How Stefani doesn't have more reviews is beyond me! I came across Stefani's website because I was looking for a place that uses hard wax. I booked a same day appointment earlier this morning and was glad to see there was availability. Within minutes of my confirmation email, I got a text from Stefani to confirm my appointment. She then sent me a text message (not automated) with directions on how to get to the building and how to get inside. Oh, did I mention, there were pictures too? It really does not get easier than that. I followed Stefani's crystal clear instructions and got into the building with no trouble at all. The waiting area is very spacious and clean. I sent Stefani a text to let her know that I was outside and she responded instantly! Within a few minutes, she came out to greet me. Her work station is very well lit and spotless as well. Stefani has shots available to calm your nerves whether it's your first time getting waxed or your tenth time! If I didn't have to go back to work after my appointment, I would've definitely taken her up on her offer! Stefani's technique is fantastic! I've seen four other estheticians prior that all boast "painless" experiences. I can truly say my experience was painless. All the other estheticians I have seen cause me to wince when the wax is pulled off, despite them all using hard wax. Not once did I wince during the whole process with Stefani. You might think that painless is the equivalent to messy work that leaves behind strays. Not true in the slightest here. The main detail that differentiates Stefani from the other estheticians I've seen, is that she has a magnifying glass. She looks through the glass to double check the work and tweezes any strays. I was given a mirror to check the work, but didn't need it. Took a quick glance and everything was spotless. No strays at all. I have a low pain threshold, and Stefani made the process very easy. She's very personable and prices are fair. I will be back for sure! read more

Stefani is so consistent and thorough! I recommended her to a friend of mine, and my friend was happy with the service as well. Will keep telling everyone how great she is! read more

I don't know how she does it, but every time I come in for an appointment, the process is very quick and pretty much painless. Stefani is truly a professional, and she's always so friendly and very accommodating. She's great at communicating appointment details and keeps her workspace extremely clean. I'd absolutely recommend going to see her! read more

Stefani is the best - super kind and personable. I cannot recommend her enough for all your waxing needs!

Quick and pretty damn near painless! She uses hard wax which makes a ton of difference in terms of comfort level during the process. Thanks Stefani. I will definitely be back! read more

Beautiful little space, but Stefani is so fast you'll barely have time to admire it! She is friendly, professional, and the fastest wax I've ever had. Exactly what I look for in a waxing service. Highly recommend her whether it's your first time or you've been getting waxed for years. read more

Stefani has excellent availability and is very professional. She works quickly and makes it relatively painless. She is also helpful to talk to about things in general, especially various services in SF. She offers her services at a good value and is meticulous about her work. read more

Stefani is my go-to person for waxing. She's flexible and accommodating, plus genuinely does a great job. I'm a repeat customer. I have sensitive skin, and usually would break out after a waxing but have never had any problems with her wax. I'll keep coming back!! read more

Stefani was professional, efficient, and great to talk to. I felt very comfortable throughout my appointment and am happy with the results.

Stefani is a goddess. Went here for my first time and she was so nice - explained what the process would be like, and offered me a shot or whiskey since it was my first time. Definitely took her time to check in throughout to make sure I was comfortable and gave me a heads up to when things might be a little more painful here and there. Overall I went in terrified and left feeling so much better because the experience had been so smooth. Would highly recommend her and can't wait until my next appointment once everything settles down. read more

Stefani is one of the San Francisco Institute of Esthetics & Cosmetology's first graduates. She's an educator and an expert waxer! (Especially Brazilians) She is fast, efficient and knowledgeable. Her studio is private and easily accessible to BART and bike parking. Book your appointment every four weeks and you'll receive a discount. I'll be back for sure! read more

