the wrong salad, to the hair in my pizza (which I saw before taking a bite), to being told that the hair was from the oven brush (I can tell the difference between a long, dark brown human hair and a short bristle from a brush used to clean a stone oven). As for ambience, when it is during non-rush hours, do not stack customers on top of each other (Yes, I do know that Europeans are used to closer personal space than US people). First time here tonight and wow, so good! We ordered the Spaghetti Oli olio (spaghetti with garlic, olive oil, parmesan cheese, olives, and hot peppers), gemischter Salat mit gegrilltem Lachs (mixed salad with grilled salmon, onions, tomatoes, and cucumber), and Pizza Calzone (stuffed pizza with tomato sauce, cheese, salami, ham and fresh mushrooms). We then shared it all and everything was very fresh and delicious. We sat outside as the weather was beautiful and there are many tables to choose from. The staff is very friendly and many spoke English. The service was good, not great, but in line with most good restaurants in Europe. This is a really nice place with lots of choices. They have many sizes to choose from of most their dishes and the staff was straight up with me when I asked for their take on different dishes. Which I really appreciate as I would hate to get something I don't like and they aren't even much of a fan of. They have all sorts of pizza and pasta and Italian dishes. This place had great seating options. We were seated on their patio. I love italian and was excited to try everything from pizza to pasta to bread however we weren't impressed. We went with my family which included 2 kids. No complimentary bread which i was shocked about. Their menu selections were a wide variety from pizzas to pasta which i did like. I ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese which came out beautiful but didn't taste like it looked. Very bland spaghetti sauce and not that much meat. My mother got their calamari plate, which although it didn't look like calamari and instead looked like onion rings, it had a nice flavor. Maybe too much batter but none the less it did taste ok. Fries were probably the best part. My sister got the rahmschnitzel which had this amazing gravy on it. Prob on of the best schnitzels i've had in germany. We ordered the pizza #76 which was supposed to come with garlic sausage but instead got pepperoni. It wasn't the best and truthfully felt like the cheese was tasteless. The service was however very good. Our server checked on us enough and was attentive to our needs. Their dessert menu looked amazing but didn't get anything in the end. Huge pizzas with tons of flavor. The place doesn't look like much on the front outside, but inside and on the back porch there's tons of room, large tables for hosting big parties, a rustic feel, and the great smell of brick oven cooking. Service is great and staff is attentive. read more

Great place for pizza and pastas!! We have dined in and ordered takeout from this place many times. We have ordered different menu items and I haven't been disappointed by any of the dishes. Our favorite pizza was #69 pizza di carne and we added mushrooms to it! My favorite pasta was #103 spaghetti Vongole and the lasagna was amazing as well! The drinks are amazing and they have an amazing melon shot that the owner gave us when I went with a big party! Parking: they do have a lot but it does fill up in the evenings, especially on weekends. Reservations: I would suggest making reservations because they are always full when we dine in. read more

Came here for a mid-week dinner and we were pleased. We ordered the Pizza di Carne and a three pasta dish. Both of them were delicious and we would order again. The pizza was a "small" but it could definitely feed two with a side salad or appetizer. The beer was good, could have been a tad bit colder but not a deal breaker. The dishes that we ordered were the Pizza di Carne, Spaghetti al Forno, Calamari Fritti and Ragatoni Lachs. These dishes did not disappoint and I would recommend them to new customers. First time here and while busy there was plenty of seating inside and out, we dined outside and were quickly greeted by our server who spoke great English and we ordered our drinks. I had a Mai tai and the hubby had a beer, it sure wasn't a great mai tai but I ordered a 2nd so it wasn't too bad; light and refreshing which is what I was going for anyways:) We wanted to try pizzza and pasta so we decided on one each with the promise to share a bit of each; I the pasta lover of the family chose the Tris di Pasta al Forno thinking it was three seperate pasta/sauces wehen in fact it was but all of them in a baked dish. My thoughts were we would get a taste of their red, cream and gratine but instead we got them all mixed together and it was good! I wasn't a big fan of the green pasta but the hubby was so it all worked out. Bonus this is with in walking/biking distance for us so I know we'll be back to try more and probably frequently as the cost is amazingly low. read more

Milano's is a very beautiful restaurant located near Gartenschau Kaiserslautern where many locals dine. I love the outdoor seating. They are well known for their brick oven pizzas. The portions are ENORMOUS! Two can share an order & you just take home what you don't eat for tomorrow's lunch/dinner. I'm use to my pizza being precut but here they serve it whole and you use your knife and fork to cut it up. The peppercinis are soooo good! I could not stop eating them! My husband and I had to paper, rock, scissors for the last peppercini lol They actually had a steady flow and system down to take care of big crowds. I would highly recommended this place for large gatherings. I look forward to coming back and trying more next time. read more

