If you want to make 'waves' in your seafood dining, this is the 'wave' to catch! I was having a seafood craving and this place hit the spot! It was busy! We called ahead and they made room for our larger group of 6, but the tables around us were constantly full. Loved the nautical decor all around. We did get a baby high chair but I don't think I noticed a baby change table in the bathroom. Service was good, food took awhile but as mentioned above it was super busy here. For the food we ordered up an appetizer of calamari. Crispy and battered perfectly! The kids loved the batter and even ate quite a bit of the squid. Kids grilled cheese with fries- they loved it and were happy. Pan seared scallops- Nova Scotia's finest, pan seared in lemon butter, served with vegetables, potato or rice pilaf, fresh baked roll and coleslaw. I ordered the rice and it was so nice to have an option other than French fries. The rice and vegetables were delightful and the kids actually liked them quite a bit as well. The scallops were so tender and juicy and had a great portion. Lobster linguine- Sweet Atlantic lobster sautéed with fresh mushrooms, tossed in our signature lobster cream sauce and linguine pasta and served with garlic toast. So so rich and absolutely amazing flavor! This dish was so so good! Seafood combo: Fish and scallops Famous fish & chips battered or cracker crumbled, roll, coleslaw & tartar sauce. Waves is one of my Mom's favourite restaurants in Bridgewater so when visiting her I often take her there for lunch or supper. Service is always perfect - friendly, prompt and professional. The chowder is outstanding and a must have item every time I go. Fish and chips are a house specialty and you won't be disappointed. read more

So the biggest issue i had with this place was the service. It was later. Say 7:45. I have two kids. It took them 15 minutes to seat us....in a near empty restaruant. The male server treated us like crap. Was unfriendly. And I couldn't help but think it was because we have a daughter with significant disabilties. It made us feel all uncomfortable. We would have left and found somwhere else but it was already 7:45 and we wanted to get to our hotel room. Inside is pretty plain and lacks comfortablity. Decent size menu with lots of seafood, pasta, and diner dishes. Portions were huge. Food was delicous. Everyone enjoyed their food although the service put a bitter taste in our mouth. I wouldn't come here because of how we were treated. But the food is really good. read more

Waves Is not a bad place... catering a lot to the elderly... and everybody in between! There are spacious Booths and tables & Chairs as well... On the weekends they have a very GOOD Breakfast, fairly reasonable... Most of their menu is rather pricy, but the food is always good... There's a great waitress there called "Rose"...she is fast and efficient... one or two of the others are running on "Mexican Time" so expect to wait a bit for you Order to be taken and your Bill to turn up... Usually we "luck out"... I like the "Haddy Bits"... and there are a few other things like their "Clubhouse", and their "Western" that "fill the hole"... It's real busy around the end of the month [pension cheques] so phone ahead. read more

Worst fish and chips I've ever had in NS. It was old and had a terrible aftertaste. My companion tasted it and was equally surprised at how old and dry it tasted. I had chowder here 5 years ago and it was great...this was awful. Even the fries were cold and unappetizing. The waiter was lovely though. read more

Okay, so I've just had another lunch here with my Mum, and I have to upgrade my review. I had my usual zesty orange ginger stirfry with chicken and my mum had the shrimp platter with cracker crumb coating. This was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had (admittedly I was hungry)! I just can't find any fault with it -- it was superb. Always great and helpful service, and the food was piping hot and perfectly seasoned and cooked. Can't wait to come back. read more

We heard about this place by word of mouth from the staff. This was the best place we went to in the local area. The seafood was fresh and well prepared . it was simple clean dishes and had a nice homemade touch. The food is very good for sharing and we recommend to try the calamari. It was the best one we had so far. I loved ever bite of it. The restaurant seems quite receptive to feedback and I gave us a feedback sheet to review their service. I appreciated that. read more

We ordered a $73 worth of food yesterday for takeout. We explicitly stated we wanted cracker crumbs for all four orders. We live 50k away and checked it out when we got home. Only one was cracker crumbs, and the fish and fries were SATURATED with fat. We called the restaurant and the waitress that served us ARGUED with us that we got what we ordered, but did offer a gift card. BTW, this is the second time this has happened with the same waitress. I brought it to the attention of the owner. He agreed that arguing with a customer IS NOT appropriate. This morning he got back to me and removed the offer of restitution because my daughter expressed her concern on social media. So much for the issue of addressing our concerns, and the owner should brush up on customer service skills. We were long time customers but will never set foot in the place again. read more

Nestled in Bridgewater's Eastside Plaza is Waves Seafood & Grill. Understated from teh outside, Waves has a great selection of seafood items, sandowches & burgers. If you order the fish & chips, 1 piece of haddock is MORE than enough. Great place to grab lunch if you're shopping in Bridgewater. read more

"20 Years of Eating at Waves" Pending review My family and I have been eating at Waves for over 20 years and have spent hundreds of dollars there, but after my experience with them today I will never spend another dime there. I don't know if the management has changed but they have become incredibly stingy and not very friendly. We ordered three pieces of fish and two orders of potato skins and two large coleslaw. With a bill well over $40, we were told that we were not allowed to have tartar sauce with our fish. What??? Apparently you are only entitled to tartar sauce if you buy fish and chips, not fish and potato skins, even though the fish and potato skins is a lot more expensive than just fish and chips. I was told that is their policy, regardless of whether or not it makes any sense. Talk about a stupid business move! Never again! I will be sure to spread the word far and wide both here online and in person to avoid this restaurant at all cost, there are so many other choices and places where they don't hoard their tartar sauce. Waves has gone downhill...all the way down to the gutter! read more

Good seafood although I've found them to be inconsistent. Their cracker crumb fish & chips batter is usually great, but I've gotten it once and it tasted like a cigarette! Their other fish batters are decent too. Their clams are pretty good; I don't think we've ever had any problems with them. Their desserts (homemade pies) are really good but expensive. All-in-all, I would say this is the best seafood I've had from a restaurant in the area when its made well! read more

I love the fish 'n' chips here -- nice crispy batter with a good hunk of fish inside; good chips; please bring more of that delicious coleslaw. The coconut cream pie is pretty darn good too even if it doesn't have real whipped cream on top. Other selections are good. Just an all-round good fish 'n' chips joint! read more
