Horrible nightmare of an experience trying to move with them. I thought my request was simple. I would like to cancel service at one address and start service at another address. The person on the phone was nice enough and we agreed on a little overlap. Their system required creating a new account for the new address. When they went to close my account they stopped my auto pay and then racked me up with tons of late fees. They did manage to set up internet at my new address, but they will not stop charging me for the old address. And now their customer service is impossible to get ahold of. Their phone system keeps saying "up to 20 mins wait" but i have sat at my desk with their horrible phone music for multiple hours. All while they are going to town with my credit card on file just racking up charges for internet at a address I do not live at nor have access too. If you have the option of choosing any other provided, take literally anyone else. read more

Avoid WAVE at any cost, when a company starts by saying that your time on hold is more than 20 minutes everytime you call support, then they suck, it doesn't matter how good their internet is, over the course of last year, I spend more than 40 minutes of my life on hold with them everytime I called. I went to their Seattle office on Rainier Ave, they said that they are aware of the problem... So why don't they fix it then?? I don't want to keep these imbeciles, but there doesn't seem to be an alternative. I own a vacation rental and promise my guests they will have tv, internet and phone when they stay here. The guests almost never get TV on a consistent basis, and usually lose the entire package every other month or so. We have had so many service appts. and they always say it's totally fixed now... before it dies the next week. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR color me frustrated and sick of this sh*t. Absolutely livid and abhorred by the terrible customer service we've had with Wave! We switched over to Wave after we moved to our area as it was the most popular cable/internet service. We first had someone come to our house to survey getting internet installed since there hadn't been service set up before. Turns out that there had been service already set up, and the guy that came to our house was just a skeezy salesman. I only needed a good internet plan but the salesman talked me into a bundled promo plan with a rate that I was agreeable with. Needless to say, when I got my first bill in the mail, it was double the price that the salesman promised. Since that first experience a year and a half ago, I've called in more times that I can count to dispute charges on my bills. I've updated my service plan at least 3x but there is always something extraneous that finds its way to my bill and jacks up my monthly rate. These are usually things that the last customer service representative had either lied about or "forgot to mention". In July 2018, I changed my service to a bundled plan (internet and basic cable channels) with a rate that I was really happy with, and the rep even threw in a STARZ subscription because of the terrible service I had previously. The CS rep had NOT mentioned that they were making changes to an existing promo plan I was still on from April 2018. I was pretty surprised to see that my bill was OVER TRIPLE the amount it was supposed to be this month because the initial promo had ended. When I spoke to a rep today and explained the situation, they switched me over to an internet only plan (which is more expensive than what I was paying) and offered no apologies or incentives to ease the situation. I've never dealt with a more deceitful cable/internet company and am currently looking into other options for internet service. Please do better, Wave! read more

I have never had a worse new construction install experience in my life. I have been in a new development since December 2019, the development was new as of early 2019, and was informed by the builder that wave was contracted and paid to run wiring with install being early January/February. Here it is July with zero internet or TV, although not concerned about the latter. We conference call on a weekly basis with a project manager named Gary who continually updates us on the bad news that various things are preventing them from completing a timely install. Permitting, truck availability, etc are the usual culprits for why they cant get stuff done. There is zero coordination between departments at wave and I don't think anyone has the ability to communicate among between themselves. Frustrated is an understatement and the fact Wave was given some $300,000 by the builder yet cant produce results is just mind boggling. Someone should teach them how customer service important in any business. I am customer from last 2 years and now having pain to disconnect service, I wish I could just tell my bank to stop payment and let it be. We have been a WAVE customer for 5 years. The service has always been (just) acceptable regarding the connection reliability, cost for programming and support. Recently we have had issues with the TV cable connection and performed the disconnection of cable box and line to the TV. This did not resolve the issue. I called at 7:23 pm on Sunday June, 9th 2019 to seek further help. After several annoying promps, by an android, I was placed on hold for Technical Support for 55:15 minute. This has to be one of the poorest run companies in America! The customer service is dismal at best. When you call tech support, and it will be often, prepare for average 40 minute hold time, with little or no results. Then they schedule a tech to come out generally in 3-4 days, but the bill is there every month, no interruptions! I switched