The manager and assisstant manager have been there fore almost as long as I have been alive so they know what they are doing. I would discuss the facilties they have but would go on forever so check the website out and get involved.

Two of us came here in February on a Monday morning, granted this is off season, but nothing seemed open and the town itself seemed completely asleep all morning. The marina is beautiful and has a variety of food options, but not much opens until 11am or 12pm. The boats are shining and the water looks clean as the sun beams down across it all. The bathrooms are upstairs and the disability bathrooms are locked on the first floor which seems quite disappointing in case of emergency. The bathrooms upstairs surprisingly had a good electric dyson hand dryer and was clean, although inconvenient to get to. Tip/Takeaway: Would not recommend planning on spending much time here other than passing through to get to the Undercliff Walk and making a bathroom break upstairs.

My favourite activity here is the after school bowling for schoolchildren which is available term time, costing only £1.75 per child, not bad for a couple of hours entertainment, although once treats and drinks are added (Although optional) the cost builds up.

There is plenty going on and it is run by SDC so is linked with the leisure centres in Sevenoaks and Swanley meaning membership can be used in any of the three. They run some great kids activities in the school holidays and also toddler activites every week. Access is great, staff are friendly and there is plenty of parking.

The changing rooms and shower area have all been renewed and the centre as a whole has a nice quiet and relaxed feel to it. There are also two large sports halls, a gym to grow those muscles and a selection of exercise studios for classes. It is a shame there was not a huge float or wave machine for children, but it has some great space to have some splashing fun and swim some lengths. I would recommend the King Alfred Leisure Centre as a place to take the kids on a cheap day out. I was quiet lucky to get access for free on the day as they were giving out free day passes (keep your eyes peeled).

The floor of the pool can be raised or lowered depending on what event it is hosting - very clever. The gym is very modern with all the latest gear for you to use. It also has a number of indoor courts for volleyball, badminton, basketball, 5-aside football etc. The changing rooms are kept very clean with alternate wet and dry rooms for swimming and other activities. The facility is free for soldiers and their dependents and other discounts are also available. It has excellent opening hours to suit everyones needs. Due to 50m pools across the country being categorised as national assets, swimming can sometimes be disrupted by school swimming sessions, but this is a small price to pay for an otherwise fantastic facility.

Some of the office ladies are nice but some of them are rude, and some of the gym trainers are on their phones by the desk and sometimes there isn't anyone there to help and they sometimes talk behind your back to the other staff, i overheard one of them made a comment about what I was wearing. I feel very annoyed by that, I pay membership to be disrespected by staff? Over all the machines and the gym is nice and k2 has a variety of different things to do and nice events.

The center offers the expected range of classes from keep-fit to more team based activities. The amenities are good with clean changing areas. There is also a canteen that serves a basic range of foods including jacket potatoes and chips, beans and other fried snacks. Being a place of fitness, I find this a little bizarre, but I suppose they serve what the public want. Go figure! There are also glass backed squash courts and you can hire courts for badminton or basketball. All in all a pretty decent sports center for the town, but you will need a car or a bus ride to get there as it is located on the outskirts of Burgess Hill.

The sports complex sits right at the top of the hill, just of the Refectory road, which leads out of the University. On top of its impressive gym, inside, outside too it has a large Hockey pitch which doubles up as two sizeable 6 aside football pitches as well as tennis courts and 6 well maintained full size grass football pitches. Brighton and Hove Albion first team train on the pitches and use the gym, which of course is a testament to its quality. Price wise, gym membership is incredibly good value for money if you are going a few times a week at £130 for the year (for students) and a less good, but still not bad £360 for the general public. Due to the large price drop for students, I would highly recommend this gym for people still studying.

On a Wednesday afternoon the Sussex University sports team play here so there is always some good sport action to watch. The gym membership for a year of £130 is so much cheaper than anywhere else in Brighton you would be mad not to use these facilties if your nearby.
