Amazed by the unique selection of beverages. I believe it's locally owned which I love supporting local businesses. I'd definitely come back here to pick some items up if I'm in the area. Workers were very friendly read more

What a great neighborhood liquor store! I may be a bit bias, seeing as it's about 4 minutes from my house, but besides the convenience, they have a great selection of products. The staff is engaging and very knowledgeable on the wine, beer, and spirits and they have a great selection of hard to find items as well. In the mood for something a little less mainstream? McDonald's Liquor has a nice variety of sake, soju, Asian whiskey's, and plenty of THC friendly drinks to choose from. The newer walk in beer fridge is a great addition as well. The crown on the cake is the rewards membership they offer that is point based. Ask about it, because it's a pretty good deal. Support the small businesses in Minneapolis! Places like McDonald's Liquor, is a great addition to the area, and are good people! read more

McDonald's Liquor Store is hands down the best liquor store around--no debate. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel genuinely welcomed. Not rushed, not overlooked--seen. They're knowledgeable, friendly, and actually enjoy helping customers, which makes the entire experience feel easy and personal. The selection is excellent and thoughtfully curated, whether you're looking for something familiar or hoping to try something new. And here's what really sets this place apart: if you share what you like with the boss, he'll order it in for you. That level of customer care is rare and speaks volumes about how much they value their customers and community. This isn't just a place to grab a bottle--it's a liquor store that builds relationships. You can tell pride is taken in both the product and the people who walk through the door. Exceptional staff. Great selection. Unmatched customer experience. Best liquor store, hands down. read more

Always liked this store. But twice in the last month e gone and they were closed well before 8:00 (today their gates were down when I showed up at 7:30). Inconvenient for sure read more

Not only is the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, but they go out of their way to help their customers. Whether it's ordering new products, educating customers on their products or having a great conversation, I always enjoy my time at McDonald's. I've learned a lot about new whiskeys, tequilas and other items. If they recommend it, buy it. I try to give them as much of my business as possible! read more

Overall, McDonald's is a nice local booze shop for the neighborhood. They have a fairly big selection of wine, craft beer and liquor. No, they don't match the selection or pricing of the big box boozeplazas, but the selection isn't bad for its South Minneapolis address and pricing is fairly reasonable. As others have stated, the staff here are generally very friendly and welcoming. read more

I was pretty hesitant at first to shop here. I judged on the looks, the name, etc. Since shopping here a few times though I've warmed up to it. They have a wide selection of beer (which is usually what I go for). The employee's are all super nice! Every one I've talked to has been very kind and helpful. I am definitely more likely to shop here more because it's closer to home than our previous choice. They allow dogs which is great! Ours is always included in the beer runs and I'm glad she doesn't have to be excluded from McDonald's. (I will never get over the name. My partner says we should go to McDonald's for beer! Oh, ok.. wait what? No fries?) read more

My local liquor store - good selection and good prices. I usually just buy beer here but they do have a pretty impressive selection of wine - I need to spend some time perusing sometime and talk to the sommelier - I didn't know about the wine tasting emails - i will definitely be signing up to check this out! Nothing fancy here, but a an easily accessible place to get your booze. They have everything you could ever need - I think - well everything I need. read more

McDonald's Liquor is dog friendly!!! Yes, you can bring your dog inside the store! I was a little skeptical at first, but it wasn't too hard navigating around with my little guy (who doesn't even do that well on a leash). It might be hard with bigger dogs, especially in the wine section since the aisles are a little narrow. The beer selection will not disappoint (yes, they have Fat Tire). Their wine selection seems good too...though I'm not sure how it stacks up to Surdyk's or Haskell's. They did have a wine tasting today, and a lot of their store is taken up by the wine, so that's got to be a good sign, right? I got a free sample of beer, the dog got a treat and we left with a reasonably-priced 6-pack of good beer. Does it get better than that? read more

If you woke up here, you'd think you were in the middle of some small town in Wisconsin. It's totally unpretentious in every way and I appreciate that (but, no lie, I like the fact that stuff is pretty cheap even more.) Also, when the wine guy asked if I needed help and I was honest and told him I pick the bottle by the label, he suggested some with the COOLEST labels ever. He also didn't treat me like a moron, even though I probably sounded like one. I'm more likely to freqent Chicago Lake Liquors and Lyndale Liquors but, when I'm in my parent's neighborhood, I totally hit up McDonald's. read more