from Dish to Wave last month. Four service calls in the first week, so called new equipment was replaced, haha. Kept getting error messages on the screen, two different techs came out but they couldn't fix it, they blamed my receiver. Called Samsung TV and they fixed Wave's wifi over the phone in a 10 minute call. Now I have audio and no picture, just a grey screen. Guess what 3-4 days before a tech can come out. Where do I begin with WAVE? The worst customer service on the planet. After trying to get them to come out multiple times to our condo, they kept failing to do so and straight up lied to me. They claimed I didn't answer my door and that they "knocked a bunch" HA! I have a gate to my courtyard area and you can't get to the door unless you're buzzed in. I put in my online order to install wave in my new apartment which shouldn't have been an issue since the website and the customer service chat person said our location was serviceable. They emailed and asked for a copy of my lease and ID so I sent that in the same day. Then we waited around all day on Saturday for them to show up. Nothing. So we called customer service and spoke to Becca, who told me I have an invalid order number and that they canceled my order without telling me. Spewed some lines about having to move forward and that she would get back to me to reschedule in the next two days. Nothing. So I called her and she couldn't find my address because "I'm too on top of it I already filed you away"...uh ok where's my internet? She then told me it would take up to 2 weeks to turn on my internet even though they just need to flip a switch because she saw there are other customers at our complex but our unit was not found. If don't hear back In 2 weeks to call her back. UNACCEPTABLE, but she refused to escalate my call. Then my husband called to try and speak with somebody else. This new person said they can't service our apartment and that no other customers lived there. Even though we verified 3 times that we could. Husband got escalated quickly. Supervisor Joany now says they can't service us and that she doesn't know why everybody said they could or why nobody called to tell us they canceled our order. Or why the website says we are serviceable and allowed us to order, Or why we would have had to wait 2weeks or why Becca wouldn't allow me to escalate my call. So we spent a week trying to get service and being told we could get it no problem and sent in personal info only for them to cancel it without letting us know, then told to put in a new order, then give us the run around and not know whether or not they can service us. I'm still confused about it and apparently so are they. I just want internet, and really didn't want to go with Comcast but this incompetent company is giving me no choice... it's been THAT bad dealing with them. Save yourself the time and stress. May 4th, A technician was scheduled between 8am - 12pm, to install internet in my home. After waiting 4 hours, the technician never arrived. I called customer support, and was told because I didn't pick up a service call, the technician didn't show up. The agent on the phone, also told me that the job was marked "done". By the way, job was never completed, not even attempted. So I rescheduled for someone to come out the following day between 8am and 12pm. I actually confirmed the appointment the night before and I also called customer support at around 10am day of to make sure a technician would arrive. The agent told me that, a technician was still scheduled to show up at my address. Sadly I waste another 4 hours waiting for a "technician" to arrive but no show, no call. I contact support, and was told my job was "cancelled". Now I am infuriated. I ask why the job was cancelled, and she puts me on hold. When she comes back she said that there was an "error". She asked if I received a call, I said no. She said that there were notes saying "no one was home". I asked her why did this occur, what is going on? I explained to her Ive wasted two consecutive mornings waiting for a technician to arrive and no one has shown up but rather, lied on their reasoning for not doing so. She said she didn't know why and asked me if I wanted to reschedule. LMAO! I obviously didn't reschedule. I am now trying to contact someone with answers and solutions within the company. They say technician is running behind and will call when on their way. 2:40pm an automated message tells me technician OTW. 3:20pm no technician. I call Wave. Automated voice says technician is HERE. Technician is not here. Wave says they will call dispatch and have them call ME. I receive no call. I call wave at 3:50pm. Automated voice says TECHNICIAN HAS COMPLETED SERVICE. I tell Wave nope, technician didn't even arrive. Wave tells me technician tried to contact me. No calls on my phone the entire 4 hours. "Guaranteed arrival between 12pm and 2pm" they say. Technician is AWOL. Wave says the SOONEST they can do is 4 days later after this mishap. No priority. I need service by Monday! I work from home! So I cancel service. 