Jennifer helped me go from hobbling and barely able to walk from a patellar subluxation in late May, to hiking 72 miles with a 40+lb pack!
    Kate T.

I've been a loyal customer of Innovative Physical Therapy for over a year now (joy of joys...). I'm sure they're pretty sick of me by now ;P I started seeing Lindy for my TMJ problems last January. She is a wizard. So skilled and knowledgeable about anatomy and the connection between the different parts of the body. With Lindy's manipulation, her advice on the what-not-to-dos and workplace ergonomics, the guidance for jaw/neck/back/pec exercises, and modalities, I significantly reduced my jaw issues. I can eat big sandwiches without my jaw dislocating! I don't get headaches. My shoulders aren't ridiculously lopsided like they used to be. Inevitably every few months I don't keep up with my exercises and stretching like I'm supposed to (and because I'm always stressed and slouching), and Lindy fixes my jaw alignment back again and checks if my mouthguard is working like it's supposed to. I had a patellar subluxation in May when rock climbing thanks to a muscle imbalance from a similar injury in high school. I saw Jen this summer and she wow'd me by her knowledge of taping and patellar tracking. The physical therapists I saw when traveling for work didn't even know how to tape my knee... just said to strengthen my quad. With Jen's guidance on McConnell taping and how to ease back into activity, hands-on strengthening, modalities, and the intense exercises at Innovative and the takehome exercises, I went from being hardly able to walk to hiking again. I hiked the High Sierra Trail in early September- 72 miles up and down some steep terrain from Sequoia National Park over to Mount Whitney. I had a 40+ pound pack. Crossing logs over a sketchy river...? No problem after all those balance exercises at Innovative. Rock scrambling up the ridge to Mount Whitney? No problem after all those step exercises and power tower and squats. Innovative is different from other PT offices I've been to. The therapists know personally what's up (Lindy has had her own TMJ issues, and Jen once had a patellar subluxation from swimming breaststroke). They are TOTAL NERDS about anatomy, in the best way. (Lindy went to a conference in Chile(!!!) to learn from PTs who work directly with orthodontists there for TMJ). You get really solid hands-on treatment every appointment- whether it's getting your face painfully prodded for TMJ or applying hands-on resistance and massage to the legs for knee problems. And they don't just send you home! You get the fuuuuull workout with help from aides. You could go home early and just do your at-home exercises, but why wouldn't you make the most of all the machines and therabands and balance contraptions? The full set of knee exercises often went up to 2 hours for me with all the reps- I really get my money's worth out of my copay! And they let me use the equipment for the other troublesome body part while I'm there too. And you get modalities (for TMJ, a wonderful spa-like heat and stim :) ice and stim for my knee) at the end of every appointment if they think it's appropriate. Since they expanded their office, Innovative now has really fun small group exercise classes run by Katie and Rachel (which is amazing, because Rachel is the most bubbly and joyous person I've ever met and always made me feel a little brighter when struggling through the toughest parts of my treatment). It is really amazing to have structure to keep active, keep up with exercises, and do a group exercise class with the confidence you're not going to reinjure yourself because it's run by trained professionals and you can always ask your physical therapist in the next room if a certain position or exercise is okay. I can't recommend Innovative Physical Therapy enough. Extremely skilled, knowledgeable, and friendly staff who will get you active and healthy again :)

Fitness class swag! See my review for why I love IPT!

I'm very grateful to have exceptional care at the Knotstop with Itzel and Ryan! Pro tip, treat yourself to the membership. I get the 90 minute massage deal for $135 for deep tissue, you can't beat it! Also, for a more chill experience, check out when you check in! That way you don't have to go to the front desk twice. I square up at the front desk when I check in, that way, I don't have to go back after my massage and deal with any details. I always tip my Massage Therapist in cash after the appointment.

