Question1 : Training Pool Can you please advise
why the hours when the training pool is available is so limited. I am trying to
teach my grandson to swim. Saturdays are not always available and you get about
3 hours if your lucky on a Sunday. One time I was there I counted 41 people in
the pool. Why are you not more flexible? I did try swimming lessons for my
grandson but after 4 terms he did not get anywhere, not because of the teachers
but because he really needs one to one. I tried Motcombe, but the water is too
deep in the shallow end at it was difficult. You should be encouraging
youngsters to swim, and I feel you are not customer orientated. When I do ring
up to see if its open I often get your answerphone message several times
because staff are too busy. Also why should I have to give my phone number to
get a response? to me
Answer 1 Dear Mrs. Geering,Thank you for your Email regarding the Training Pool. The Training Pool has limited availability due to the high number oflessons we offer, and at weekends it is popular for birthday Parties. We have over 1,200 young people learning to swim at The SovereignCentre and take our obligations to encouraging children to swim veryseriously. The Fun pool is available each Monday Friday between 10:30 12:30or on Saturday and Sunday between 09:30 11:30 when there are no waves andan excellent environment to teach a child to swim.We do also offer One 2 one swimming lessons, for further details, please contact our swimming lesson co-ordinator via helen.naylor@leisure.serco.com alternativelyif your grandson is a little older now, he may be ready for the grouplessons.Kind RegardsPaul MatthewsPartnership Manager Response 2

Subject: Re: Enquiry [I]So what I
am saying is right, its just a few hours on a Sunday if you are lucky. I don't
agree that the fun pool is a good environment to teach someone to swim. Not
everyone can afford swimming lessons either.I am also
concerned about the standards of hygiene and always have been. Swimmers and
walkers using the same thoroughfare. Bird excrement outside with no effort to
clear it away. Yes I know you are by the sea, but if someone treads in it which
it is hard not to, and then walks inside you are going to get cross contamination.
I am going to take this up with Environmental Health. Also you insist on
youngsters having to wear swimming hats for lessons, which are so tight they
made my grandson cry, why, surely not hygiene?I do not
think you are customer friendly at all, you may think you have the market as
there are no other swimming pools near, but that does not make it right. Please
don't bother to reply. I am really disappointed in this facility, and just hope
it is not being subsidised. I cannot face another standard reply. On Mon,
