Dr. Lord has been my PCP for over Seven Years and continuing to have him as my PCP is well worth the Hour and a Half Drive each way. So I most heartedly recommend Dr. Lord and his new practice at WellFamily Medicine. My experience with the Front Office and with Dr. Lord's Nurse have been absolutely positive! In fact, on my first visit, I accidentally reopened s wound on my forearm and the receptionist immediately called for Dr. Lord's Nurse, who took me back to a room, cleaned the blood from my arm, and bandaged my wound. Yes, my first time at WellFamily Medicine was Definitely A Five Star Visit!

Dr. Poehailos and Ms. Martin are easy to talk to (they listen to you) and extremely helpful and caring, as are the attending nurses, lab assistant, and receptionist. They are professionals. I had such a positive experience in all aspects of care!! Pleasant and helpful staff to greet me and get me signed in, excellent and friendly nurses, anesthesiologists and doctors to make the scary surgery experience as positive as possible. I was so thankful to be in the new facilities, with people that clearly cared about the work they do! Finally, I'll add the business office has been extremely helpful with my insurance being slow to pay and delaying. Highly recommend this hospital.

The nurses were kind and highly skilled. Even the pre op class was interesting. I had previously had a horrible experience in another hospital and was very frightened, but the people at Augusta soothed my fears. I am now 5 weeks post op and doing very well, thanks to the outstanding surgeon I had and all the terrific people at Augusta and Augusta Physical Therapy. I highly recommend them.

I've been attending Move Better Therapy for the past 10 weeks following surgery, and my experience…read morehas been outstanding from the very beginning. The entire team is welcoming, professional, and genuinely invested in helping patients succeed. Scheduling appointments is incredibly easy, and everyone in the office is friendly, accommodating, and organized. I have TRICARE Select, and the insurance process has been seamless thanks to their knowledgeable and helpful staff. One thing I really appreciate is their workflow. Patients are staggered every 30 minutes, and therapists work with no more than two patients at a time. The process is incredibly smooth and efficient--you never feel like you're sitting around waiting or competing for your therapist's attention. The care feels personalized, focused, and well organized. The quality of care has been exceptional. My therapist has created a personalized rehabilitation plan that has helped me make tremendous progress in a relatively short amount of time. In fact, my orthopedic surgeon was very impressed with my recovery and progress since surgery during my follow-up appointments. I also appreciate the excellent communication between Move Better Therapy and my orthopedic clinic. The therapists consistently send detailed progress notes before my follow-up visits, ensuring my surgeon is fully informed about my recovery and making my care feel truly coordinated. If you're an active individual looking to recover from an injury or surgery and return to your baseline level of function, I highly recommend Move Better Therapy. Their expertise, professionalism, patient-centered approach, and efficient workflow have made a huge difference in my recovery journey.

To my pleasant surprise, thanks to Shannon's expertise and guidance, I am now completely pain-free after working with her for a short period of time! She celebrated my progress and encouraged me whenever I accomplished a challenging movement or demonstrated new strength. I'm so grateful for her help and couldn't recommend her more highly!

The gold standard. That's the way our local GP described Tobin. I'm not sure such a modest,…read morebenevolent soul would be comfortable with such praise, but my family's experience bears it out. Objectively, his skill isn't surprising, considering his level of education, years of dedicated work, and experience with diverse patients and settings. Over my year-and-a half of therapy, I saw his dogged pursuit of solutions and creative perception combine in an extraordinary way. It truly was a synergistic, collaborative approach, a rare experience that I doubt I'll find again. Not that I didn't dread it at first. It opened with everyone's favorite, a rotator cuff repair with a side of acromioplasty. Recovery for this is long, six weeks in a sling, combined with many more weeks of progressive PT, synonymous with pain. At first, you're not supposed to move your arm at all, yet you're expected to come into therapy and allow a complete stranger to take control of your injured part. I was terribly apprehensive, being unable to take pain meds because they nauseate me, but with the soft lights, the privacy, the unobtrusive comfortable environment at Synergy, I was able to relax and honestly had no pain. Tobin was perfect for this, creating a sense of confidence and sensitive care that made therapy a sort of safe cocoon. Healing is about relaxation on everyone's part, which requires the trust that comes from knowing you're in skilled and knowledgeable hands, hands that watch and read and communicate. Your part is to relax, do your exercises, eat really well, walk in the sunshine, and trust your body to heal. Then there was my knee. Six years ago, two different orthopedists advised me to have it replaced. Hoping for an alternative, I put it off. I've had many surgeries, even cancer (kidney), and the thought of getting on the table again was unbearable. Tobin agreed to work with me, assessing, teaching, strengthening, all the while listening to my fears and nervous banter. (He was saint here.) But experience told him the time had come. The leg was beginning to shorten, affecting my back. "She has to have this surgery," he told my husband, who wished him good luck in making me see this. Somehow, he patiently helped me come around. TKR is a brutal surgery, but Synergy met all my needs, and the pre-therapy helped me recover even faster. Rehab was as good as it gets -- eventually, almost fun. And I love my new knee. This would never have happened without a foundation of total trust. I'd done my research, finding that when it comes to managing musculoskeletal conditions, out of all physical medical specialists, , only orthopedists demonstrate a higher level of knowledge than experienced DPTs like Tobin (http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-2474/6/32 ). I'd also watched him help my husband when an injury at work left him unable to lift his arm. The MRI and nerve studies had one (highly regarded) surgeon convincing us that the only solution was immediate cervical discectomy and fusion. Tobin encouraged getting a second opinion, and after months of his carefully designed and monitored physical therapy, the arm has recovered without surgery. Lastly, for me, a surprise diagnosis comes once again: degenerative spondylolisthesis. Finding ways to keep moving with this requires patience and creativity, especially with the challenges left to my deep core and obliterated reflexes from repeated abdominal surgeries. I was so fortunate in having Tobin's teaching and encouragement ready to help me find my ground. I'm mostly pain free now, still doing my exercises, putting to use what I've learned. Like we said - gold standard. Our love and thanks to everyone at Synergy.

You can tell how much she (and all the doctors that I've seen) truly care about your children. She specifically is super educational. When she was talking to me about first feeding my baby solids, she gave me a whole background on why she thought it might be good to start at the time she recommended. I appreciated that so much. She always explains things a lot and makes it more understandable for me as the parent. Plus, she's caring, fun, and makes me feel at ease and comfortable. Let me just say I am wary of doctors. I don't know why and I don't know where it came from, but I just am not one to take the doctor's advice without any resistance or questioning. Though I've only been a parent for less than half a year, I have never felt resistant to the advice of the doctor's here, especially Dr. Boersma who I see the most. I just feel like they know what they are doing, they are caring, they don't make me feel stupid for asking questions, and they make me feel comfortable. All good things. When it comes to offices, I've been to both the Crozet and main Rio office. I definitely love the Crozet office best. It's so nice that there is really only one doctor at a time (except during walk in hours) so the waiting room is never crowded and the wait usually isn't long. This is nice, because I know I'm not going to be sitting in a room of sick kids just for a well check. Overall, highly, highly, highly recommend and especially recommend Dr. Boersma (if you couldn't tell)!
