Two of us came here in February on a Monday morning, granted this is off season, but nothing seemed open and the town itself seemed completely asleep all morning. The marina is beautiful and has a variety of food options, but not much opens until 11am or 12pm. The boats are shining and the water looks clean as the sun beams down across it all. The bathrooms are upstairs and the disability bathrooms are locked on the first floor which seems quite disappointing in case of emergency. The bathrooms upstairs surprisingly had a good electric dyson hand dryer and was clean, although inconvenient to get to. Tip/Takeaway: Would not recommend planning on spending much time here other than passing through to get to the Undercliff Walk and making a bathroom break upstairs.

The kids pool used to have animals painted around the walls and was really bright and cool. The adult pool is a moderate size, good enough to swim a few lengths. It's changed quite a lot now as it has become more corporate but it's still got the same aspects of a leisure centre you would expect. A good pool for the family.

There is plenty going on and it is run by SDC so is linked with the leisure centres in Sevenoaks and Swanley meaning membership can be used in any of the three. They run some great kids activities in the school holidays and also toddler activites every week. Access is great, staff are friendly and there is plenty of parking.

Some of the office ladies are nice but some of them are rude, and some of the gym trainers are on their phones by the desk and sometimes there isn't anyone there to help and they sometimes talk behind your back to the other staff, i overheard one of them made a comment about what I was wearing. I feel very annoyed by that, I pay membership to be disrespected by staff? Over all the machines and the gym is nice and k2 has a variety of different things to do and nice events.

The park has loads of swings , see-saws, roundabouts, merry-go-rounds and there are benches for parents or guardains to sit back and enjoy. The car-park is free and during the summers you can buy ice-crems from the ice-cream vans standing here or from the cafe situated within the park. There is a toy-train as well in the park and you get to go round the park twice for a small fee of £1.

We were in the studio and it is a good room with mirrored walls and a sprung floor. I've also competed in a number of TKD tournaments in the main sports hall. The center offers the expected range of classes from keep-fit to more team based activities. The amenities are good with clean changing areas. There is also a full gym for exercise heads and a decent looking swimming pool. The staff are fairly helpful and identified by branded tee shirts. There is also a canteen that serves a basic range of foods including jacket potatoes and chips, beans and other fried snacks. Being a place of fitness, I find this a little bizarre, but I suppose they serve what the public want. Go figure! There are also glass backed squash courts and you can hire courts for badminton or basketball. All in all a pretty decent sports center for the town, but you will need a car or a bus ride to get there as it is located on the outskirts of Burgess Hill.

They have a large fun pool which has acouple of chutes and than there isa competitive pool. The prices are a little expensive but its all good and clrean. They also have a gym if you wanna join and thay have table tennis , tennis, football and loads of other stuff.

Yep living near the Park is paying off nicely at the moment - my new local council swimming pool is none other than the Aquatics Centre! It's been open to the public for the last few weeks and I have to say it's a pretty special venue - I still get tingles every time I walk in. It's £4.50 per swim session for an adult and there's an easy peasy online system to book in advance. There are 2 full size pools inside - the Competition Pool for the hardcore swimmers and the Training Pool where they separate the lengths into two 25m sections. Personally I found a 50m pool to be ridiculously long in real life (my superwoman stamina is a err work in progress) so I tend to do laps in the 25m lanes. You choose a pool and a start time online but it's pretty lax once you're in, and you can stay as long as you like. The water is a nice slightly warm temperature and it's usually a uniform 1.2m depth all the way along (though somehow they can change the depth of different sections - the mind boggles!). It's not all lanes - there are also sections of the pool roped off for 'fun' as well as swimming lessons. Also saw signs for a total wipeout stylee 'Splash Time' for kiddies at weekends that sounded like great fun if anyone wants to lend me a child?! The reason it misses a 5th star is that the changing rooms and shower facilities are just not that great. It's spacious yes and there are plenty of cubicles, hairdryers and lockers, but the layout is a little confusing (quite a wander from the lockers to the female showers), they seem to have too many staff/cleaners milling around not doing much, and the showers themselves seem temperamental and need you to wave a hand past every 3 seconds. Is this how Michael Phelps showered?! (*pauses to enjoy the mental picture*) Ahem. Yeah I expected better. So remember to bring your own towel+toiletries, a plastic bag for your wet cozzie (I haven't spotted a drying machine yet) and a £1 coin for the lockers. And please only tell your special friends - the nicest thing at the moment is that it isn't too busy on weeknights! See you there :)

The changing space however is really poor for this kind of aquatics centre - you can really tell you're just meant to come, quickly change, swim and leave. There are few showers and they are quite temperamental. The lockers and cubicles are just not that comfortable to use. So it's a very good pool, but come there for exercise only and not hoping for a full spa experience!