Stefani is simply the best! Do not waste your time or money elsewhere - I was getting less costly Brazilians and there is literally NO comparison. She has top notch products, a clean and inviting space and she's a total professional. All Covid compliance protocols are followed beyond even the basics. Best of all, she has a virtually painless technique!! And, she's just a lovely and intelligent woman who makes the experience enjoyable. Her booking site is so easy and she communicates so efficiently with reminders, etc. Make an appointment NOW- you won't regret it read more

My usual esthetician is out of town, but I could not wait until next week. I came to Stefani because she uses hard wax instead of soft wax with strips. If you are unfamiliar, hard wax dries quickly and does not use strips. It is much gentler on the skin and does not hurt as much. If you have sensitive skin or a low pain threshold, I recommend you try the hard wax. I texted Stefani with some questions before making an appointment, and she was very responsive. She also had availability a few hours later. The results are great, and Stefani was very friendly and professional! I will definitely be back to see her in the future. read more

Stefani is a real pro. While I can't say that waxing is totally painless (come on, let's be real here!), Stefani makes the whole thing so much more bearable because her waxing process is fast and effective. She puts you at ease, and is a good conversationalist ? chatting with her is a pleasant and helpful distraction from the 'work' that's happening, and for that I am grateful! read more

As everyone has already mentioned, Stefani is absolutely amazing. I gave birth 7 months ago and moved to SF from NYC. I was way overdue on a deforestation appointment but first, I needed to find a new spot. I read thousands of waxing reviews before deciding on Stefani. I mainly did so because of the type of wax she uses. I have VERY coarse hair and this is the only type of wax that removes the hair at the root instead of breaking it off. She was attentive and skillful. It's never a pain free experience BUT this was the fastest service I've ever had. read more

It took me two years back home in Ireland to find somewhere for a decent wax that didn't charge an arm and a (hairy) leg. Just when I had found somewhere I liked I moved to SF and it was back to the drawing board. I went to Stefani for a bikini wax based on her amazing reviews and there's a reason people love her! Starting with the ease of booking, the online system is so convenient, but of course you can email, call or text her. The studio is lovely and Stefani is so warm and friendly she puts you right at ease. I was amazed at how fast and efficient she was without ever feeling rushed or like she wasn't giving the job her full attention. The hard wax makes SUCH a difference pain-wise so between that and Stefani's friendly chit-chat I barely even noticed the whole process til it was done. (Also, she gives you the option of giving you a warning before pulling the wax off so you can brace yourself or just going for it; I've never been given that option before so really appreciated that!) She also gives you a mirror at the end to check that you're 100% happy with everything and nothing has been missed. I would absolutely recommend Stefani especially if it's your first time or you're nervous. She's so professional and thorough and so much more affordable than bigger salons for a much more personal and friendly service. I definitely won't be going to anyone else! read more

My best friend gave me the old school yelp by telling me I MUST TRY waxing by Stefani- and like most other things, she was right! The Salon itself was beautiful and luxurious. I think the waxing table may have been more comfortable then my bed. Stephani is awesome; here is why: -Really really good at waxing (no skin irritation, no missed hairs, no wax residue left) - Super easy to get in touch with (I called the main line, got her cell and texted her, she responded straight away and I was booked for that very same afternoon). -Affordable rates (same price point as janky nail salon waxing but WAY better service all around). - FAST (no one really likes being without your knickers with a stranger..well most people don't. This was seriously the fastest wax I have ever had) -PAINLESS (She uses some special wax that is designed for those sensitive areas down-there) -super friendly and relatable. I also found out that Stephani was an Attorney before she did this business! Clearly she is now applying all those IQ points and extreme attention to detail to provide SF with the best waxing services in town. Give her a try- you won't be sorry. read more

What was my life like before Stephanie? I can't even remember. I just moved to SF and have been to Stephanie twice and both times I've been in and out in under 30 minutes. This NEVER happens. Stephanie is not only fantastic at her job (the "procedure" is relatively painless too), but she's a complete pleasure to be around. She's friendly and organized and remembered tidbits about me after only my first visit! Plus, the folks at the salon, Metamorphosis, are super friendly even though you're not there to see them. Definitely GO SEE HER. Stephanie is the bombdizzle and I will never go to anyone but her ever again. read more

