When I was a kid this was like the coolest thing you could ever do for a birthday party. Three pools, rapids, loads of flumes, a pirate ship, a raining cloud, snakes that shoot you with water, palm trees...I know! How awesome is that! As a kid this experience is totally a 5 star, pee in the pool with excitement experience, there is a little cafe where you can have chips and fizzy pop with your friends after hours of fun in the pool. As an adult, it holds all the excitement but doesn't quite deliver. We are grown-ups after all and a big plastic snake is only believable up to a point. It's worth it if you really like flumes though as they are pretty fast. I was call in advance first as sometimes they don't have enough staff to have them all open at once. read more

This is the second new pool we have discovered this year as part of our annual summer tour of the best fun pools in reach of London. The kids stop training four nights a week with their swimming club for the school summer holidays which leaves a little gap in our aqua life. To find new pools now means searching in ever increasing circles which is how we (i had two 9 year old with me) ended up jumping on a train to Bracknell. So return train tickets with a plus bus ticket for travel in Bracknell was about £17 for the three of us with a family and friends railcard. Hour on the train and then a bus journey (171 or 172) 10 mins to the middle of nowhere followed by a rather pleasant 10 minute stroll through some woods with iphone in hand tracking our route. The trek was worth it. This is a seriously good pool. As the signage says "Be excited...." and we were. About £17 for the three of us for a two hour session in the pool...we stayed in a bit longer. An expensive pool but worth every penny. Clean changing facilities, lockers that return your pound coin (I like that.), good showers with free shower gel from dispensers (never seen that at a pool before) and lots of friendly staff. All side show stuff though - the pool is why we are here. So flumes first....that is really why we had trekked an hour and a half from Waterloo. So 3 flumes on offer - " the snake river flumes" Python - the family slide - you can ride with a small child with armbands Anaconda - medium Boa Constrictor - fast All the slides were fine for 9 year olds - plenty of younger kids going down the slower two. Really well designed. Its a long way up the stairs - queuing worked well - unusually you queue on the ground floor and go up the stairs in batches of 7. Queues moved quickly - we had eight goes - and the whole area is heated which makes this a great option in winter. A solid selection - these are long flumes and all of them fun. The Boa constrictor is fast and makes our top 5 - but not the fastest. Rest of the pool is great fun but not somewhere to swim. This is for splashing and playing - no training here. Its beach style with a giant pirate ship with waterjet cannons, a volcano with the best water jet we have known. No wave machine here - didn't miss it - the water jet spraying across the pool makes its own waves. This was a big hit with the 9 year olds (and me). Great bubbling geysers dotted all over the pool - lots of these - and they were powerful and fun. Couple of rapid style swim around the islands with good jets and geysers - the currents from these were really strong. A lazy river that sweeps outside - really warm water outside even though it was chilly today - I can see this being great on a really hot day. Big bubble bed separate pool, separate jacuzzi pool and a really well designed little kids play area with tipping buckets waterfalls etc.. Has a cafe that you can use from within the pool area. The kids did eat after we swam - basic stuff - chips/fish finger beans and chips. I couldn't face anything but hey we are at a pool I didn't come to eat. Also has saunas and a gym. This is a pool that is perfect for a family day out whatever the ages of your kids, I know this will become a regular slot on our annual pilgrimage and plan to return again this summer. I took my little one here and although she liked the hour or so we were there I would not recommend. The whole place looks like it has not been painted in years. The changing rooms were covered in old hair and needed a wash too. There is a little lazy river but it was packed with people and it took about 30 seconds to float around. There was a jaquizzi/ hot tub but I was not going to sit in there.....it was like having a small bath with a load of strangers. They have the tubes but there was a massive wait in the freezing cold. If you have not been to any waterparks in the US or Europe then yes you might like this but if you have don't bother going here. The people who run this should go abroad and see how clean and big other waterparks are and could learn a good lesson. read more

Gets very busy in the summer holidays. The queues can be long for the flumes and the water is quite deep at the bottom. Nice in the evenings as they have adults only sessions. Free parking, restaurant, saunas and steam rooms. read more

A superb water leisure facility opposite The Look Out. Coral Reef is designed for leisure swimming primarily with a large free-form pool complete with slides, water cannon, lazy river and toddler pool. The water is lovely and warm and the air temperature is also very good. Changing facilities are pleanty and there are good family rooms which are ideal if you go with children. A cafe and viewing area is to be found at first floor level. The food is OK, nothing special. It's also rather warm up here! The facilites are well kempt and lifeguards are watchful. It can get very crowded at peak times but there's always a corner to be found! The related Sauna World might appeal to the adults in your party. Joint tickets with The Look Out provide even better value tickets for families and the different venues can be visited on different days. read more

The Coral Reef is a great adventure pool for kids. It costs £6.95 for adults and £4.80 for under sixteens. Under fours go free. The family changing rooms are some of the biggest I've seen and are very clean. As has been mentioned, it gets very busy on school holidays and at the weekend. However, it does open at 9am on the weekends and the first hour is usually pretty quiet. The pool has been designed with fun in mind and is centred around a giant wooden pirate ship. Next to this is a three tiered toddlers pool with baby slides. There are three big water slides acessed via a spiral staircase and at busy times a queuing system operates. You can accompany younger children on the slowest slide which is great fun. The fastest slide is an almost vertical drop and is only suitable for older kids and adults. During the week they offer swimming lessons which take place in the slide pool. read more

