Only popped in to have a quick look around with a friend but ended up staying for a nice cuppa. Friendly staff and atmosphere, a selection of things to do - just wish I lived nearer my friend to use the facilities! read more

I went to use the track, which is a floodlit, 400m, cushioned, all-weather surface... i was a joy to run on! Looking in from the outside, the various pools and slides looked great fun, while people walking around looked warm and relaxed... no-one was scurrying around due to the temperature here! Looking on the website, there is a gym and even a climbing wall tucked away in there... a real gem indeed! Plenty of free parking, although Mountfield Road now has so many humps on it that you feel like you've done a workout getting the car there. It's only five minutes walk from the station though and ten from the centre of town... much less if you chose to run there, of course!

Whilst on a 6 week training programme, the instructor said that I should never use the cross trainer. He also advised that I should build up to a light jog on the treadmill over the course of 6 weeks so that my lungs are strong enough to cope. Half way through this programme, whilst on the treadmill, I overheard another member of staff ridiculing me. I cancelled my membership and have not been back since.

There are fab exercise classes that you need to book in for, the gym has a wide range of equipment. The pool is small which lets the place down somewhat. The bar/restaurant area is good and kids are welcome, good food at reasonable to expensive prices, so occasional treat rather than regular feature. Good kids clubs mainly for under 10s, need to be booked. I like it there. Tennis, badminton & squash courts.

Many activities go on here, parties can be held here in the soft play area. Food is average. Nice to have a decent cup of coffee and a relax whilst kids burn off their energy. Soft play area is of reasonable size and is clean and well maintained. My favourite activity here is the after school bowling for schoolchildren which is available term time, costing only £1.75 per child, not bad for a couple of hours entertainment, although once treats and drinks are added (Although optional) the cost builds up.

Two of us came here in February on a Monday morning, granted this is off season, but nothing seemed open and the town itself seemed completely asleep all morning. The marina is beautiful and has a variety of food options, but not much opens until 11am or 12pm. The boats are shining and the water looks clean as the sun beams down across it all. The bathrooms are upstairs and the disability bathrooms are locked on the first floor which seems quite disappointing in case of emergency. The bathrooms upstairs surprisingly had a good electric dyson hand dryer and was clean, although inconvenient to get to. Tip/Takeaway: Would not recommend planning on spending much time here other than passing through to get to the Undercliff Walk and making a bathroom break upstairs.
