I ordered the rump steak with herb butter and onions. I thought the prices were a bit expensive, but this was also my first time ordering a steak in Germany, so $18 for this meal might be normal? I ordered my steak to be cooked Medium. I'm okay with a steak that is medium to medium rare, so I thought it was cooked fine. My mom ordered her steak medium rare, and it was definitely more towards the rarer side. If I visit here again, I would order the rump steak with garlic butter, no onions, and medium. The "chips" were delicious!

Make reservations just to ensure you will get a chance this quaint, small family oriented restaurant. THIS IS AUTHENTIC GERMAN CUISINE. My family and I enjoyed these amazing dishes recommended by the owner. Simply deliish! Thank you for sharing your heart with my family. Five stars across the board. I could have had beer and pommes all night. So if the fries are tasty, can you imagine the other dishes. Yummo.

After reading Jim W.'s review, we hopped in the car and headed here for dinner. This place didn't disappoint. Everything was great from service to food. Started with the house salad. Fresh, crisp lettuce and veggies with a delightful house salad dressing Thomas has used for quite awhile. I had a rump steak with garlic butter. Fantastic until the last bite. I was a little skeptical on getting beef here, but this will keep my Colorado heart happy while we are here! Cooked medium rare and to perfection. Portions are good size and a great price (especially compared to DC). You even get a shot after dinner to "aid in digestion". We will be back!

    Jaegerschnitzel with potatoes

During a visit to a different restaurant, one of the guys I work with told me that it wasn't that he didn't like schnitzel, it's just that most places only do an okay job of it. I agreed, and added that I generally won't get schnitzel at a restaurant unless I trusted that they would do a great job of it. Which brings us to Weberstuebchen. I went here twice on that work trip, which is generally something I don't like to do when I'm in a new place (usually I like to try as many restaurants as possible and don't make repeat visits). I had heard great things about this place (thanks Yelp!) and decided to give it a try. On the first visit, I ordered the Jaegerschnitzel with potatoes, all of which was cooked to perfection and coated with a layer of savory mushroom gravy. Washing that down with the local beer and a complementary shot (okay, maybe multiple shots...) of the house schnapps topped off what was an outstanding introduction to the Ramstein restaurant scene. However, having already been convinced of the restaurant's quality and hearing some of its backstory (as I'm sure you've seen in the other reviews already, the owner is a butcher), I knew I had to come back for a second visit to try the bratwurst. I'm happy I did. Overall, this is a place I could find myself in regularly if I lived here. Great food, great beer, great schnapps and a friendly and welcoming staff make this a must-visit place if you're in town.

Pork steak, and their pan-seared potatoes.

The owner has been working with meats since the 1980s, and it absolutely shows! In my two week visit to Germany, I was out to explore the best "meat and potato" spots I could find, and I went back here twice! Restaurant space is small but homey. They have a good-sized bar in the back. It wasn't too crowded when we went, but I could see it filling up quickly. I ordered one of their pork steaks; the name escapes me, but it was the farmer's version of it. I haven't been that impressed at that price in a long time - it was flavorful, and clearly handled and treated with respect as far as meat goes. My buddy ordered their bratwurst, and I was convinced I needed to come back and have my own order of it myself. This is what German cuisine is all about in my eyes. When you go, definitely choose the pan-seared potatoes instead of fries for your side. They were delicious, golden, and crispy. Likely the best potatoes I have had in ages too! Thanks to the staff for a wonderful experience. You won't regret coming here.

Wow. Just Wow. I wasn't expecting to be so impressed. Don't let the exterior fool you. This isn't a little dive bar. This is an amazing restaurant. The beer on tap is cold, the soup is hot... the steak, oh, the steak... I can't even articulate how delicious my steak was; even the potatoes made me moan with delight! I appreciated the welcoming staff and the cleanliness of the dining room. I will return as soon as possible for the generous portions of quality cuisine!

Rib eye XL with pan fried potatoes.

I saw the recommendations and thought this place must not be bad. Unfortunately five stars aren't good enough for this taste of heaven. Coming from Texas I never expected to find a great steak, but the rib eye was the best I've ever had. From the first bite to the last, every piece melted in my mouth. Pay the extra for the pan fried potatoes. You won't be disappointed.

