Walking in and greeting was great, crystal was very nice and informative about sales & memberships. I had Vicky wax my neck, nose and brows. While doing so, she was very nice, but when i got home and checked, she left wax in my hair and still missed hairs in my nose and a little on my brows. I understand maybe not all hairs will be pulled but she didn't do any clean up or check to make sure she got all the hairs or that she cleaned off excess wax. Was very annoyed that i had to pick wax off my neck and back of my head hair. I would like to go again but not with Vicky. I personally believe she only has this job due to her family in law owning it. I don't want or trust someone to wax me if they barely care for the work they are doing. I asked if this was something she loved doing and she then explained she only worked there because her old job sucked. Nothing personal with her but again i will not choose her again even if shes the only available one working. She also was supposed to wax, trim and shape my brows, all she did was wax the bottom, middle and top but she did not use any scissors to trim or shape my brows, super upset when that one wax service cost 21 dollars when other places cost $12-15 for just the brow wax. Other than Vicky's waxing skills, atmosphere was really nice and clean, i loved their hard wax, didn't hurt at all, really awesome formula. I see Vicky for my appointments. I've never gotten waxed before visiting here and this place was wonderful! The moment you walk in the door you're greeted warmly and Vicky is hilariously fun! She made my first appointment fun and easy and it wasn't awkward at all! She was way to just chat with and told me what she was doing throughout so I learned and knew the process-made my second appointment go even faster! She pays great attention to detail and I appreciate the smaller hairs she tweezed when the wax missed a couple. I never go home and have to pick or find other rogue hairs-Vicky (and in sure the rest of the staff) are great! I could not give this business enough praise. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Whether it be at the front desk or on the table, everyone has a smile on their face and seem genuinely happy to be helping you. They are also so clean and efficient. Getting my armpits waxed took me no more than five minutes and even so the job was done to the highest quality. Finally, their facility is classy and welcoming. I've been to another Waxing the City location several times, but the Minot franchise does a fantastic, more detailed job! All of the staff members were equally friendly and welcoming! It was my first time ever having a wax other than my eyebrows so I was super nervous to begin with but i talked to a lady on the phone for about 20 minutes going over options/prices and she was honestly the sweetest person ever she made it feel like i was actually important and wanting to make sure i got all the information i needed. Kita was my specialist & again was super nice (even though she said she was the most mean-one there) she got my mind off the fact i was having thousands of hairs being pulled off me at once haha! she was super down to earth, funny, and made me feel comfortable. I'm from Dallas Texas and I just moved here to Minot this past October. I've been searching for an establishment that uses hard wax. Waxing the City is the only place available. I scheduled an appointment with Kelsey. The front desk hosts are extremely friendly and the staff is overall extremely professional. I had informed Kelsey about my experience with waxing before. I have been getting only waxed for over a year. No razors! I always get a full Brazilian and underarms done. They schedule 45min slot for a Brazilian. For me that was odd because my Waxer back in Dallas only takes about 25mins to do a full Brazilian for me. (I know this depends on each client and how the hair follicle comes out) Prices here are also extremely expensive compared to what I pay back home. They charge $60 for a full Brazilian and $25 for underarms. Now compared my my lady back home $45 for a full Brazilian and $15 for underarms. Why does the price matter? Expensive means better quality? That's wrong. The moment I stepped into the room they gave me a cover to put over myself. I understand professionalism. I myself believe you're seeing it all, I've gotten this done plenty of times before why do I need this. Once she began waxing I noticed she does tiny little sections instead of large once and pulls pretty slow. Why she does this I'm unsure. As my waxer back home and Kelsey soon realize I'm extremely easy to wax as my hair just comes up. I have a high pain tolerance. I'm an extremely easy client. I expected to have a thorough job done and especially for the price. There shouldn't be one hair left. May waxer back home always did an amazing job. Never left one thing behind. Today after I was done I was not given a mirror to examine the work and see what was missed and when I got home I was completely disappointed. I had to tweeze the rest of the hairs myself. But even then there are small patches I can not get to. I called back to the store and told management. Their solution was offering a discounted service my next visit. I was not offered to come back in and be cleaned up by a more experienced waxer. I'm letting who ever is new to the area and looking for an amazing experience you will not find this here. Yes they are professional and compose themselves very well. They have a nice clean establishment. But as for you expecting to be completely cleaned and waxed fully, I'm unsure if there is someone who can make this possible. I can't wait to see my waxer when I move home. I appreciate her even more for how amazing of a job she does. For the price at waxing the city, you're paying for them to leave some hair behind. I hope you have some tweezers and are flexible because you'll need to clean up after your done paying almost $100 for services. read more

The ladies that work here are seriously the nicest, but this was the worst wax I've ever gotten. There is still so much hair. Idk if it was the wax they were using or the way they were waxing, but either way--it was pretty horrible. It's disappointing because their customer service was on point, it's super clean and a nice atmosphere. I might give it another chance (because there are really no other options here), but I was less than impressed! Fingers crossed next time is better. read more