Simply put- She's incredible. It was my first time doing a Brazilian (something which I had been contemplating for years now) and have heard nothing but excellent things about Stefani. I had done a bikini wax last year that left me bumpy, red, in pain, and scarred emotionally! Needless to say, I was a bit freaked out. Stefani was super amazing. She told me upfront what to expect. She was quick, thorough, and very personable. She uses a strip-less wax-- didn't burn me or leave me all bumpy! I did the whole shibang, including the "backdoor" .. I got up and was amazed! No redness, no bumpy ouchie hurty things, no left behinds! She explained the aftercare and it was super helpful. It has been four weeks and my grow back is near to nothing and with hardly any in growns! Im going back next week for my maintenance! read more

I love Stefani! She is easy going, professional, and also fun to chat with! When she left EHS I tracked her down immediately to find out where I could keep seeing her and Metamorphosis is great! I have referred friends to Stefani and they cannot believe how painless waxing can be. Rather than dreading my appointments, I look forward to them. I would highly recommend Stefani to anyone :) read more

I purchased a groupon to see Stefani in October 2012, and I've been coming back every month since. This is the longest relationship I've ever been in! Seeing Stefani for a Brazilian is quick, painless, and easy. She literally gets it done in five minutes - 10 if she is having a slow day. Do you know how rare that is? Most spas take 30 or 45 minutes for a Brazilian. Heeeeeeeeell no! One time, she did my legs, Brazilian, and underarms simultaneously in no more than 20 minutes. I'm hooked. Go book an appointment with her right now. And then book your next one. Go see her once, and you will never stop. If I ever leave San Francisco I'll need to take her with me. I just don't know what I would do without her. read more

Soooo I was 3 months pregnant and starting to have trouble shaving my lady parts. I thought, "I can just grow it out! That's totally natural! It'll be fine." 4 weeks later and my boyfriend and I were frightened by the jungle I had unleashed. Natural sucks. So I knew I needed professional help. Based on her yelp reviews, Stefani seemed like a good choice... And the crowd is correct. Sure, it felt like the bundles of hair around the most sensitive part of my body were being ripped out. But Stefani was pretty quick and efficient at it, all the while coaching me along, getting me to breathe, and letting me curse. She even distracted me a bit with good ol' conversation. So I have a maintenance appointment... and I don't think I can ever go back to shaving again. read more

I recently discovered this gem in my neighborhood after searching "hard wax Brazilian". This place was right around the corner to my house and after doing some research discovered she had been in business for years. Her website was great, simple, to the point. She offers two ways to make appointments: e-mail or text. I immediately texted her and requested an appointment within the hour (hey, might as well try!). She got back to me quickly and said I could have my requested time. The salon is cute, her room is spacious and Stefani is very sweet. This is as pain free as you can get ladies. She also told me she uses the same wax as Bliss Spa in the W (except you pay $75 there). You will not be sorry if you come here! read more

Stefani was punctual, personable, and professional. The process was smooth and Stefani made sure that I was comfortable the whole time. The space is lovely and cute. I look forward to seeing her again in the future! Highly recommend! read more

Stefani is the best! Waxing with Stefani is such a pleasant experience. It's never fun to get waxed, but she makes it fun and chats you through the process. She's fantastic. read more

Stefani is fantastic and I won't go to anyone else! I went during this pandemic and felt completely safe. Stefani wears two masks + a plastic shield and obviously required that I wear my mask the entire time. Everything was sanitized and she had an air filter going. 100% recommend Stefani! read more

