Weber's is amazing we usually show up before they open. Around half hour and wait for them to open up. We love being able to stop stretch and be able to have our dog out on leash and even he gets a pooch patty. Love the charcoal grilled burgers and Starbucks and the service and cleanliness is great they are always out cleaning every time we stop by. Has been a place my family has stopped for several generations and will continue. read more

I understand some people give this place a better review because of nostalgia. Fortunately, this is my first time here, so I will be unbiased and base my review solely on the food. The burgers were good, but not great. The patties had the distinct taste of the charcoal grill. Howver, it is very thin (like the cheeseburger patty at Mcdls) and getting the double patty is highly suggested. They don't have lettuce, which isn't a big deal. To my distaste, the buns were not heated nor toasted. Finally, there still might need to be some improvements to thei ordering system. Three people behind me got their orders before me. The seating area is really cool, as they creatively use old train carriages as dining spaces. There is a foot overpass that allowa anyone going southbound (to Toronto) to walk over and grab a bite to eat. Overall, an okay burger, but more of a tourist spot than a decent burger joint. read more

Its JUST a burger. Ordered a double cheeseburger for $5.75 Its a simple grilled burger with onions, ketchup, mustard and a pickle. No bbq sauce. No mushrooms. No lettuce or other veggies. Clean washrooms. Unique dining experience with the refurbished train cars. Ordinary product. Anyone who can work a charcoal grill can do this at home. Will stop if and ONLY if I'm in the area, the line ain't long and I need to go to the washrooms. Not worth a drive from T.O. or even Barrie. Those who give it 5 stars are just fueled by hype and Nostalgia. read more

Generally the place everyone stops at on their way to or from cottage country. This is our first time going in the winter, and I loved that it was line free! Because they weren't as busy, their chocolate shakes were nice and thick (mind you it was -14 C so really it wasn't going to melt anytime soon), their burgers were super juicy because it wasn't overcooked (which it sometimes is when it's a huge lineup and their have their coals extra hot), and their fries...while still salty, were nice and crispy. Generally, I love the taste of Charcoal grilled burgers....these ones is just tradition. Can't wait to go again! I like their diners in train cars but sometimes i find them rather stuffy. I opt for the picnic seating in the back in the fall, or I'll just eat my burger in the car. read more

A must stop when you headed "up-north" The line up is a little extreme but they've definitely got a good system in place! I personally feel the poutine is AMAZING!! Skinny fries, nice gravy and tons of cheese! (Yummmmm) Burger is well made, I only wish they had more toppings option. read more

Webers burgers are okay, and are especially fine for what you pay for as they are reasonably priced. But this isn't a gourmet burger, or anything you can't cook up yourself on the BBQ in the backyard. The thing about Webers though, is that they have turned the place into a destination. A place to be. And kids grow up stopping there on the way, or the way back, from the cottage or camping. And then they take their kids, and so on. The place is outfitted with a bazallion picnic tables outside, and lots of grass, a bridge over the highway, and a train car with bathrooms inside. When it comes to the best bite though, I'd say the ice cream on the right side of the building out weighs the burger. Is Webers a place you must go to? No. Is it a good place to stop with your kids? Yes, if it isn't busy. Although despite the lines looking huge, they really are quite efficient and the lines move quickly. They have quite the assembly line setup. read more

I've always passed by this place seeing huge lineups and so today on the way back from dog sledding I was starving and decided to give this place a try since it was pretty empty around 5pm....small take out area that's a usual fries and burger place, to be honest pretty pricy for me, hamburger for $4 which honestly is very similar to harveys, small patties on a bun, probably not even a 1/4 pounder, service was fast and friendly but seriously all this hype for nothing, I expected much better quality, I saw Johnny burgers in victoria park is better than this place, with the $4 poutine their fries were like MCDonald ones with salty gravy and cheese curds that barely melted and had a weird plasticie flavor to it The way they had their restroom and dining area was neat but it doesn't do well with their lower than expected mediocre food If I were you keep driving and find a better burger place, or just goto McDonald's read more

Going down hill. The buzz for this place is probably all that sustains it. The quality and taste of the burgers is less than that available at the national chains NO premium on for USA dollars. Amazing at 1.30 to 1.00. And they do manage to collect a premium when the USD is less than the Canadian dollar. For my next meal I'll see you at McDonald's. Webers - Looks good, not so much on flavour. - Hot Dogs Near Me - Orillia, Ontario