I have lived in Germany for 2 years and done my share of traveling, and I have never had better German food than at Weberstuebchen! The food is all hand prepared and cooked fresh. Thomas, the owner was a butcher for years before he opened this restaurant. He knows the best it's of meat, and he has been preparing his own seasonings since he was just a butcher's apprentice. Thomas and Kris are the most friendly restaurant owners I have ever met. They pride themselves on never forgetting a face. They will welcome you with a smile and if yo get them talking, they open up their lives to you. The only complaint I have ever heard is thy is takes too long to receive your food. That is because there are only three people working, and each meal is prepared fresh. It is totally worth the wait. Just come enjoy the atmosphere, have a nice beer or glass of wine, and don't rush your experience.

Fresh and flavorful Brats! Get the potatoes with bacon and onions too!

I brought my two uncles here when they arrived in Germany and wanted a good schnitzel. I read good reviews and we were not disappointed!! Goulash soup was one of the best I've ever had and I try goulash soup every time I see it on the menu. Everyone was pleased with the Weiner schnitzel, Jägerschnitzel, and Rahmschnitzel. Great food!

My husband and I went here last night, and we were not disappointed! I of course saw all of the reviews so we had to go. I got the rump steak with onions, and the homemade potatoes. It was delicious! I have never been to a restaurant that the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare! (Ever) The steak wasn't chewy, nothing. My husband got the Parmesan Schnitzel, and loved it. Yes there was a little bit of a wait, but there was a bunch of people there. Also remember this isn't fast food. This was more than authentic. I couldn't be more pleased with a restaurant. The owner was very polite to us. The staff was just great. He gave my husband a free shot before we left. I turned mine down. I got some chocolate cake to go, and it was just mouth watering. My husband and I will be regulars here. Lol!

Well, sadly, we showed up on the one day of the week the castle was closed. However, we were able to stop into the Burgschanke for a bite to eat which was a completely unexpected stop as this 'castle tavern' was not here the last time we visited! We were approached as soon as we entered and asked if we had a reservation. Oh, no. Turned out OK as they had two tables available at the moment. Yea! The staff speak English, the menu is in English so no worries if you don't speak German. We had a light lunch of beef broth with bone marrow balls and a side salad. They also have wursts and other German fare you would expect. But we don't have huge appetites so this lunch suited us very well. First the soup. A rich, dark beef broth. A little salty, and very flavorful. The bone marrow balls remind me of matzah balls. This was an all together satisfying starter. It came with a small loaf of bread. Soft on the inside, crusty on the outside. A very nice, warm accompaniment to the soup. Next, the salad. We had been in Germany over two weeks at this point and none of the meals we had up to this point really reminded us of those we remembered from when we lived in Germany. That's fine. Pallets change. Chefs like to experiment. It's all good. But this salad! This is the salad we remember. The mix of greens. The salad dressing. This folks is a German salad. I know you might not care, but I am so happy to have found that taste again. It was fresh and flavorful and exactly what we needed. A hotel is located a little ways down the hill from the castle. Some people parked there and walked up. We drove all the way up to the castle and found parking on site. You can also walk all the way up to the castle or ride your bike on one of the many trails crisscrossing the property. The ambiance here is chill, fun and very German. The staff are friendly, professional and easy going. Restrooms are down a hall at the back of the restaurant. Remember to call in a reservation! You should definitely stop by for a meal.

I don't know if there was a chef change recently, but to my mind, the food seems to taste even better lately. The servers recognize me most of the time because I am a regular which is cool. I try to order in German when possible but I see that all the servers know enough English (one or two speak incredible English) so any Americans who go should have no trouble ordering. I love their salad and soups. It is pumpkin soup season right now and their pumpkin soup is very, very good. My favorite dish on the menu is their Rahm Schnitzel. Very well seasoned and not at all bland. I go most often for lunch and they have an abbreviated lunch menu which changes and they will also let you order off the full menu which is nice. Not a lot of German restaurants let you order from the full menu during lunch hours. The only downside is that you can't pay in debit card. So have euros with you when you go.