4 hours. No technician. No communication. You run a business this way? This company is awful. Incompetence all around. Outages all the time. Go with somebody else if you can. If you can't, insist that another company begins servicing your area. 0 out of 5 stars. I used Wave for internet service. The internet service was fine but their customer service is probably some of the worst I've ever experienced with a company. If you have to move locations or eventually cancel service you have to call their customer service directly to do so. They do not answer their phones. They seem to have no staff on call for providing these service requests. I've wasted endless time waiting on the phone and tried for almost a month now trying to cancel my service. It's still not even cancelled but have removed my credit card and will not pay them a single cent more. They just increased the rate by $1.97 without any notice. I had auto-pay enabled and they just took more money out of it without asking me or notifying me. My internet is horrible, they came out a few weeks ago and said the old modem was the problem and they were 100% wrong with the new modem I still have the same slow trash loading buffering problem. Just moved to the Redmond area and decided on Wave as my ISP, big mistake. I've never been so frustrated with an ISP before. I haven't even had Wave for 30 days yet and there have already been two outages, one recently for 72 hours with no credit to my account, and currently going through one now (11/9/2021) with the automated system that will probably keep pushing back the ETA for services to be restored 2 hours at a time. Inconsistent service. Provides internet speeds that aim to compete with dial-up instead of something in the modern age assuming the connection can stay up for more than an hour if you're lucky. The prices still resemble something from 2022 though which is very amusing. We've been with them for a few years only because they're the only provider in our area. Also with the way they handle billing and customer calls, assuming you can even get through, you'd think they were a company that got off the ground just a week ago. WAVE SUCKS. Do not go through this company for internet unless you want a year of headaches, long hold times, and shitty service. I have had internet for about a year and in this year have had nothing but issues. First, they were charging me for 5G internet for 3+ months without even supplying the service. During this time I was running speed tests and reporting them to the company and they recommended restarting the router or moving closer to the router... Finally they realized their mistake and didn't even compensate me for the months of over charging me. Then they finally replace my router and it breaks in a month. I didn't have internet for 5 days because they couldn't get a technician out, once they did he was CREEPY (I am a 26 year old woman and live alone) and he was saying things like he lives 5 minutes away from me and he's free after this. Once he finally left, the internet only worked for an hour before it went out again. He left the door off of the wifi source in my apartment with wires hanging out. I still am without internet which is a HUGE inconvenience as I work from home... and they can't come back until tomorrow afternoon. Don't worry though!! They comped me $5 so it's fine, right? Been a customer for 4 years now, initially with Broadstripe. I was delighted at the effort expended by the Broadstripe installation team; quality work, and they had to make some dedicated improvements to get service installed. So this keeps them from being '1 star'. Internet service has been spotty - some days it works great, but about 30% of the time its very slow (i.e. roughly dialup speed ~56kbps), and we probably have complete outage of 1-2day/mo. The so-called Wave 'digital upgrade' added more pay channels; and degraded internet and TV service. HD service suffers frequently from digital artifacts (blocking, occasional freezing). The DVR is a DOG when recording HD - had several recordings just come up as blanks (very irritating when you were counting on seeing the finale of SOA!) Price creep is going on, I'm up to $135/mo for internet/cable from the initial $110 or so. Their equipment fails whenever the power fails - so even if YOU have a generator, THEY dont - so since we suffer frequent power outages in the stormy season this is very inconvenient. Note that DSL from the phone company and satellite cable will continue to work if you have a generator. We have started demanding service credits when we have our frequent outages, they wont automatically do this. Like others commented, I spew my coffee every time I endure their 'great reliability' and 'superior service' commercials. read more

Until I was able to get out from under the past due pile, they were disconnecting me more often than they've ever done it in the past. And more than I've ever been shut off before (once.) I had a choice between Wave and Century Link available. I searched them both, and both had 1.5 stars. (OK, I had to compare with my old ISP -- Comcast -- and they only had 1 star. Surprise :-/ ) Anyway, I chose Wave because it's a local (Bellevue-based) company. I'm here to say I am a total convert! Their sales person was knowledgeable and bent over backwards to let me know what was up. He scheduled a tech within a week to come set up my system. And then, the sales person *made a house call* to help me troubleshoot a couple of issues I had. On top of the prompt and professional set-up of my service, my internet/WiFi/etc. have all performed at top notch. I absolutely think Wave is a 5-star company -- except I had to subtract a star because of their customer service helpline, which is, frankly, dreadful -- but so is everyone else's. I am an internet only user. Internet speed is fine. But expect to wait 40 minutes or more to speak to someone for billing or support. I was on a 1 year promotion plan - but they still raised my price by 7% within the 1st year, saying my 'discount was valid for 1 year, but our price has increased'. This does not seem ethical to me. We've had issues with the connection dropping since day 1. We called to have it fixed, and a tech came out a week later and told us that it was almost certainly due to our modem and computers - and that we should update our equipment. We did, and $500 in upgrades later ... same exact issue persists. The internet will