He listened to the issues we were having and started to check the system. He quickly and efficiently determined that the connection in the logic board was flaky, (the vibration while opening/closing the door would cause a glitch and the opener would stop). He noted that when the connector was bumped or jostled the light would go out just as it did whilst operating the door. He explained the three options to resolve the issue (replace the logic board, replace the opener, or having us buy a new opener and he'd install it. All three options which presented a great value). He wasn't sure if they had a replacement logic board as the opener is 14 years old (Craftsman 1/2 HP). He disconnected the faulty one and went back to check. Fortunately they had a new replacement logic board, he called to see if it was convenient to come Back and install the new board for us He installed it efficiently and professionally. We reprogrammed the opener remotes and key pad. It is soooo nice to have an operational garage door opener again! Ryan continued working, even redressing the sensor wires to the opener (as when the garage door opener was installed the wires were just draped over them support hardware and looked like a rats nest), oiled the moving parts in the garage door (including spring) all after checking to see that the door moved easily and was balanced. I've gotten a handful of inquiries from various local garage door companies recently and this one stood out by far as the weirdest and worst. The tech called and texted me many times before the appointment but never left a voice or text message. When he texted he just called himself "garage tech" and wouldn't tell me what company he was with. Finally, when I answered the call (didn't know who it was because he wouldn't tell me via text and never left a message), he told me he was with Arvada Garage and he was sitting in the driveway for the appointment. He was about 20 minutes late and in a dirty Toyota minivan. He proceeded to give me the runaround on my questions and refused to give me any semblance of an estimate. The appointment went unlike any other garage estimate appointment I have had, and this "tech" didn't appear to have any specific knowledge about the garage door industry. After about 20 minutes of giving me the runaround, dodging all of my questions, and being generally unprofessional, I told the "tech" the appointment was over and asked him to leave. He argued several times, but eventually left. Someone else from the "company" called a few minutes later to ask what went wrong, but when I tried to explain how their process compared to others, he kept cutting me off and saying he could just give me an estimate on the phone immediately. Obviously a no for us. IMO, stay far away from this place, it reeks of illegitimacy.DXS

Too many companies in this space want to come out, upsell you, sell you on a service plan, and totally rip you off. Not with Ascent. They seemed very capable Of replacing our garage door motor and belt drive. They didn't specialize in our type of motor but offered a replacement option and bid three levels of replacement fully installed. They were friendly and I did not have a negative experience. We ended up using a different complaint but I have to say that this company was the first to respond to the project request before 7am in the morning and they were at our home to assess by 10am. I had a great experience and feel like they could have done the work just as easily.