Came here to eat with a large group. Overall the food came out fast and the service was great. The pastas we got were good but I could of sworn the pasta I ordered (Carbonara) had peas in it but came with no peas, seemed like something was missing. Overall my pasta was tasted okay. The atmosphere was very nice and when we first arrived around 5pm the resteraunt was empty. Later around 7pm the resteraunt got packed with people. Nice place resteraunt to eat at or go for drinks. Our family was a regular at this establishment. We were highly disappointed by today's experience. I had placed a to-go order over the phone and I was told that it'd be ready in 20 minuets. I arrived 30 mins after I placed my orders and it was not ready. Overall it took them 1 hour. Not only that, but the staff member who tried to handle this situation was rude and another staff member who cashed me out did not apologize or give me any explanations. The place was great! Very modern industrial looking decor, which I loved! They cook the pizzas right in the middle of the restaurant in a huge brick oven and the food comes out quick too! If you're going for dinner after 6pm make a reservation because the place gets packed and it's hard to waltz in and get a table. The pizza was really good size a they have a huge selection of them. I had the Krabben which was spinach and shrimp and it was delectable! Their drink selections is abundant also, from beer, wine, to a huge selection of non-alcoholic drinks, coffees and teas. I tried this place twice just be sure it was amazing. I sampled the pizza and I tried a tortellini dish and both were outstanding in taste and presentation. One word of advice on the pizza: Order the small because it will come out what is about the size of our large pizza. The large size one??? That was big enough to feed---- can you saaaaaayyy a tribal village? or something along those lines. This place is comparable to Ella in Sacramento as far as food and service. I tried my first Tiramisu dessert here and both times it was perfect!!! The service here is A+ plus and fast. Very rare for a German restaurant to serve food fast but this one does it with style! I loved this place! The space inside is beautiful and open with floor to ceiling windows. This place is perfect for that special date or bringing the family or friends. This is certainly a place that the locals eat. If Rick Steves has taught me anything, it's that where the locals go, you should go. Pizza Milano has a seating capacity that would make a movie theater blush. This place is seriously huge, with an outdoor seating area that makes taking in a pizza and beer more like a festival tent than a restaurant. And it's awesome! The first warm summer day that you and a sweetheart find yourselves hungry and thirsty, this is where you should park your keister. Their menu has on it more pizzas than I could comprehend, and a large Calzone-esque monster that's called the Dinosaur. It's delicious, along with my recommendation of the Pizza Hawaiian. They do all of their food right, and serve their pizza German style, which means large and thin. They look intimidating, but try hard and believe in yourself. This is the easiest review I've ever written. They have beer, the atmosphere is great, staff is friendly, the food delicious and the price just right. So sweet the Pizza Milano is, so sweet indeed. read more

I have eaten here a couple of times and the kitchen is wonderful, we all enjoyed the food very much, five stars for the kitchen staff and the large portions for the price! What has left much to be desired is the service. The first time we went in winter and the restaurant is huge and was fairly empty, yet the service staff didn't follow up with us at all. I know Germany service is not US service but even for German standards it was weak. I would have drank more wine if I could have caught the waitress. Last night the restaurant and terrace were very busy. I saw 5 staff taking care of our section and yet they were very slow in brining menu's, taking drink orders, brining the drinks, food arrives no silverware for quite some time, we had to ask for it twice. We had to ask for the bill three times. Waiting staff was running around empty handed and without plan or purpose, not scanning the area for raised hands either. The neighbor table had to get up and track down their own menus and later their silverware. Lots of staff, very little concept of what needs to be done. read more

YUM! We ate at this restaurant with some friends a couple weeks ago, and I keep trying to find an excuse to go back and eat more pizza. The crust is thin and perfect, cooked in a pizza oven. The options for pizza are practically endless. We had the Rustica. It was good, but I'm excited to try more. We also split a salad. I think we ordered the small (klein) size, but it may have been large (groß). Either way, it was also delicious and went wonderfully with our pizza. The wine was also delicious and the Bitburger cold as ever. Our total was not even 30€ with multiple drinks. The pizza was enormous and wasn't even 10€! We will definitely be back. The atmosphere is great and there is actually parking! I didn't even know that was possible downtown ;) It would also be a great place for families. read more

I love this restaurant! Not only is it very reasonably priced, the food is quite delicious. And since the building is large, they can accommodate large groups. When the weather is nice, there is outdoor seating is amazing to have a nice bite in the sun. The baked pasta dishes are my favorite, as well as the dinosaur pizza. Just came back from a lunch at this place with my boyfriend and his supervisor. It was awesome. I ordered gnocchi al forno, Mike ordered farfallel al forno and his supervisor ordered a calzone. For one, I've never seen a calzone that huge. And on top of that, he told me that it is a small size. Ridiculous!!! But it looked delicious. Gnocchi was great, loved the sauce. Ordered bananen weizen...pretty interesting. I wouldn't order it again, for I like the taste of regular hefeweizen or kristallweizen, but give it a shot, you may love it. read more

My wife and I have gone to Milano's several times now and each time we end up loving it. We've had their pizzas, and pastas alike. Always satisfied. I think the pasta is the best. We ate here on 23 June. Two words: Absolutely terrible. The food was served before the drinks arrived (20minutes or so), and the anti-pasta plate had a hair in it! Finally, the food was not correct when it was served (ordered pesto pasta, got pasta with cream sauce). I will never eat here again. Ever. read more
