The flowerpot scones here are pretty great but I'm not sure it warrants the wait on busy days (45+ mins). The coffee is decent but nothing to rave about. Their savory food offerings are about average while many of their pastries are a little above. Service is very friendly but also very slow. If you're on a tour and have a limited time constraint, it may not be advantageous to dine here as you might spend all your time waiting. They tend to be busiest on the weekends.

Great little lunch spot in the middle of Leura Village A favourite with locals and visitors alike. This little icon is in danger of being closed down, The council owns the property and says that it is too expensive to maintain. If this property were owned by anyone else, this property would have had a heritage order placed on it years ago. Of course, the council has lodged a DA already and has plans to redevelop A shame because the cottage has links to our convict past

Has lots of options, some healthy, and seems to serve nice fresh food. We wanted healthy food and a variety of options during a bus tour, and this worked out perfectly. The only issue was all the butter everywhere, but most people would probably like that--I just wish it had been noted on the menu. The pumpkin soup was a bit bland but okay and fresh. The bruschetta was really loaded up and had lots of balsamic glaze and a big sprig of fresh basil. The lamb stack was two smallish lamb burger patties with a big portobello mushroom, and no bread. They made modifications to the sandwiches and made one custom. They have a nice local nonalcoholic cider. They also do takeout and doggy bags. Friendly and quick service. We comfortably got in for lunch during a bus tour and out in under an hour.

This gets five stars for one reason only. Flowerpot Scones. Intrigued? Keep reading. I don't care if this is all the way in Leura (which is lovely for a day trip anyway), in this cafe I do believe I have tasted the best scone on Earth. I am a certified tea and scone snob. It's gotten to the stage where friends are actually too scared to make tea for me or make their tea in front of me. So when I give a scone 5 stars it's serious business. The delightful cloud of goodness is baked to order in a little terracotta flowerpot - creating a truly unique shape and served with a generous serving of jam and cream. Absolutely divine. It boasts all the usual cafe foods and drinks and has a terrific atmosphere, but honestly all you need to convince you to go here are two words. Flowerpot Scone.

The scones are pretty nice, good choice if you'd like to take a break in Leura.

Here are the opening hours and quiet/busy times. Still, I'm a big online fan because otherwise I can spend half a day looking for somewhere to eat. And the online menu does say they love people with allergies. However there is no mention of gluten or gluten free on the menu. Maybe this is related to the tightening of Australian rules into "gluten friendly" rather than gluten free. Since their specialty is hot sandwiches, I'm up in the air on the gluten front. If they will allow choosing from the sides and extras menu, that would be perfect. I also like how many of their prices have stayed reasonable, with five dollar coffees, I don't know if I can eat them but their egg sandwiches for Brekky look positively dreamy.

What a unique interior- hard to explain but almost like being on a ship. They told us they have a business in Alaska and fish for their own salmon and transport it here so of course I had to try the special. It was fantastic. Can't eat it like a sandwich so ask for a fork :) Hubs had the Deli Rose and loved it. Ate every bit. Friendly service, lots of languages spoken here. Loved it Aussie 43.50

CleanSlate Cafe - Fluffy. With some chew (not light, but substantive). Still quite good. Aussies seem to like pancakes with a scoop of ice cream on top...

I had been in Sydney for about a week and couldn't find any good salad options on most of the restaurants I went to. There were plenty of salad and gluten free options on this menu, I got the chicken salad - $24.90 iceberg lettuce, avocado, cucumber, pickled ginger. I'm Not sure if the salad was that great or if I was so excited to finally eat a salad. I don't remember the service being that great. I was in/out pretty quickly. The restaurant was cute but I don't remember seeing the views that some others mentioned.

I sat by the window and ordered as quickly as I could. Since I was with a tour group, I had limited time, so ended up having to take my food to go. I went with the Sesame Crusted Atlantic Salmon, served with pan fried potatoes and avocado salsa. The Salmon was lightly fried, delicately crispy, tender and well seasoned. That Sesame crust was also beautifully done, with black sesame and regular sesame. Potatoes were nice and crunchy, with great flavor, while the avocado salsa included red pepper and onion, which gave it a lovely acidity. This was fresh and colorful addition to the dish. For dessert, I had the Sticky Date Cake with butterscotch sauce. I've tried this in the States, and wasn't really a fan but having it in Australia was a much better experience. The cake was delightfully moist, with the wonderful taste of dates, was made even tastier with the rich, sweet sauce with notes of caramel and toffee. Service was pretty good. The waiter came right away, but the food just took a little longer than expected.
