If you're looking for delicious traditional British fish and chips with great service look no further.
Choose from haddock, cod, plaice, and salmon, prawns, squid, scampi or for the landlubbers, chicken, sausages and steak are also on the menu.
We opted for the senior specials. For £15.00 we got fresh home made soup and roll, a large serving of battered haddock and chips, choice of dessert and lots of hot tea.
The Whaler is licensed and have a good selection of beers and wines.
Food came quickly and was served hot and fresh.
Our waitress had only been working a few weeks but was excellent. She knew the menu, made recommendations and nothing was too much trouble for her taking care of our party of 6.
All this is without expecting a tip as is the norm in the UK. We did however, left a generous tip and made sure to compliment her to the restaurant manager. read more
