However, it turned out to be a fantastic match, as Sharon is top-notch at what she does and just as enjoyable of a person to spend the hour with. A certified hand specialist, Sharon Soleimani MOT, OTR/L, CHT, is a specialist for testing hand injuries. She is certified in hand therapy and is the best that I have experienced. As a nurse, I am very critical in who provides me the care I need. A certified OT is very different than a CHT. We are so glad that we found Dr. Muchaneta . My mother had a great experience with Dr. Muchaneta when she injured her forearm and wrist after a bad fall last Christmas. After just a few sessions with Dr. Muchaneta, my mother's rotation improved significantly and her pain went away. She was extremely happy with the progress made in such a short amount of time, especially at her age (she is 70 years old). Dr. Muchaneta provided excellent care and attention throughout the entire process, and it was clear that she had a lot of experience and expertise in treating these types of injuries. Sharon is an amazing provider. With her patient help my arm/wrist has healed beautifully. I had a nasty fall and landed on my arm causing a compound fracture of my arm, necessitating surgeries including metal rods and screws. The wrist break was not initially diagnosed, necessitating a second surgery which lengthened one of the rods to connect the wrist. The one rod, now two pieces connected, was healing crooked. There was a painful bump where the connection was coming out of alignment as it was healing. Sharon's skilled hands straightened it out and the result has made it worth every minute. Thank you, Sharon! Therapy here at Wave is more hands-on than any place I've been for any therapy. That's the biggest, most important thing that assists our healing. I've had ongoing challenges relating to receptive motion injuries in conjunction with my profession for many years . After a recent repair to a torn and severely painful major elbow tendon, I was partnered with Josh (Kwon) for both Physical & Occupational Therapy. From day one I realized two things: 1) I would regain the highest and best use possible of my elbow and 2) I'd found a new friend. While any recovery can be challenging & PT wouldn't be considered fun, Josh's expertise and knowledge for regaining movement, use and strength is top notch. His variations of common items used for therapy made it simple to grasp while gently pushing me towards allowing my body to heal with natural movements. At each appointment he was on-time, "present and attentive" for my specific session, with a vision for my healing. Each visit allowed me to graduate gradually towards a greater range of use and motion, which had become nearly obsolete. I am a current patient of Joshua Kwon and have been for the last several months, following him from his last location to this nice new one. He is truly a miracle worker, and willing to go the extra mile for his patients. I broke my arm in October of 2018 and had to have surgery two weeks later. I was a pretty difficult case, suffering nerve damage and in a lot of pain! Eventually, his hard work and instruction for the work I did on my own time was what ultimately took the nerve pain away and brought back the use of my wrist and hand. Josh has been there for me through each step of my recovery process, knowing when to push me harder and when to ease back when it was to much. I love the new location, the convenience of getting there and the ample parking, and yes, I'm one of those people that stresses over parking! Here's the deal, I have been to a few hand therapists due to an injury prior to surgery. After having surgery on a trigger release I was pointed in the direction of Wave Hand Therapy. Like anyone I was nervous to start over with someone new because I hadn't seen any progress with the others. Little did I know, Sharon specializes in hand therapy and this experience would be so much better. Not only does Sharon focus on the injury, the scar tissue, and range of motion but she focusses on the why and how. I had no clue one tiny movement in my thumb connected to so many muscles up my arm. Not only did Sharon take the time to explain this but she focussed on these first, rather than forcing me into exercises on the first and second meeting. I was so relieved because I didn't want to walk away in pain after already dealing with the pain of surgery/recovery. I also think it's important to note that Sharon takes the time to listen to you and actually hear you and she doesn't belittle you. I cannot tell you how often I have felt that with this particular injury -since it's "just a thumb." If you are reading this in search of a therapist and you have a choice, choose Sharon. If you are coming here because insurance chose for you, be grateful that they made such a great choice! I still have sessions with Sharon to finish out the therapy I am in now, but this is how confident I am about my experience thus far! That's why I am sharing it with you today. With Josh's expertise and guidance, each session incrementally restored my wrist flexibility and hand strength to full functionality. Sharon is the BEST. Not only is she very knowledgeable in her profession, she is extremely caring and truly wants the best for her patients. I had surgery on my left ring finger due to a football injury, and was still having problems going through rehab. Sharon was there with me every step of the way. I potentially needed to have a second surgery, and Sharon accompanied me to the doctors office to give my doctor an update on how my finger was doing. The doctor was running behind, and Sharon waited with me in the waiting room for OVER AN HOUR to make sure she personally gave my doctor a proper update on my finger. On top of Sharon truly caring about her patients, she was able to work miracles on my finger. After surgery, I was barely able to move my finger at all. Sharon worked with me twice a week, on top of giving me specific exercises to do at home. At one point during rehab, I was going on a family vacation and I was going out of the country for 2 weeks. To make up for lost rehab time, Sharon gave me a specific list of exercises I could do while on the plane and while traveling. My finger saw drastic improvement over my time rehabbing at Wave Hand Therapy, and I am so grateful for everything Sharon did. Rehab can be a brutal process, but Sharon was able to turn it into a fun experience. I looked forward to my rehab sessions, as they were always filled with engaging stories and jokes. I have been seeing Josh, a certified a hand therapist, before and after bilateral carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel surgeries. I've never seen an OT or a PT with so much knowledge and understanding of how the human body works. From the start, he listened intently, treated the pain, and aimed to completely restore the function of my hands, wrists, and elbows.