I used to go to Webers with my family and have great memories of going there and playing with siblings. We came by yesterday and ordered double cheese burgers with poutine on the side and milk shakes. The poutines were inedible. The cheese curds were tasty but they weren't melty and the gravy had no flavour other than a lot of salt. I asked to be refunded for the poutines because they didn't taste great. The manager pointed out that no one else returned them and people love their poutines. Perhaps I wasn't familiar with poutine. He took his sweet time and made sure I saw him throw away the poutines. He did eventually give me a refund for the poutines. I wanted them to know that not everyone is in love with everything they do. I won't be going back any time soon read more

Im pretty sure everyone that has gone up to cottage country had noticed a black store next to an orange bridge with a giant line coming out of it. Congrats; you've found Webers charbroiled burgers. Seeing how there are constant lineups I figured that I had to try it. First thing I noticed is they know how to get people through the store. Seriously, I've never seen a more efficient system. They take orders in line, take payments in line and you pick up your order after. My only concern is how much smoke comes out of that place. Since it's charcoal, you'd figure they'd have a better system to get rid of the smoke... But nope... right in the restaurant and out the door. I'd be surprised if there was no cases of carbon monoxide poisoning. Whatever, try to hold your breath and get out quickly. My friend told me that the milkshakes were amazing. They were right. I'm not sure if they have any other flavours but my milkshake came out chocolate. The chocolate flavours was nice and rich which is pretty important in my opinion. The fries are also pretty good. They're thin cut and seasoned with kinda a creole salt seasoning. Pretty good even without ketchup. The burgers were built to your liking "a la Harveys", however, it wasn't really that great of a burger. I'd describe it as McDonalds quarter pounder patties, charbroiled and topped like harveys. I think that's pretty accurate. I actually had the veggie burger and it was a lot better than the meat one. I think I probably would have liked the "garden burger" more. Will I come back? Probably just for a shake and to try the garden burger in a whole. read more

This is quite the operation. If anything, you have to come here for the experience of it all. When we first walked up to the place, there was a lineup spiralled out the door, but miraculously, we were in and out in about 5 minutes. The young kids working in the restaurant have this assembly line operation that any fast food restaurant should take notes on. They've got someone taking your order as soon as you walk in the door, you've paid by the time you're three feet inside and you're on your way to burger heaven 2 minutes later. The real treat is getting to watch these kids assemble about 10 burgers per minute. There's one guy manning the grill, a few people in charge of decorating your burger, someone in charge of fries, etc and they're all incredibly quick and accurate, it looks like they've been doing this for years. It's actually a sensory overload watching your burger come together. It's almost as entertaining as the burger is delicious. I have definitely had better burgers in my life but this one was hot, fresh and had that charcoal flavour you want in a burger. The bun was also soft and fresh tasting. I can't comment on the fries or anything else but they did look good and the prices are super decent. I would definitely make a habit out of coming to webers every time I'm out on that highway, it's a fun, family favourite that's quick and affordable. read more

I'd passed by this burger joint many times on trips up north to the cottage or to the casino. I'd always been curious because Weber's had a reputation for being amazing, at least in the circle of folks I knew who had been there before. Well, on my most recent trip to the cottage, my girlfriend and planned a stop there during our week away. The crazy lineups outside were always a reason for me to avoid this place, but when I found out that they take your order and cash your transaction out while you're waiting in line, I was less worried. This definitely made the line move more smoothly! We both went for a double cheeseburger and shared a poutine and a large chocolate shake. Was it the world's greatest burger? No. Not even close. But I will say, that if you've been driving for a few hours and you need to make a pit stop and grab some food, this is the PERFECT place to go and kill an hour. Would I get out on the road just to have a Weber's burger? No, probably not. But it definitely will be a part of the ritual when we head up to the cottage again. read more

Passed this by on a Sunday on the way to Lake Leonard and saw a line at least 40 deep. I knew I had to try it on the way back. Stopped for a late lunch mid week and the line was much shorter, maybe 8 people. It's basic burgers and fries but cooked over charcoal, like real backyard charcoal, as in I saw them dump a bag of charcoal under the grill while I was in line. The burgers are really good and taste like you would get at a cook out at home. The fries were excellent. It's definitely an upgrade from any roadside fast food or On Route restaurants. One word of caution - it's cash only. Ok, two words of caution - it's really busy on the weekends. read more

I don't understand the hype. The burger patty was near-burnt and too thin for the giant bun. Our family had 3 cheeseburgers and 1 hamburger and we all agreed that they were the most boring burgers we've ever had. The fries were decent and eating in the train cars were awesome. Maybe the cook has an off night - get a double burger for sure. But I doubt we'll go back. read more