Coral Reef, is a great place for all the family, it is always clean. They have a wave machine which is great fun. The water slider are thrilling... They have a pirate ship which has water cannons for the little ones to play on. with a small shallow area for small children, with a lovely little slide and rain cloud above. A volcano that shoots water right across the pool, which is a little cold, but it is always nice to swim around :) The jacuzzi laps over the edge, and you can sit under the water, while it comes down in front of you looking almost solid, like glass. All in all a fab day out for all the family. read more

My little 3 year old loved the pool and especially the toddler slides. She also loved the idea of the pirate ship in the middle and she tried on the free arm bands. Once she discovered the flumes she was more than happy to wait in the queue and we went down a number of times. We stayed more than the two hours and there seemed to be no pressure for people to leave at a certain time- but we did go early in the morning. We also experienced the rapids, which were a bit a disappointment from my memories as a kid and also there was no wave machine- which also left me sad. We did have fun in the outside bit with my little girl enjoying jumping in from the outside into the warm pool. I didn't like the tiny changing cubicles far too small for one adult and a toddler to change. But showers were plenty and free shower gel is always a plus. Need to remember to bring plenty of change for car parking although there is a little cabin near the entrance which will provide you with change if needed. We went on a Sunday at 9am and no queue to get in, but by the time we left at 11 there was a long queue to get in. read more

We also love Coral Reef. The kids always choose it as their treat place to go swimming. The only problem is that in the holidays the queues are out of the door, so you are for a long wait to even get in the place. I personally love going with DH so he takes the kids in the swimming bit and I get to go in Sauna World! read more

we went here in the half term holiday, arrived around 11am & struggled to find a space in the car park, before embarking on a 1/2 hour queue to get in. the wrist band system allows you about 2 hours inside we found the pool to be a little chilly, very busy, & on the whole a quite unpleasant experience the rapid's are very powerful there's quite a few water jets all around, so you need to keep your wits about you or you'll have your head knocked off armbands are freely available to all poolside there's LOADS of life guards there's three flumes which, although there's quite a queue, are great i don't think we'll be going back read more

We spent at least 90 mins in the pool. Took my now 2 years and 3 month daughter a while to get settled as we haven't been there before . After that she loved the slide on the ship and swimming up and down the pool area near the ship. Everything in the pool was brilliant would go there again , but only there. We were hungry after wards so decided to try the cafe up stairs as it was near. We ordered sausages,chips and beans for me and fishfingers chips peas for her and hotdog and chips for my husband. Have to say the food was disgusting! The cokes were well watered down and tasted all gassy, not worth the £2.50 each for them . The food tasted like old style school dinners and came on plastic disposable plates and stupid plastic cutlery. How was my daughter supposed to use them? We asked if they had normal cutely which they did and my question is why couldn't they put them out for the public to use if they had them? They had no ketchup and no vinegar. All in all it's not worth the £20 plus that we paid for it. Would not be going back there again especially when there was a mac Donald's near by that would have been cheaper. We only stayed there as she was getting hungry. Would go to swim but not to eat. read more

Great place to go, especially with kids. They have three different water slide tubes with the medium one being the best in my opinion as the fast one just ended too quickly. They have a lot of themes with a pirate ship and volcano and good facilities. The wave pool isn't really waves like i was expecting, it's more like a river where you can float around in a circle which is nice and relaxing. I would definitely recommend coral reef! read more

This is a fab place to take your children. There is loads to do for kids of all ages (and planty for adults too). There is a wave machine and water slides and also quite a nice cafe. The main reason I like Coral Reef is because they operate a tag system so it never gets too crowded even in the summer holidays. read more

I have been attending the Sauna World at Coral Reef nearly every weekend since 1993 and I think this is the best place one can go to for such bathing. There are two Saunas, the mild Tropical and the hot Finnish, along with a Sanarium and Japanese Steam Room which boast an upper and lower tier levels There is also a small gym, which bear the rather posh name of Health Studio. To train in the gym, one must have an induction session, but the current price of £15-00 pays for an overall assessment, including height and weight measurement, blood pressure and level of fitness, and then to be included on a register which allow free use of the gym every time one pays for the use of Sauna World, which also gives full access to the entire Coral Reef pool and flumes. The only two negative things I can say about Sauna World is that the Plunge Pool water usually gets warm during the summer months, as there is no cooling regulator fitted. And in the gym there is only one elliptical cross-trainer, a frustrating situation if one is tight for time and find somebody else has just began a workout. Overall, I rate Sauna World as very good and good value for money. read more

One of my major complaints with this place is if you live nearby they don't have any facility to store pushchairs in a locker. I think it is more fun for older kids than younger ones here. Gets very busy when schools are out. read more

Coral reef is a very large swimming pool with a lot of activities. The prices are reasonable with friendly staff. High hygeine levels are also kept and the swimming pool itself is full of wonders. There are water spurting snakes, a waterfall, a massive volcano, large jacuzzi, saunas, 3 flumes and whirlpools, also an outside part. This means that you can have hours of fun with friends or by yourself and after that you can always go up to the café/restaurant which has really good food so I recommend you check that out! read more