The business area was very welcoming, spacious and airy. Upon entry, I was greeted and taken to the room. My masseuse name is Amy. She was great! She listened to what my body needed, I like light massages with a little firm pressure points. She was very professional and gentle. I will definitely go to Amy for all of my future massages. Overall, very clean space. Great hygiene practice from the staff. They are friendly. Restroom for customers use. Tip: they match Groupon prices if paid in cash!

It made me feel like I was trying to breathe through a mask and was distracting. The massage pressure was decent. When she laid the hot stones on my back they were really hot to the point that I almost asked for them to be removed because I was scared of getting burned but figured that I was being paranoid. I looked at my back that night and I had two large red marks on my back. Luckily the marks disappeared in the morning but not sure if I trust this place when it comes to using hot stones They do have a small parking lot in the front but make sure to park in their spaces which are the ones located right near Blue Water. The massage parlor is located on the 2nd floor If you want a cheap no thrills massage then consider this place but just be weary of the hot stones.

I visited Karma this past Monday with a friend after stumbling across it on TikTok, and I'm so glad…read moreI did! It looked like such a cool, unique place, and it was only a few minutes from my apartment. I loved it so much that I brought a friend back today for another massage, and he was very impressed by how great his massage was. Parking is street parking, so it can be a little tough to find a spot. However, there is a paid parking lot directly across from the spa, which is a convenient option. We each booked a 60-minute deep tissue massage. One thing I really loved is that after your service, you can pay an additional $50 per person to enjoy all of the amenities. If you don't book a service, the day pass is $100. From the moment you arrive, the experience feels different. They take your shoes and give you slippers to wear throughout the spa. They also give you a top and shorts to put on. You have a key to a locker that you wear on your wrist. It's super convenient where you just tap it against the lock. There's a heated wooden floor and a cozy lounge area upstairs, and they serve what might be the best tea I've ever had. I definitely lost count of how many cups I drank! The massages are downstairs, while all of the amenities and different wellness rooms are upstairs. Since it was our first visit, we did the "first-time focus" wellness journey, which allowed us to experience each room. They have two different formats for the curated wellness journey, one for visual learners and one that is written. I thought this was such a cool concept. It even tells you how long you should spend in each room, and each room has information explaining the physical, mental, and emotional benefits. There's also a guided wellness experience you can participate in. *Forest Room: This room is adorable. You choose a stone that you feel drawn to, and it guides you through focusing on an intention. *Cold Room: Unfortunately, this room wasn't as cold as it should have been. We were told it should drop to around 60°, but we arrived around 11 AM and by 1 PM it was still around 68°. The room itself is super cute and has a cloud-like atmosphere though. *Himalayan Salt Room: This was probably one of my favorites because it really helped my sinuses. There's also a massage chair where you can relax while enjoying the room. *Red Light Room: They provide protective glasses for your eyes, and there's a bin where you place them afterward so they can be cleaned and reused. There are also Mugwort and Mud Rooms, and I loved that the rooms have hourglasses with different time increments. It's such a simple detail, but it encourages you to put your phone away, stop checking the time, and actually be present. There's also a snack area stocked with individual packets of Asian snacks, Chex Mix, nuts, and lemon water. The dressing room area is also really nice. They have showers with multiple showerheads, which made for a very relaxing shower after the spa experience. They provide body wash, shampoo, and conditioner along with toothbrushes, blow dryers, deodorant, and pretty much everything you need to get ready afterward. Another really unique feature is the intention wall. You can write something you want to manifest and post it on the wall. At the end of the month, they take the intentions down and hold a little ceremony of sorts to help manifest them. I thought that was such a beautiful touch. And the deep tissue massage was absolutely phenomenal. My therapist used great pressure and really focused on pressure points, leaving me feeling incredibly relaxed afterward. Overall, Karma was an incredible experience and such a perfect reset. From the thoughtful wellness journey and unique rooms to the amazing massage, tea, snacks, and relaxing atmosphere. There are so many little details that make this place special.