drop many time throughout the day, especially at peak times at night. We called back, and they sent another tech person out. He confirmed, "this is definitely an issue on our (Wave G's) end" ... but he couldn't fix it, and we were told to make another appointment to have another tech come out. They could not guarantee a "senior tech" because they "had not been out 3 times yet." A strange policy, but ok, I will cooperate. The third tech came out, found the same issue on Wave G's end, but he too could not fix it. Each time, after calling customer service to ask about next steps in getting things fixed, they said they would "forward the issue to the local representative," and that person would be contacting me within 24-48 hours. I have had this promised 3 times, over 3-4 weeks, and have never once received a call. I call each time after 3-4 days, and they tell me the same: "ok, we'll forward this to the local rep..." and nothing happens. At this point I just want to receive credit for the months that I have been paying for a service that I am not getting. All I get is the run-around. Moral of the story: believe all of the posts you read here about internet connection constantly dropping. It makes it impossible to watch any streaming content with consistency, and ruins any live sporting event you will every try to watch. Bad product. Intentionally deceptive customer service. And a whole lot of frustration. Avoid these folks. read more

This is the most unreliable Internet provider I have ever experienced. I've had everything from 14.4k modems to DSL to fiber and this takes the cake. I live within 10 miles of 2 of the 3 biggest tech companies in the world and have never had a stretch of reliable service for more than 2 months. Since there are no other options, I've been a customer since Broadstripe (11 years). The sad thing is that they do not have any redeeming qualities. After years of suffering with 20mbps Century Link DSL, and after years of reading the NIGHTMARE reviews about Wave Broadband on yelp and at the BBB, I just couldn't take 20mbps DSL internet anymore and decided the other day to give Wave Broadband a try, despite the extreme buyer beware warnings. First, I placed an order for internet on the Wave Broadband website, and received a confirmation email that said another followup email would arrive in a day. NOTHING ARRIVED!! Three days later, today, I telephoned the Wave toll free phone number. First the service person told me that the order placed online could not be searched for with the order number! What in the world? Why issue an order number that customer service cannot later find? What kind of incompetent business process is that? The customer service person then asked to use the address to look up the order. Not long into the conversation after that, the phone customer service person said I used to have service with them 18 years ago, and that I had unpaid balance from 18 years ago of something like $700.00? How in the world could a balance for internet service that costs $39.99 a month on promotion and $79.99 a month thereafter, ever even get to a preposterous $700.00? Such a notion doesn't pass a sanity test or a "smell test" for that matter. I denied Wave's accusation, as put forth, oddly, by the "customer service" person. Seriously, did they want my business or not? I pointed out to the phone person that Century link has been getting $60.00 a month from for at least the last decade, amounting to $7,200.00 over the course of that decade. What sort of business is rude like this to a potential customer worth $7,200.00 over the course of ten years? What corruption enables these businesses to exist and operate like this? After a lot of going round and round, and after the service person accused me of being "combative", I asked if Wave wanted to provide me with service or not. After some waiting and being put on hold, they gave me the OK, but also told me their credit collections department might get in contact with me. I responded with the fact that I denied their allegation, noted the "statute of limitations" in any event, and noted that I am experienced superior court litigator. I told the service person that I would enjoy dealing with their credit and legal department, because I'm an experienced legal expert who enjoys litigation, or even the potential of it. So, my first impression with Wave Broadband, is that I have voluntarily agreed to make a deal with an extremely evil known devil. Thus far, my impression is that I should expect a nightmare, especially based on the contents of: a) no response from my initial online order; and b) the contents of my initial phone conversation with them, before even getting the internet service hooked up. Imagine that! Check back here for reports on what, if anything Wave Broadband tries to do about its false and preposterous accusation/claim of owing them $700.00 from 18 years ago. Imagine their attorneys trying to convince a judge that they have any valid claim to money from an accusation for something they claim occurred 18 years ago! Imagine that! Also, since they announced upon my phoning them that they audio record customer conversations with them, I audio recorded the telephone conversation described above as well, which is lawful in WA pursuant to WA statute RCW 9.73.030. It is amazing to have audio recordings of astonishing interactions with corporations like this one for posterity, just in case someone might not believe these sorts of interactions actually transpire. What kind of company operates this? If there were 0 stars that is how I would rate this company. How in the world do they even stay in business?? My reviews of the past 2 years haven't changed because their level of customer service hasn't. Latest was needing