Stefani is awesome - she's very efficient at what she does. Distracts you so you don't think too much about the pain (yes, no matter how good a person is, it always hurts at least a bit) and then before you know it, it's over! Voila - zip, zip, zip. no mess, no fuss, just the way i like it. I was just there today (4th appointment) and in my rush to get there not too terribly late, I forgot to take ibuprofen to ward off any pain. Turns out, I didn't really need it. There was one brief flash but in an instant, it passed and I was out of there and on my way home to a very lovely Valentine's dinner. Woohoo! read more

Stephani was absolutely awesome. Fast, clean and as painless you can be with services of this nature, she handled by nervousness with ease and had me beach ready in a quick appointment. Her directions to her space were clear and her salon was Covid safe and pristine. I'll be a recurring client for sure. read more

Very professional and relaxing (as a wax can be). I just moved here and am so glad I found a great waxer this quickly!

Is there an option for six stars? I trust no one else - Stefani is my WOMAN. Always makes me comfortable and is so professional and friendly

Let me start this off by saying that this review is long over due. My friend convinced me that I should get a Brazilian wax and that is would change my life. So coming up on a Bloomspot deal, I heard about Stefani and purchased the deal. I was very nervous, but Stefani was fantastic. Considering I had never even had a bikini wax, she was so nice and patiently explained what she was doing and kept asking me how I was holding up. Yes it's going to hurt, but with Stefani's easy manner and calm surrounding, it doesn't feel so bad. read more

Just a wonderful experience from start to finish. Booking was super easy, I received a reminder text, and Stefani's directions for finding/getting into the building were very simple to follow. Stefani herself is very chill and easy to talk with! In terms of the wax, she is speedy and skilled, no bs. The space was also very well lit and clean. I'll definitely be back! read more

Stefani knows what she is doing. As someone who's moved a lot over the last decade, I've lost count of how many esthetician's I've seen, but Stephanie's been one of the best. She holds skin taught, knows when to use hard wax and keeps you distracted with her quick banter. I highly recommend Stefani to both first timers and veterans. read more

I would recommend Waxing by Stefani to anyone. I was recommended to her by my old waxer in Seattle as I have very sensitive skin and she uses a top of the line wax. The first time I went in the salon was beautiful and everyone was very friendly. They also offer water or tea which is a ++ for me. When I met with Stefani she is very friendly and warm. She is also funny so it makes the time go back quickly. I hadn't been waxed in a WHILE and she was very fast and efficient. This last time I went it was for a touch up wax a month later and she was SO fast I was surprised she was already finished! Not only that but it didn't hurt. I mean it. SO. If you're looking to get waxed by a friendly funny fast lady, Stefani is your woman. Also, super affordable and Metamorphosis is in a really easy to reach location and it's right by It's Tops so go treat yourself to fries and coffee after. read more

Stefani was amazing! She's extremely professional, and made me feel very comfortable. She's gentle and fast. The wax was virtually painless. I would definitely go back! read more

Stefani is a great professional and I have always been very happy with her service. She uses great products that makes a huge difference when doing bikini waxing! (Even if you are a beginner, please do go to her!) Now I am pregnant she was still able to help me and made me comfortable. read more

Stefani is the best waxer I have ever had - she somehow makes even a long overdue Brazilian painless! She's fast, yet doesn't miss any hairs. And she's a really nice person, too! You can book online, and she has lots of weekend & evening appointments. read more

I love seeing Stefani for my eyebrows - she is a true artist, always very thorough. I trust her, but I love that she checks in with me before, and during, giving me a mirror so that she knows we are on the same page. I have been to so many places that just do what they want, without even asking me! This time I decided to go for some bikini clean - up. I was nervous because I had never had a bikini wax, but Stefani was very patient, and made it as comfortable as possible. Don't get me wrong - it didn't feel great - but I am really happy with the results, and Stefani assured me that if I keep coming back on a regular basis, it will be less and less painful. I used to see her at EHS Pilates, and her new salon is really nice. Parking was easy, and the place is really pretty, I liked that they offered me a drink, and her new treatment room is really roomy and comfortable. read more
