Couple things for management 1). If the tubes are all the same and can be used all over, then why make it so difficult to get a tube? Certain tubes for certain areas is silly. 2). I just don't think it's worth the amount of money. People steal rafts from families that are sitting down for lunch. Food is over cooked. Admission cost is high for those who don't swim. I wish they had a different color wrist band for those parents that don't get in the water but basically sit and watch their kids all day. Maybe half the admission cost for them? They say there is a swim suit protocol also with no thongs or other showy suits and yet women were there with the bottoms pulled up their crack so high that it was pointless to even wear bottoms. Visited water works park on a Friday for the night time family event. $10 per person was a very good price. My problem with this place was I purchased a triple tube for my children and I to use for $8 and it turned out we couldn't even use it. It was not accepted on some of the slides or the lazy river. There was so many people we were only able to use 3 slides in the three hour night time, time frame. The lines were extremely long for everything and some slides were even shut down. Also. Some of the food vending was closed as well. We did enjoy our time, but it could have been better. read more

I had a terrible experience at this waterpark. I was waiting in line when someone nearby -- who wasn't even wearing a shirt -- spat. Somehow, the staff decided I was the one who did it, even though I was just standing there in a dark gray shirt, minding my own business. To make things worse, that same person threw a double inner tube off the top of the tower before ... yet I was the one kicked out of line even though the person right next to me that matched their description perfectly and threw the inner tube off was fine No investigation, no questions -- just "you're out" because I happened to be standing close by. Waterworks Park is an amazing waterpark and a definite fun place for kids and people in Redding to go when it's so hot. The workers and staff do the best they can to accommodate all the people. I feel like it's great that they hire so many young people for their first-time jobs. I think people need to quit expecting perfectionism everywhere they go. I love this place. I haven't had this much fun in years. Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the nicest people I've ever met in customer service, who made the beginning of our experience start with laughter and smiles that carried throughout our day at the Park. The rides and slides were soooo much fun. Our favorites were The Cyclone (which we learned everyone calls the toilet bowl), the Raging River, and the Avalanche. The crowd at the park was so friendly; we met another family with whom we ended up spending the day sliding with (they were so lovely, and I hope we keep in touch with them). It's NorCal, so it gets really hot in the sun all day, so thank god we had reserved a cabana online in advance when we bought our tickets. That was a real game changer having our own bit of shade (It was also nice to have a cabana server that allowed us to avoid going back and forth to order food (we all ate at different times). The food was great. Service was great. The overall experience was great! 10/10 we're definitely going back. read more

Wow! This place has amazing food and service! We went there on a hot busy Saturday, but never felt the lines were too long. Nice crunchy Corn Dogs, and the Dragon Burger hit the spot. They have a great selection of delicious ice cream if your sweet tooth needs some attention too. We loved the flume rides, dare you to hop on the Dragon tunnel and then take the extreme plunge down the Avalanche! We can't wait to go back! read more

Great value for a half day water park. We most enjoyed avalanche and the toilet bowl tube slides, and the dragon body slide. The not very large wave pool has surprisingly large waves - nice! The lazy river was so slow, we called it the laziest river (with minimal shade). To beat the summer crowds, go on a Tuesday if possible and regardless of when you go, arrive 15 minutes before opening for several hours of nearly walk on slides. We can't wait to return! read more

We bought season passes this year because my kids both love the water park. We went yesterday and rented a day bed. I have been renting a bed because it's guaranteed shade, but mostly because I want a place to lock up my wallet and phone. There was flooding around the day bed when we went yesterday, which caused us to be unable to use the lock box. The employees didn't care and no solution was offered. I wouldn't have rented it and wasted money had I known I wouldn't be able to lock up my stuff. The pools were also dirty, and I constantly got hair and band aids wrapped around my fingers. Gross. There was also a man in a tiny bikini froliking in the kids area under where the water dumps out of the buckets. I found this highly inappropriate especially for it being in the kid area! The food sucks, our fries were cold and greasy. Also, be careful of little kids in the wave pool because teenagers will literally run them over. read more

Visit was just OK. My family of four decided to cut our stay to the waterpark short because the water was so cold. This was on June 22, where the high temperature outside was 85°F. Do they purposely make it that cold to increase visitor turnover? Also seems like way too much space is dedicated to the exorbitantly priced cabanas and there's not enough space for free shaded tables. read more