I'm a fan, if for no other reasons than it's convenient and hasn't turned me off yet. They have a huge wine selection if you're into that, and the prices seem more or less reasonable on wine. If you need help on wine analysis you'll probably get it. They have a decent selection of cheap beers but when looking for that grade of beer I could go for a case of Old Mil or Blatz. For some reason they stock only Blatz Light? The prices on some of the cheap beer could be lower. I will not pay $10 for 12 cans of Old Mil just because it's Minneapolis. In Wisconsin you can get a 30-pack for like $12. They have pretty good deals on High Life; also Grain Belt sometimes but that just tastes like apple juice to me. A good selection of cold craft beers awaits, and then they have a sizable stock of warm stuff. They seem to stock beers from places like Ohio, California, and Colorado heavily. I could really go for more regional stuff like Wisconsin and Iowa craft beers. They sometimes have Lakefront beer from Milwaukee but they could up the ante on Wisconsin beers quite a bit AND keep them cold. They have all the Surly, Fulton, Summit and Schell's you want. Flat Earth is pretty overpriced though. I recently saw a four-pack of large bottles for $17.99, but then individually they're like $8.99 a piece or something, which is just way too much. Dunno if it's them or Flat Earth but that's kinda ridiculous. They've got your ciders (Crispin!) and other sorts of booze pretty well set up and if you need accessories like cheap ice, sodas and junk, you're all good. The staff is friendly and cool and after a few trips they'll treat you like a regular. Overall, a good spot. read more

McDonald's prices are higher than any place else. Watch out for their bait-and-switch pricing philosophy. I recently bought some wine with one price on it, but the register rang up a higher price. The difference was $1. They pointed me to a sign that supposedly explains it's OK for them to disregard all price tags and wouldn't honor the tag on the bottle. I guess if they have a sign explaining the problem, it must happen often. They placed the blame on someone else, a vendor, who I'd imagine is used to pricing items at a lower price (see my first sentence.) A dollar isn't a big deal, but I guess my returning business isn't either. I won't be back. read more

One of my local liquor stores. I love the staff, it seems they've all been there for quite awhile, helpful, cheerful and direct makes for an efficient stop. They've even stocked beer I've requested! Some of the prices are a little higher than I can get elsewhere, but that goes with supporting a neighborhood business. Keep up the good work guys, I'll catchya on the flipside. read more

My local liquor store. Great selection, totally reasonable prices, with great discounts periodically. They allow dogs, have case discounts and wine, and havce a wine selection and a wine-guy (sommelier?) on staff who is awesome. Sign up for their wine tasting emails. read more

This place is outstanding on so many levels. Exceptional service all the way around; Mike is a great with all the Wines, Guy in the Beer department rocks and everyone has always been exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The wine/beer/spirits tastings are a blast and normally free and they welcome are belligerent dogs! No need for us to shop anywhere else! Keep up the great work! read more

I can't help but feel a little claustrophobic when I shop at McDonald's. The aisles are really tight and given that each shelf is lined with glass it makes me a bit nervous. The selection on beer is good, i just wish more of it was cold, this is more than likely because of a limitation on space. I did get a pretty solid IPA from Stone Brewery here which I thought was impressive and they have quite a few local brews available as well. Whiskey, Vodka, Rum and all those other hard alcohol staples are decent but not a ton of options. You'll find the most popular brands but not many unique choices. I don't drink a lot of wine but they seem to have a solid selection. I live close but haven't made them my primary liquor store, mainly because the prices aren't fantastic. They are fair for a locally owned neighborhood store and I frequent because of the convenience, but if I'm stocking up for a weekend full of bad decisions I might drive a little further. read more

Friendly staff, good selection, and fair prices!

Based on Karen S.'s recommendation, I went here (partially because I wanted to take my dog). I needed a bunch of champagne for a brunch and I had no idea what to buy. The staff was very helpful and didn't try to upsell. Very good selection, good prices! read more

Great selection, good prices, and that's about it. Idk what you other reviewers are talking about but the staff sucks they are always looking at you as if your just gonna run out with a bottle or rob the place. But hey its the closest liquor store to me so I will still frequent. Just don't expect for them to roll out the red carpet. read more

One of best selections of exotic beer, wine and liquor in Minneapolis and perhaps the Midwest.

A solid neighborhood liquor store with a decent selection and staff that are willing to help if you need it.

Favorite liquor store! Love the staff and they have a great selection of craft brews and wines. The parking lot can be a little crazy with folks turning off 34th, so just be safe when you are backing out or walking across. :) read more

SUPER friendly employees and great beer selection. Wine selection is alright. Comparable prices. Shop here because it's in my neighborhood and the employees are helpful and actually cheery (a rarity now). read more

Today since I was in the area buying valentine sweets from Berry Sweet Kitchen, I pulled into McDonald's Liquor on a whim looking for champagne....I truly didn't expect allot of champagne selections but what they have is more than marginal and excellent selections are available. Also they had a decent selection of good wines & craft beers as well. Even better were their prices, very reasonable pricing & even a little cheaper on some wine & beer than most. Happy I stopped, plus I signed up for one of their wine tastings and will return! The staff was super friendly too! read more

Great selection, friendly helpful staff. They have helped pick wines, find unique beers, brought my stuff out to the car with me. Prices are about what you expect. read more
