Dr Watts did not have one single session while I was in the hospital at ubh in Denton TX. I at first refused the sessions but twice I went to ask to speak with him and twice he denied the sessions. WORST OFFICE AND DOCTOR EVER DO NOT GO the doctor does not help or treat patients, the staff is difficult and unreliable. They charge you for things unnecessarily. The staff is rarely in the office or answering phones, but will blame you for not being able to communicate with them. read more

I have been seeking help for depression and anxiety; I called doctor Watts office after finding him on my provider list. The proceeded to do a very personal phone evaluation, which I played along with because I am desperate to get in somewhere, only to be told that it would take them a few days to check my insurance and see if Dr. Watts was "willing to see me" based on my phone evaluation. Received a phone call the next day being told that Dr. Watts would be "unavailable" to see me... clearly for some reason he was simply unwilling to treat me. They are listed as accepting new patients but turn away people who are seeking help. What kind of mental health professional turns away a patient based on a phone evaluation he didn't even conduct himself. The woman I spoke to was not very friendly and gave me no explanation as to why they could not see me and was completely unapologetic. I truly wish that I would have read these reviews before calling; the last thing I needed in the state of mind that I'm in was to be turned away without explanation. read more

The doctor will see you for 10 minutes, prescribe you medication the first visit, and then every time you see him after you see him for 5 minutes just to see if the medication is working! He has no regard to whatever problem you may have and his office staff is so rude and be sure to never miss an appointment because they're going to charge you for whatever reason whether you're a minute late or you had to cancel due to emergencies this doctor should lose his license and should not be allowed to practice. This guy is after your money. I'm not even sure he's a certified psych; he's definitely not qualified. I went in to see this guy for anxiety after a divorce, new job, and moving, all in the same summer. I paid $150 up front! Went in to talk to this guy and he diagnosis me with BIPOLAR in the first visit!! Prescribes me meds that make me feel horrible. I go get a second opinion because I was like, "you have to be kidding?". Other Psych after two visits tells me I'm healthy and to come back and talk things out, I don't need meds, and I only pay $20. Then I get a bill from good'ol Gary for another $85!! What the hell for; a misdiagnosis?!! I call his office asking what the #%$& they think they are doing and the receptionist gets nasty with me claiming I signed something saying I'd pay it if I CANCELED my appointment; which I did of course! I have no clue what she's talking about and tell her that it only proves what a crappy doctor he is if he has to charge for canceled appointments, which I'm sure he gets many, and I hung up. She couldn't produce the paperwork and I've gotten a bill every month for the last year and a half because I wont pay it. Makes me wonder why they don't send it to a credit agency..?? The young lady in the office is very nice, however the older woman in the office was the rudest health care worker I have ever had an experience with. The Dr. Is very unpersonable, did not listen to me and was unwilling to work with other Dr.s in my healthcare plan of action. The office staff is completely rude and unprofessional. Whether it is trying to set up a new appointment, changing an appointment, or trying to ask a question about billing - they are absolutely the most rude and disrespectful people I've ever dealt with in an medical office. My wife called to schedule the appointment and ask questions, and they refused to speak to her, even after I tried to give my permission to do so. Apparently, they scheduled a follow-up appointment three months after one of my visits. I never received a phone call to remind me about the appointment. I've now received a bill for a no-show appointment for $85. If you don't have the decency to call and remind me that there is an appointment, then you can not dare enforce a charge. I have been moving, and had so many other things going on - this doctor appointment completely left my brain. Not one person in this office is kind enough to listen or try to help take care of any problems or concerns of the patients. So, Disclaimer, I never actually SAW Dr. Watts. I was too freaked out by the intake process to actually get an appt. Now, for a psychiatrist, I realize they ask alot of personal questions. But thats the Dr.'s job, not the receptionists. The receptionist makes the appt. So here's my story, Dr. Watts was covered by my insurance provider, and I called them, wanting to make an appt. I have seen a psychiatrist before, and know how it works. So naturally, I was shocked when BEFORE they told me when the appt opening was, they started asking me all these SUPER personal questions... (how much do you drink, what is your social security number, have you ever been hospitalized for a mental illness, would you stop drinking if you were placed on a psychotropic drug...) It went on. I played along for a bit, probably too long, and then realized that this was NOT stuff the receptionist needed to know. I told her and she became belligerent. I told her i was only willing to give this information to this doctor, that i felt it to be private and confidential. She responded that it was part of the intake process and that I would have to tell her these things OVER THE PHONE if i was to schedule an appointment with Dr. Watts. To that I responded, "Then I will see someone else". And I am, I have scheduled an appointment with another doctor for July 23, and we will see how that works. I was charged $300 for *following* covid rules. Dr. Watts requires 3 days' notice in advance to cancel. I got a sore throat about 8 hours too late. On the afternoon of my scheduled appointment, my temperature was over 100 degrees. I didn't even consider showing up, knowing I was sick and contagious, in order to avoid a $300 charge. I expected taking that responsible action would be rewarded with my fee being waived. However, when I called, I was not allowed to speak with Dr. Watts. I was told I had to pay or be sent to collections. They did not offer any kind of payment plan. I am on disability due to mental illness and traumatic brain injury, and $300 is almost 1/3 of my monthly income. Reading other reviews, I see that mentally ill people have been taken advantage of by him in this way going back at least twelve years. Talking to a wall would accomplish more than this guy. Was prescribed a medication had cvs fax a refill request and he denied request. Nice of a doctor if you would call him that to subject a patient to have withdrawals of from something. If you have compassion for yourself or your loved one, do not seek this doctor's help. His method is to prescribe medication that doesn't work and hospitalize the patient in his private facility. In our case, as time progressed (2 weeks) instead of improvement, my loved one's mental deterioration was unbelievable. He had to release her because she fell while under his care and broke her hip. She finally received counseling and the correct medication from the hospital that provided her emergency surgery. I think money must be the motivator. This man should not be entrusted to care for anyone. read more