The short version....This place is small, but so much fun. It is an older park, but very clean. The life guards also seem to pay attention to what people are doing. Kids have fun. The long version.....this place is quite a ways away from my residence of Sacramento area. Perhaps it is because of this reason that this place seems to be cleaner than the others which are closer to home. So why am I so far from home? It's because of a Girl Scout event. This is an annual event at WaterWorks at the close of summer. This place is the cleanest Water park I have been to. The water isn't murky, the bottoms of the pools don't have dirt. There are grassy areas and rocks around the park, but minimal dirt. Music plays in the background, and the smell of chlorine in the air, gives the water park feel. The park is older and as a result there are chairs here and there that are broken. But it seems the water slides are maintained pretty well because the slides that are up in the air have minimal leaks. Just a drop of water leaking . The plaster flooring has a few rust stains, but probably from old furniture that used to reside here. The snack shack has an array of typical snack items. They sell hot dogs, burgers, and chicken strips for something a bit more hearty. I got a chance to try their funnel fries and they were really tasty! A real treat in the evening. We are at the end of the season though so as a result, they didn't place a food order and had ran out of food items. But of the items they did have, it was yummy. As usual, the prices are expensive, as one would expect from a water park, that's nothing new. These guys have cabanas available for rent as well as loungers with an adjustable sun shade. This is the life, if you've got the cash! The prices are a bit high, but I don't know how the prices compare to other cabana rentals, but there are also areas where there is shade free of charge. I appreciated that the lifeguards actually enforce pool rules. They didn't just sit up in their little chairs and only look for drowning persons. These guys blew their whistles here and there for unruly behavior. I saw a girl lifting another up into the air while in a shallow wading spot and the lifeguard was on it! So why didn't I give 5 stars? They were quite good, however the lack of food items and the broken chairs gave them a ding in 1 star. I may come back again with my family. This place is phenomenal. Family friendly, great value for the price and awesome things for all ages of people to do. I don't particularly like water or water slides and I went on a few myself. I liked the Raging Rapids water slide and tubing was super fun. Get there early for parking, the lot is small and tends to fill up fast. We did stay in a cabana, Oasis #2; and the shade, picnic table and iced water in a five gallon container were a welcome addition to our experience. I didn't know you could bring hydroflasks or your own container for water, that would have been nice to know. We had a great cabana server, Jeff. I've had really good experiences here in the past but a recent trip ruined the park for me. My girlfriend and I had to save a kid in the wave pool from being sucked into the machine because the 2 young lifeguards weren't paying attention, we started watching this kid a whole minute before the lifeguards even knew what was going on. Then right after that happened one of your lifeguards jumped in and pretended to drown to "test" the 2 lifeguards in the wave pool. This scared both of us and countless parents and little kids, which caused the majority of the people in the pool to get out and leave the park. Went with the family to family night. my wife had a baby flotation device that the baby would strap in and was very comfortable for our 7 month old to enjoy the lazy river. Was told by park supervisors that it wasn't allowed and the baby had to wear a life vest that didn't fit and wouldn't keep her head from going under the water. Park staff was very rude and unprofessional. Definitely will never waste money at that place again. The fact that they purposely took the baby out of a safe device that didn't allow her head to go under water and insisted on something that made her head go under water is unacceptable. This place is a flipping rip off you'll die in the heat waiting for a drink and they sell all the tubes out but charge you an entrance fee so you can't ride anything. The company they get the tubes from obviously took a pay cut because all they he tubes are popping. Waiting over an hour and a half for a flipping snack. Don't take your kids here. read more

Thanks Melissa, but you may want to remind your staff that you close at 6pm, and not 5:30pm. As mentioned above, your team had rides blocked off at 5:30pm, yelling "Park is Closed." There were no long lines, and no events taking place later that day. Your staff simply wanted to get out of there and it was obvious. It's too bad you're so focused on your customers respecting your 6pm close time, but you do not respect our business enough to stay open during your advertised hours. I can completely understand closing 10-15 minutes early to get everyone out on time. But again, this was not the case. I sincerely hope you can get a handle on what's truly happening in your park. We had a long drive back home from a family vacation and decided to stop at this waterpark which was at are halfway point and let our little ones spread his legs, jump, and play around, get wet have some fun and take a nap the rest of the way home.... and it worked out perfectly! It was pretty small compared to one that we have in our Hometown, but it was a great 1st water park in order to introduce him to little slides and how to act appropriately and get him used to the idea of going to water park, so that when we take him to 1 that's closer to us and is a lot bigger, it won't be so overwhelming. After reading the reviews I went anyway and was pleasantly surprised. The water was clean, plenty of staff available to assist and most of them friendly and helpful. I like that they have slides you can go down that do not need a tube. This waterpark appeals to all ages. Babies can play in what seemed like a fun water area, daredevils have a few wild options and there are lots of basic fun slides. I did feel for the people that work there. Out in 100 degree heat all day. Watching people have fun. But having to tell idiots what not to do and make sure no one gets hurt. I think the waterpark is fairly priced. If you come after 3pm you get a big discount. And 3 hours is plenty of time to get on all of the slides. I would come back here again. My 11 year old had a blast. read more