a new remote control. No, I am not going to go buy a new one when it is 'suppose' to come with the modem and service. And since WAVE ONLY has 3 'near me' customer walk-in locations, I am not going to be driving 2 hours north nor do I want to partake in a 4 hour trip via a ferry to another office. Oh, and btw, their 'service techs' supposedly do not have spare remotes in their service vehicles - huh????? July 6, 2020 placed call to supposedly 'Customer Service'. On hold for 80 minutes at 8:00am. After explaining need, CR rep "Matt" said that a new remote would be sent out and to be received in 5 business days. July 14th - Still no remote. Called "Customer Service" again at 8:15am - on hold for 65 minutes. CR rep "Eric" (in upstate NY) indicated that apparently the new remote "must have been lost in the mail" and was going to send out a new remote - to be received in 7 business days. July 27th - Still no remote. Called "Customer Service" yet again at 1:45pm. After 35 minute on-hold, CR rep 'Adam' (NY) spent considerable time trying to find my original request and told me that he could not find such a request, and that there was absolutely NO order in the system for a new remote. None. Zero. Although he DID see the previously calls. And so, the entire process was started all over again and a new request was submitted. Fortunately, 'Adam' was true to his word and a new remote FINALLY showed up 4 days later. Once again, HOW in the heck does this company stay in business? And do they REALLY think that their 'customers' (who in many cases, do not have a choice as to what service provider they can subscribe to) have no lives and can sit on hold for extended periods of time or drive hours to a walk in office?? What is wrong with this company that years later it can't seem to get its act together? I'm on hold for the 5th time in 8 weeks to request a universal converter remote that isn't working. The people are really nice but totally clueless. We have to show them what page to go to to find this model. Apparently, first two agents just didn't complete the order to send a new remote. Third one sent NOTHING. Fourth one that we had to guide through the process to find this remote SENT THE WRONG ONE. It doesn't work on any tv. Asked if I could make the 1 hour drive to the closest Wave office I was told they don't have equipment there. Now I have been paying for a box I can't use because there is no damn remote for over two months. All it is is a Universal Converter Remote control HD-DTA. Simple right? apparently not. read more

If I could give them a zero star review I would , they sent an account I closed to collections, when I called them about it they said I never returned the equipment , then miraculously they seen I returned the equipment, then they said I never canceled services but yet I returned the equipment, they then transferred me to the collections agency and said I would need to dispute it with the collections agency. I then asked if they made a mistake but stated they didn't even though they had my equipment and I cancelled months before they said they turned my services off for non payment. TERRIBLE SERVICE I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM, YHEY WILL SEND YOU TO COLLECTIONS EVEN THOUGH YOU CANCELLED SERVICES!!! STAY AWAY! read more

I generally had good service with the cable portion, but internet would drop off frequently. I'd call the tech suppport and for ages I would get a rep who would tell me that my router was outdated and the problem, and it wasn't working. So the service problem was on my end, not theirs. Yet I bought the router I did after several calls to customer service, asking what I should buy to be compatible with their service. And every time they said it was my bad equipment that was the issue, magically, my service would restore on its own within a day & not by going out to buy the better router that wasn't a piece of junk & the problem. So looks to me like the issue was 100% on their end, not mine. I found a less expensive plan with a different carrier. And while I was waiting to have that set up, my bill on Wave came due. No problem I thought, I'll be refunded for the part of the month my service went through, that I no longer got their service. Wrong. My bill, which Wave bills for service in advance, was only 2 days into the billing cycle when I called to cancel. They cut it off immediately. So basically I had 1.5 days of service. My bill was $135.44. And when I went in to return their VCR, turns out I am only to get $38.37 refunded. Basically they found a way to charge $97 for less than 2 days service. Had I known what a scam they would pull, I would have just cancelled & done without internet & cable for that brief length of time. So beware. If you cancel, don't expect to get any sort of refund. Look how bad they dinged me with just 1 or 2 days into the service period. read more

I'd honestly never used a internet service provider that would go down for days at times. Living in Seattle. For the past couple of months, Wave has had outages that would last for 2-3 days, and during which we had to rely on our cellular data. I thought they are a better alternative than Comcast or CenturyLink boy was I wrong. I'd rather eat a soy sauce dipped banana and then dive into a frozen pile of rotten eggs than using Wave again. read more

Terrible terrible customer service..the internet was not working past 10 days and the customer service was lying to us all along. After a week of delay, the tech was scheduled and the field engineer admitted their network issue and no fix.. So disappointed..The customer service still insist no fault in their network..Very ignorant and rude..at least they should be honest about their problem.. Redmond area read more
