Referred for physical therapy I made a change from the Hillcrest location where I had been treated previously to Mission Valley. Reasons? The Mission Valley location is within my line-of-travel and free parking at the site. The Hillcrest location bustles with hospital traffic and parking is metered or garage. From the first call, this location and their staff exhibited professionalism. Scheduling was easy. The PT Roshan John really worked well for me. Along with the exercises, my doctor had ordered traction. I just couldn't get myself to accept a machine traction device. I was scheduled 10 sessions, twice a week to get aid with my spinal injury. Everytime I show up for my appointment I'm greeted with a friendly smile and I wait no more than 2-3 minutes before getting started. My therapist was Dominic and from day one I could tell he was going to do his best to help Me out. I could see and feel improvement after every session because he took the time to find the best exercises for me and my condition so that there was progress with minimal pain. Nexus physical therapy has been an all around pleasurable experience. From the friendly receptionist to the knowledgeable therapist and staff. My knee pain was addressed and cared for by Roshan, this guy is awesome! We laughed, talked, and had a good time while I performed the required movements. I learned how to exercise my quad and leg to provide stability to my knee. How to use K-tape, how to properly ice my knee, and what I needed to maintain moving forward. I am a runner, I have been having trouble with my IT band, went to several doctors who just told me to stay off it or gave me meds. I came to Health Point and Adam (one of the PT's) gave me some great exercises and rehabilitated me on about 2 weeks and I was still about to run the Rock and Roll Marathon. First off I don't know who would rate this place other than 5 because they are very cognizant or patient care. They follow strict doctors orders. I've been to multiple centers and have more than 20 years experience. I was fortunate to meet the owner and really liked his approach to rehab and overall philosophy. He believes in Team approach and manual physical therapy. I had gone to another PT that has multiple locations and they actually made my shoulder worse and now I have to have another surgery as they caused 3 tears in it when before I had partial tear. With the help of Nexus I had minimal pain post operatively for my hip. Had complete range of motion 2 days post operatively and now 2 weeks after surgery my doctor so impressed with my care he says I don't need my brace or have to use crutches or walker and that I can be completely weight bearing. Keep up the great work Nexus. May everyone who wants and need effective rehab find you and all of your locations!!!! read more

I came to Health Point several weeks ago with severe pain in both of my wrists and forearms - due to working as a server and cocktail waitress and carrying trays and plates that were super heavy. During my first few visits to Adam, he discovered that the nerves in my neck had also become effected by my work. I was super impressed by his ability to pinpoint and treat the exact area that needed help! With a combination of stretching exercises, heating and cooling therapy, laser and ultrasounds therapy, and some pretty uncomfortable traction sessions, I feel that I am on the road to recovery! The other members of the staff, Sarah and Gabby, help me above and beyond the call of duty, which I genuinely appreciate! Adam also started Empower Wellness - which is a sort of non-gym, where a nutritionist consults you, and a combination of yoga and personal training on a one-on-one basis is offered. I'm not a fan of big corporate gyms, so I am sure that I will be checking it out soon! read more

I went to see Roshan for hip pain and pelvic floor issues related to pregnancy/child birth. Roshan was amazing. Not only was he friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and professional, he was also very skilled, and a wizard with his hands. Their p/t Dominick, was very welcoming & worked out a therapy program to get me back to my regular daily active life. He's very knowledgeable & makes even the most dreaded workout fun. If you are an athlete Health Point Physical Therapy is the place to go. I've been struggling with an achilles injury for more than a year. I've been to 4 other physical therapists, an orthopedic surgeon, and a chiropractor and nothing was helping the injury heal. I was about to start an expensive procedure when I met Adam from Health Point. He said that he could help find the root of the problem and focus on healing that to alleviate the pain. I was skeptical at first since I had been so many specialist and I'm so happy now that I decided to give Adam and Health Point a try. With only a few therapy session the pain was gone and I was able to run and start playing sports again! I had my life back and it only took a few short weeks. I had hurt my shoulder two months prior to my visit to Health Point, but I still needed to work out, but doing so was re-aggravating my injury. The soonest appointment I could make with my doctor was one month in the future, so I called HealthPoint after seeing some of the reviews, and asked if someone could just let me know what was wrong with my shoulder. Adam agreed to evaluate my shoulder the next day, and I am so glad I made that call. His diagnosis was stated to me clearly, and his exercise advice was explained throughly. He's a pretty funny, relaxed person so I was able to relax, and once I was able to see my doctor to get a recommendation the pain began subsiding when working out. The time spent was always quality, and it felt like he was there to not only help fix the issue with my shoulder, but to also strengthen it with time. read more

Extremely pleased that I found Roshan and his great staff. I moved from Seattle and was spoiled by my PT there. Now I am being treated in San Diego and am a happy, healing patient. I could barely walk for about 4 months with knee pain. My Sports Medicine doctor referred me to Nexus and I found the Mission Valley office that is close to home and Roshan. He is calming, supportive and his has healing hands. After 10 or so visits, I can walk with little or no pain and yes, I need to do my exercises. Also, the staff is great! Was sent here via my workplace to work on Tendonitis and Carpal Tunnel in both wrists and arms. Have had 6 sessions so far and have 6 more scheduled for the next 2 weeks. After just 2 visits I felt right at home. It is very important to feel comfortable in times of stress and these guys do a fantastic job of that. Very thankful for all the employees here, from the PT's, to the assistants to the secretary. All are wonderful people and are making my road to recovery so much easier. I came to Health Point after suffering a severe ankle sprain. Being a runner, I was worried about my recovery and re-injuring myself. Adam was awesome--he got the extreme swelling out of my ankle, gave me tons of strengthening exercises, used laser therapy, explained things in a way that was easy to understand, and made me feel confident that I would not only get back to normal...but be even better than I was before! Dominick at the Mission Hills location is knowledgeable, professional and extremely skilled. I was in severe pain and had restricted range of motion following rotator cuff surgery. Dominick was able to work on my shoulder and start me on an exercise program that greatly decreased the pain pretty rapidly. We have been working on stretching and strengthening that shoulder for four months now and it is so much improved - honestly, I wasn't sure it would ever be this good. Dominick has continually evaluated my progress and changes my exercises as needed to continue to make improvements. He is very safety conscious - checking on pain levels frequently, making sure all the exercises are done correctly. The whole team that works with Dominick is great. The PT assistants vary but Omar has been great in assisting with the exercises. Jasmine is at the front desk and always greets you warmly and makes sure your appointments are scheduled. I highly recommend the team at Nexus Physical therapy in Mission Valley. If I need PT in the future this will be my first choice! read more