uuugh - if you can find a good review of this quack - youre reading his writing. this doctor needs mental help. i am no patient - i dropped off and picked up a patient of his as a favor - so, from someone thats just an innocent bystander "you have to be crazy to see this guy" sounds funny - but only someone thats desperate and mentally incapable would see this person - and continue to see this person. just an insurance mill - if you will notice - this doctor likes for you to come in - give him money - prescribe medicines so he can make more money from kickbacks - and if you dont fall in line and become another one of his sheep - he kicks you out of the office. the patient in the waiting room was there in complaint for "non compliance" and removal from the office - another patient was in the process of being scolded for 10 minutes for being 1 minute late (if you have 10 minutes to blow ....why not just hurry her into the office?) the patient i was there to deliver and return home left the office a complete wreck....after being very normal upon arrival. ....she found another doctor. i have met this doctor in a social setting...so patients....dont worry...its not you - this person has no social skills outside the office either. read more

My mother died, and I called to cancel and they still billed me for a no show. Then they sent it to a collection when I refused to pay. If you like to be screwed over he is your doctor. Totally dissatisfied with the whole office. Actually had an appt for 3:00 in the afternoon. When I arrived at 2:30 I was totally (and not very nicely) "you are late, you owe $300 for a "no show". They had my appt down for 2:00. They said 3:00 when I made the appt and I put it on my computer calendar as we spoke. They sent me papers that I never read because of my condition that, they said noted the 2:00 appt. I was suffering from clinical depression and really didn't care what was going on. I stood there trying to explain that I had 3:00 on my calendar and they closed the window in my face and ignored me. They then turned the $300 charge over to a collection agency. I'm not paying no $300 for not even seeing a doctor. After doing some research in Denton, TX, no psychiatrist charges for a "no show" unless the appointments are abused, and then it's not $300. I am writing to the Texas Department of Labor of this situation. read more