Great fun and terrific value for a full-day of enjoyment for the kids. The ride offerings were for all different ages and levels of adventure. I even went on 4 of the slides! That said, the lines for most of the slides were very long (15-30 minute wait), although it was a popular August Saturday. The food was not great and unhealthy- even the chicken wrap had fried chicken, not grilled chicken. Plus, the food line was 20 minutes long, I also wish they offered more attractive shade options for the adults. The cabanas were $90(?), and the other shade options offered uncomfortable chairs. Who wants to sit in such an uncomfortable chair for 8 hours? That said, the park is close to I-5, very convenient. We do not live in the area , but have been here while passing through on road trips. It is always a refreshing stop. During the last three hours of operations , admission is half off. 1) We had a great time here. Park is a perfect size; lifeguards are attentive - especially in childrens' area. 2) I lost my diamond wedding band in the park when we visited a few weeks ago. They took my name and contact info, found it, called me, and even paid postage to send it to me. It would have been VERY easy to just take it, pawn it, and no one would've ever known the difference. The managers there are evidently very honest folks. Spoke with three people about this, and all of them really seemed to genuinely care. Customer service really matters these days. We LOVE coming to Water Works Park. We have traveled from Chico every year at least once for the last 5 years, skipping the larger Sacramento area parks. With younger kids, it's ideal because it's a smaller safer park where they can use the buddy system and go have a blast! We always pair up with friends and get a cabana because they are well maintained, budget friendly, and it a great home base for the kids to come check in. Today, we had a cabana server named Jeff. WaterWorks Park is disgusting. The water is cloudy and murky, there are gross things floating at the bottom of the pools, most of the chairs are broken, the bathrooms aren't fit for a dog, and the employees are extremely rude. UPDATE: I spent over $200 on season passes for the first time this year. I took my kids to the park today only to find out that the park was closed to the public. Apparently, they rented the park out to an entitled private party. My kids, who were dressed and ready for a day of play, were beyond disappointed. Try explaining to a 4 and 6 year old that other people were allowed inside but we had to go home. Spent the next 30 minutes wasting my time and gas driving home with crying kids. I have season passes! I should be allowed to use them whenever I want. Renting out the entire park during normal business hours hardly seems fair to the customers you are turning away, WHO HAVE ALREADY PAID! Had I known that they would do this, I never would've bought these passes and I will certainly never buy them again. Not good business. read more

I'm familiar with waterworks park. I stopped going there because they don't clean the facility well. Years later, I thought it might be better. Nope. Very filthy with actual poop on the steps to the slides you can look at all day bc nobody cleans it up. This place has had a problem cleaning up excrement for years. Now, during covid they still don't clean it up. I asked a friend that goes there a lot if this was a normal thing. They said they are used to seeing this. Gross. read more

After reading all the reviews we decided not to go and were going to aquatic center. Low and behold the aquatic center was closed! In the middle of the day! So we did not want to disappoint the kids so we went to water works in Redding, California. Contrary to the other reviews, the workers were kind, helpful and went out of their way to help! We did not try their food, but ALL parks have bad food. We didn't eat there. Not all tubes did you have to purchase! Only the double and triple. The kids had a great time and so did the adults! Great place to wear out the kids! Season pass is a must for the summers in Redding heat. Not 5 stars due to the price of renting tubes....I think this should be included. Renting an $8 tube then having to watch it like a hawk in order to get your $2 back is not very pleasant. The restrooms here are also a reason for the low stars....maybe a cleaning schedule would help? The new wave pool is awesome for the fact it makes the ride lines go away. I'm so happy with my experience here! As a first timer I was skeptical but optimistic after seeing other reviews. I was impressed! The staff were very efficient and I love how the park is set up. There's not a large selection of slides; however the lines move quickly and the slides can be enjoyed again every ride. It's worth it to rent a tube. When you find a table everyone is respectful of keeping their tubes to themselves. My only complaints is the bathrooms and lack of overall ventilation. The bathrooms weren't bad, but they just could be maintained more throughout the day. While it is nice having a compact park, it does get pretty tight around the park and the heat really does build up, especially around the tents. Just go to the park, you won't regret it!! read more

Overpriced and inconsistent rules. We bought a season pass this year, but I think next year we will just get one for the Aquatic center instead. I think for older kids it could be worth it, but not really for smaller ones. Also the way they check people in is inefficient and could easily be better organized/faster. With COVID-19 we expected the park to be sanitized this year at the very least. The prices have gotten ridiculous and the quality is extremely poor. The slides are falling apart, the wave pool and lazy river are freezing cold and dirty. The staff are rude teenagers that are poorly trained with bad attitudes. My son is small for his age and gets bullied by unsupervised children. If I could give them negative stars I would. read more