Soooo overhyped. Literally no options for toppings? Cheese and ketchup and mustard basically. Flat pop with no ice poutine was okay. I like that their burgers aren't super greasy or heavy feeling. The poutine was just okay. There is a good amount of seating as well in the park behind the restaurant. Just north of Orillia when I come up(work deliver high end clothes to my customer). I stop in and park across the street. OLD SCHOOL burger joint, that means homemade burgers, hot dogs, shakes by hundreds at lunch time. You get to walk across Ontario Place bridge and join the line up in parking lot. Runners come out to take your order and toppings are basic. Fries are fresh cut(you can die for). Webers is an institution for people traveling north to cottage country. They get huge crowds and have developed a very efficient ordering system (cash only which is frustrating in 2017). Webers is an institution among cottagers, located right off the highway on the way up north to cottage country this is considered by many families to be a must stop during their weekend getaways. I had visited Webers once before in my teens and recently had a chance to visit again while on a day trip up north. In many ways Webers is what a fast food restaurant should be, small concise menu all made fresh to order. I opted for a simple cheeseburger and a chocolate shake (they only have chocolate shakes no other flavours). You can see your meat being cooked while you wait; the patty is small but made from fresh meat cooked over a charcoal grill. You get your choice of toppings (tomatoes, onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard) I opted for everything. The burger was pretty good, the patty was a little thin for my liking and kind of got lost underneath all the toppings but the smoky flavour from the grill was nice, it reminded me of summer on a cold winter's day. The milkshake was very thick and reminded me of a frosty; it was a good accompaniment to the burger. I also tried their fries which were ok but nothing special. The restaurant itself is takeout only but they do have some old train cars you can sit in and eat, I believe they put out picnic tables in the summer as well. Their washrooms were absolutely immaculate, easily the cleanest washroom I've seen at a fast food joint. I like the feel of Webers, it's very old-timey right down to their menu, they have burgers, fries and shakes nothing else no salads, chicken wraps or any other trend put out by the fast food giants. Webers definitely gets bonus points for being a throw back. Overall I give the food 3 stars and the atmosphere/restaurant 5 stars. read more

Every day on my way to work I pass by the Uncle Tetsu line up. There's not a line up because of demand. There's a line up because of inefficiency. When you can only serve 12 customers every hour, even if you only have 15 customers, people will be waiting over an hour for their product. Webers is the opposite. They have a line up because of demand. They are masters of efficiency and have hamburger ordering down to a science. They get a full ass star for this because it is beautiful to watch. Burgers --- good. Fries --- bad. Outdoor seating --- nice. Indoor seating --- why is the table ten feet from the seats? Did we miss something!? Bathrooms were good for off the road toilets. I'd still go back every time I pass by. Tradition! read more

Behrouz and I stopped by Webers near the tail end of our annual mysterious excursion to Rama territory! Needless to say, the buildup to the burger was huge and the hyping up of the charbroiled taste by the locals did not exactly help our salivating! We arrived at the joint to find a lineup of some 40 people ahead of us. As horrible as that may sound, I was really amazed at how our orders were paid for and ready to pick up in under 10 minutes (Shake Shack, Priest etc). Their secret? a highly efficient assembly line, helped by a simple menu that really only offers burgers, hotdogs, and fries with some variation. The food itself was nothing to really write about. The burger was underwhelming but as good as anything I've had during a highway stop in Ontario. The fries were above average and the chocolate milkshake was thick but made of inferior ice cream! Overall, the unbelievable efficiency, cleanliness, and value of Webers make it a great alternative to the usual suspects of highway rest-stops, but I don't see myself ever going out of my way to go there. read more

My recent trip to a friends collage prompted me to write a quick review. When I was little, my family had a cottage, and almost every time we went up we'd make a pit stop at Webers. Still to this day, one of the best burgers I've ever tasted. There is always a massive line filled mostly with cottagers, but it goes by super quick. The seating consists of a ton of picnic tables in a big park, which is kinda fun... dogs running around... kids playing... the whole shebang. There are also two trains with seats that people can eat in, but beware the last time I ate in the train there was no AC (though that was 5+ years ago!) They accept cash only, but there is an ATM near by. This place is literally right off the highway, and you're a burgers and fries kind of person, you have to check it out. The fries are better than McDonalds, and have the best seasoning ever! I'm pretty sure they also have veggie burgers, but I'm not 100% on that. read more

