I've been going to El Rinconcito for over a year now, so this review is long overdue…read more This is a great spot for affordable, delicious Mexican food--perfect if you're on a budget but still want a sit-down dining experience. I usually order the chicken tacos, and they're always incredibly fresh and consistently delicious. The sauces are especially flavorful and really elevate the dish. Today, my husband ordered the El Ranchero chicken, and all the flavors came together beautifully--rich, well-balanced, and very satisfying. This place is clearly popular, and it's easy to see why. Both the food and the service are consistently top-notch. On several visits, a manager has personally come by our table to check in and make sure everything is to our liking. That level of care really stands out and keeps us coming back. A must-visit on the Eastside!

Overall, I'd say the value is solid for a sit down location, but for tacos, it's pretty pricy and not particularly high quality. Would definitely opt for a taco truck or stand if I was craving Mexican, but if you're looking for a bite after some weekend shenanigans, this spot will scratch that itch. You order at the counter before seating yourself, but the staff will bus your tables. There's plenty of parking available and the salsa bar also has some fresh radishes and roasted(?) carrots that I found to be surprisingly well seasoned. Carne Asada Fries: Fries weren't as crispy as I'd like, but the toppings were solid. Beef was decently tender and they were generous with the amount of guacamole. It was my first time seeing beans on fries, but I thought it was pretty solid. Churros: These are definitely pre-made churros that get re-fried. I continue to be on the hunt for fresh churros in the Seattle area, but I wasn't mad at these. The custard had a nice mouthfeel and creamy sweetness, but the whipped cream was a little odd in that it didn't taste like anything at all. Mulitas: I wanted a little more meat in these, but they aren't bad. I like that some of the cheese crisps up a bit on the edges of the tortilla. If I was a little drunk, these would be elite.

I don't often get any Mexican food on the Eastside since I just haven't found a good one yet. And sadly, I have to admit that I still have not found any worth the drive across the lake. I ordered one of their burritos, hefty pricing but that's what you'd expect on this side of town. Not the heftiest burrito though for its price, but filling enough. Taste wise it was as a Yelp 3 Star describes, "OK". I've had a lot of Mexican food across the whole West Coast, and this one isn't any special. But of course I will have to try again another day.

The carnitas was my favorite out of the three tacos, lots of flavor! It had a touch of bitterness to it but my favorite overall, 4/5 The birria was good but was not as flavorful as I'd expected and the meat itself was a little dry, 3/5 The carne asada felt similar, yummy but also a it dry, 3/5. I haven't had a ton of horchata but I thought it was delicious. It was a balanced sweet and spiced, 5/5. I could see it being a little too sweet for some people but I personally loved it The godfather burrito wasn't anything too special, but the ingredients all felt high quality, 3.5/5 I love a chunky guacamole and this was quite smooth. It lacked flavor other than avocado but was clearly fresh, 2/5

They were like 7 1/2 dollars a piece now but what really surprised me was they are about half the size as before! These things used to be the size of small dachshunds and now for 7 1/2 dollars for a special burrito they are much smaller. Admitted I grabbed the bag. I was like wait a second. ..I thought maybe she made a mistake so I called the restaurant and she said that regarding the breakfast specials these are no longer jumbo burritos and said that they changed and went to a normal size burrito ...so not sure we're gonna go back ...Pretty odd that you change from a super sized jumbo burrito which we had had probably eight times before to something half the size (for the same price will actually for more because they used to be $5.24 )I'll even include a photo but they're still really good people and a great restaurant chain. Just the breakfast Special burritos is no longer what it used to be. Because it's a 'breakfast special' only for a limited time in the morning if I were them, I would've kept it as a jumbo. You don't start changing things on people. It's like going to Domino's to get a large pizza and they give you a medium. And it's not because eggs are expensive anymore. They're almost back to their normal prices.

Taqueria Guadalajara is my favorite taco spot on Eastside, if not so far in Seattle. I have been to…read morethis taco food truck numerous times last year and a half, vistin during week days, weekends, holidays - during day time, night time, etc. And I can say that every time that I have been here, the food has slapped! Located in the lot of a 76 gas station, this food truck may look unsuspecting, but serves up some delicious tacos at an affordable price. It's convenient too! Located near a Fred Meyer and a Asian Family Market, you can get your groceries and then you can fill up your car and eat some bomb tacos right after! There are so lots just around the gas station that people have parked at just to get these tacos. Service is fast, you place your order at the window, and you will get your tacos in 5-10 minutes. You will get your order on a paper plate, which usually means the food will be amazing or bad - luckily in this case, it's amazing. The tacos themselves are no frills and are juicy, flavorful, and very pleasant in terms of texture to eat. Though I have tried every other option they had for filling - I am a big fan of their lengua and their cabeza! Their lengua is tender and diced into soft bite-sized pieces, and gives a fall apart meaty texture. The cabeza is rich and melts away as you chew it, with some scrumptious leaner pieces of the meat that give the taco some integrity so it allows for you to feel the decadence and then give you something solid to hold onto - it's great. The meat themselves aren't salted very much, but still have a delicious subtle aromatic taste to them. They are complimented very nicely by the salsas they have - a salsa verde, and a spicier salsa that is made with habanero - I could easily down 5-6 tacos every time I have visited. You will probably spend $2-3 per taco depending on what cut of meat you want - I feel that the tacos are priced very fairly priced vs. the average taco you can get in Seattle currently. Not many other reviews have mentioned this - but I have also tried their Sweet Corn Tamales for $3. Their tamales are great! They are the perfect amount of sweetness and give a forward sweet corn flavor. The texture is exactly like eating a slightly sweeter corn bread. A very affordable price for a dessert where most desserts (especially tamales) cost $6-$8. This is one of the few food trucks that I have been to where not only is the food good, but the prices are what you would expect tacos to cost. I don't think I can write more about how great this Food Truck is, as the tacos here are definitely ranked the top in my mind for tacos I've tried here in Seattle so far. I would recommend if you are in the Overlake Shopping Area to check this place out!

Ordering was painless - there were a few people in line but it moved consistently. Only took maybe 5 mins total - super fast and friendly. The sour cream makes it creamy, which I didn't hate. Meat was tender and flavorful. The biggest surprise, though, was the four tortilla -- it was perfect! Tender but held it together. Super thin, as it should be. The whole package was tasty and big enough. It came with corn tortilla chips on the side, which I didn't expect -- they were surprisingly good! Seemed freshly fried.
