The gnocchi was my favorite! We visited on a Tuesday and it was easy to get a spot at the bar, but really filled up by the time we left. Love that there is easy parking next to the building. We will definitely be back!

It's the kind of space where you want to get dressed up just to sit in it. Truly one of the most beautifully designed dining rooms in the Twin Cities. The staff was also really helpful when it came to navigating gluten and dairy preferences, which I always appreciate. Good cocktail options and great presentation in nice glassware. The Parker House rolls were the clear table favorite, served with three different spreads that were all worth trying. The Brussels sprouts were divine and the beef tenderloin was good, though the portion felt a little small for the price. The short rib special was amazing, but they weren't able to substitute the potatoes for a gluten free option, which meant the dish came out incomplete at full cost. Our waitress was apologetic and lovely about it, but it's not a great touch for a restaurant that otherwise does a nice job acknowledging dietary needs. The Eloise sundae is an absolute must. Done tableside and completely phenomenal.

The interior modern and charming with a 4 seasons large patio looking right at the water. They have a bar and high top tables as well. They recently added a great daily happy hour with small bites, cocktails and wines/beers/sake. Definitely try their rotation sake for only $5. We also enjoy their other happy hour cocktails and hand rolls. Food is quality but definitely have smaller portions that are meant to shared! Their tuna is to die for. I also have to always get my favorite frozen lychee cocktail called the Ileana!!! Ugh soo good.

I've eaten here once before for a special event year prior and the food options were better in my opinion. The small plates got even smaller and more expensive. Not sure if the quality was better on things either. I was with 3 others and we all shared plates. chicken karaage was alright. I liked the crispiness was the sauce was nothing extravagant. Truffle Edamame - best thing I had! The only thing craveworthy that I had. Shrimp taco - smelled fishy but tasted better. I was able to split it into 2 since the shells are so small and the filling worked well in the 2 provided. Crispy rice with spicy tuna - this was fun to do but not as good as we were hoping. It was missing something. Shishito peppers- these were large and many had the seeds. Spicier due to this. Wagyu sushi tacos $24 for the tiny things and it looked like ground wagyu... felt like a cash grab. I didn't eat them but my crew ate 2 and didn't want to eat the last one. Chicken fried rice - good size and really gingery. Not my favorite but it was edible. Better value than other items. The sushi felt like Crave and they were teeny tiny. I didn't enjoy the fishiness so I was one and done. (I normally love seafood) Dessert- we split 2.. the churros and the tres leches. The churros needed some sweetness in the mixture as they were bland. I was hoping for a really good churro and these were just ok. The tres leches wasn't traditional and they should change the name to avoid confusion. They have a better happy hour if you sit at the bar. Our server was able to order us some fries. Despite not being in the bar area. Overall, I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here. The drinks and happy hour, maybe. The cocktail menu was very nice and I tried a few of my friends drinks.

Vinifera is my neighborhood hook-up for the latest beer releases. It's a tiny place, tucked in the…read morecorner of the strip mall on the southeast side of the 6 & 101 intersection. About two-thirds of the ~750 square feet is dedicated to wine, although I rarely purchase wine here. The remaining space is mostly a large cooler with loads and loads of regional craft beer offerings. Living nearby, I drive past 10-15 times a week. Each and every time I debate whether I really have any more space in my beer fridge for something else. Call it a craft beer addiction if you will, but it's also fun to try different stuff. When I finally succumb to temptation, my usual approach is to stride in, nod to the proprietors (an older couple) or manager (a younger, very beer-savvy drinker), check out the new releases stacked on the left side of the counter, and then park myself in front of the coolers. There is always something new to consider, and I do rely on UnTappd to give me a sense of what may be worth trying. Pricing is a bit higher than what you'll find at the megastores, but selection is more interesting and the product is fresher. Vinifera gets regular shipments from Junkyard, Drekker, Brewing Projekt, Drastic Measures, Oliphant, and other premier microbrewers that you can't always find at your typical mom-and-pop liquor store. They do offer a wine club (nominal pre-pay in exchange for discounts) as well as punch cards for multi-pack beers (free multi-pack after 10 purchases). Every so often you can find discounts in the local adverts. Check 'em out when you're in the western burbs. They are only 5 minutes from the 494/394 interchange.

I didn't agree with Gayle's iphone directions to their house, but drove in that direction anyway. That was a good thing, otherwise we wouldn't have seen the sign directing us to Vinifera Wines and Ales. Both Gayle and I were impressed with the wine selection, which we also found to be reasonably priced and extensive for the relatively small space. I also had a wide range of beer choices and ended up with a very tasty winter ale from Bell's. We also enjoyed the store dog, a shy brown retriever mix named Berkeley.

Quality local options and they are FRESH! As a hop head I check dates and won't buy aged pales or IPAs. Great options for all styles of beer in 12+, 6, 4, and larger format bottles. The Wine, I've been into wine in and off for 8 years. I didn't have a plan for a bottle, knew my wife wanted a cab or red blend. Was well informed on some American Cabs and eventually lead to a new Portuguese bottle that we will be getting again at a great price point. All in all, great local shop. Expansive wine and beer list, competitively priced, and a selection/rotation that has captured my attention. I literally drive past two other options to shop here for the selection and the knowledge. As an avid homebrewer this is the only place I'll be going on the west side of town because I know I'll find something new, unique, or rare. I haven't even looked at the liquor options yet, so I can't comment there.