Was so excited to bring my girlfriend to Webers on our way to Algonquin since she didn't spend weekends travelling to the cottage as a kid. I couldn't let her not experience this famous pit spot. We stopped in on a Monday afternoon, which obviously is not a busy time for travelling cottagers. The staff was pretty rude and unfriendly and our burger was sub par. They put our drinks and food in a tray that was so flimsy we almost spilled everything upon picking it up, so be warned!! I think I like the memory of stopping in at this place more than the burgers or service. Will skip it in the future. Lots of places to get a burger! :) read more

Not sure the hype. Burger. Thin, but I expected that based on the yelp pictures, so I got a double as it is hardly more expensive. Not as flavorful as it smells; seemed to have no season, salt, pepper or anything, so the only benefit of the burger was the nice buns and real meat. Dressings aren't my forte, but limited to onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and surprisingly, tomatoes. Not good for a place that serves burgers as their specialty. Wife got the garden burger. Didn't say much but it wasn't tasty at all and seemed more brown rice than anything. Couldn't even brag that it wasn't soy, because who knows. Fries. Nice, but McDonald's style julienne style, without the crack season, so nothing worthy. Poutine. Cheese curds rather rubbery and didn't melt, not a good sign of quality . No scoop in the middle like 99% of other places do, you know, so there's proper distribution in those steep containers. Gravy... WOW... I barely saw gravy! I think it was lightly tossed like a salad, or was really thin, because the fries were barely coated at all and little flavor. Service. Nice that they take your order in advance so the line moves fast, and are friendly. Upon receiving my order, they forgot my fries so I quickly went back in as I noticed outside. But they also forgot my drink, which I did not notice as I was being absent minded. Being that everyone else had their drink in the box ready and waiting, I suppose I just expected mine to be there without glancing to confirm. So my take.. With McDonald's service, fries and quality, I could've saved myself ten bucks and went to McDonald's. read more

Great place to stop on the way to cottage, but not worth the drive if you are in the city. First, they are very efficient with orders. The long line up goes down pretty quickly, and they have two separate ordering lines. About $10, it will get you a cheese burger, fries and a drink. All the toppings are fresh and the patty is moist and somewhat smoky. No lettuce though. Very impressed with the quality of washrooms and a verity of table set ups. Don't believe the hype. They get credit for an efficient order taking procedure, but lose points for lack of hairnets and gloves - when I mentioned my concern, the cashier educated me on the fact that 'gloves carry more bacteria than your bare hands'. Sure they do - unless you have an open cut... or you pick your nose... or you wipe your sweaty brow... Yuck. Decent burger, okay fries, although they were kinda salty. The gravy is on point! On the way up to my family's cottage in Muskoka we've been stopping at Webers for decades. Up until this year the food has always been superb. Their service is still great, and despite the long long lines, they make it go quickly with a pre-ordering system. Bring your family and pets, as they have a beautiful green area with picnic benches outside - they get wiped down if they are wet too. There is also lots of indoor seating on the old trains. This visit we had a bit of a slip with stale buns and overcooked patties. Not sure if they changed something with the way they cook their burgers, perhaps key man isn't there anymore? Either way, this is the first year in decades I left Webers somewhat disappointed. Hope they iron out whatever has happened! read more

On the way up to the cottage for the first time in many years, I made of point of doing a pit stop of Webers, for nostalgic reasons mostly. I remember loving it as a kid, but knew part of the reason was that it was one of the few times we were allowed to eat fast food so I knew I had to be skeptical, as any kind of burger was a welcomed one back then. Testing my childhood memory, we ordered a hamburger and fries to put to the test, after getting through the mile long line up. No matter what time of day, this place always has endless lines on both sides of the shop! But no need to worry as their ordering process is the epitome of efficiency. Coming from an accountant who thrives on order and logic, this system was enough to make me want to come back. As you wait in line they have runners who come by to take your order. They then come back to give you the bill. They then finally return to take your cash and give you your change (which they always have ready). Once you get to the counter all is done and your burger is there ready for you to pick up! With tons of seating options, we skipped the outdoor picnic tables and Muskoka chairs, and opted to eat inside the old train car, converted into an eating area, to avoid the heat and enjoy some AC. The verdict - meh. The burger was dry and bland. The meat isn't particularly seasoned so it just tastes like ground beef. The only toppings you can get are the basic ones (ketchup/mustard/onion/tomato/pickle) - maybe if we got a cheeseburger it would have been a tad better? The fries are nothing special. Plain and decent, but we were able to leave the ones at the bottom of the box behind, instead of fighting over the crumbs like usual. Should you go? Maybe once just to give it a try and to complete your cottaging experience since it is such a landmark up north. Should you go more than once? Nah. Save the next burger for the cottage where you can bbq it juicy and fresh with some beers :) read more
