I thought a bourbon tasting and bourbon cocktail themed party would be fun but knowing nothing about bourbon I was kind of intimidated. I contacted PBS and they responded stating that they had the perfect bartender Alex for the event. Alex contacted me prior to the event and gave me suggestions on bourbons and quantities I should purchase. The happy hour was so much fun and Alex was amazing to work with. He arrived early, set up and kept the drinks flowing. He was also extremely knowledgeable about bourbon which the guests loved. The party ended up going later than expected and Alex offered to stay later if needed which was appreciated and accepted. This will be the only bartending company I will use going forward as the quality of their service is superb.

I wish I could hire her to tend bar at my house parties in LA. She's awesome, and seems to make hosting an absolute breeze. Changa's rate is reasonable, and she shows up with a car full of bartending supplies, everything from mixers to folding table. Her basic package goes for $275 for three hours, and that includes an hour-long consultation, a signature cocktail, juices and sodas, cordials and liqueurs, homemade infusions and purées, garnishes, napkins, bar supplies, ice, coolers, etc. etc. She saves you a lot of headache and a long, involved shopping, and then makes your party run. She's skilled and professional. She makes a ginger margarita that is truly delicious. I was staying with Ava the night of that second party, so I was around for the wrap-up, and we ended up talking with Changa and another guest for a while at the end of the night. I know I'm Yelping her business, but it's worth noting that Changa herself is a very warm, thoughtful, intelligent person, someone you'd totally want at your party. When the whiskey was almost out I never knew. Instead of pulling me from my guests or worse yet telling people we were out they took it upon themselves to send a teammate to the store...twice...which was particularly awesome because the nearest store was 25mins away. I made my first Charismatic Creations purchase a few months after the pandemic began and bought a cocktail making kit to make cocktails for the Jill Scott vs Erykah Badu Verzuz battle. I also purchased a couple other infusions/mixers with that order. I got that order shipped to me and despite all the craziness with USPS at the time, my order arrived quickly. Fast forward to today and the owner now has her own warehouse where she now sells her products and hosts pop ups for other small businesses as well. It's so dope! Since my birthday is in April and she created some special cocktails celebrating some April-born Queens, Selena and Billie Holiday, I KNEW I needed those drinks in my possession. The Selena drink was tequila-based and the Billie Holiday drink was gin-based. If you follow Charismatic Creations on social media, you know the owner's favorite spirit is gin which on the other hand, is not mine. However, I kept an open mind and I absolutely loved that Billie Holiday drink. Both drinks were delicious and she provided lavender rose sugar to rim my cocktail glass with. I love that this business uses fresh local ingredients in their products. This is another great black woman-owned business that I really encourage you to try and definitely follow on social media for some drink recipes and to see some beautiful drinks.
