A unique and interesting take on pizza. This pizza is served on what I call a "cracker crust"... Like thin crust pizza, but much crispier. The crust is a little tough and requires quite a bit of extra chewing, which I was not prepared for. Nevertheless, it was pretty good. I ordered the southern barbecue pizza without bacon. It included brisket, chicken, corn, red onions, and a drizzle of barbecue sauce. Unfortunately, the chicken was unseasoned. I think the pizza would have tasted would have tasted better with a little seasoning on the chicken. However, the star of my dinner was the Downeast Caramel Apple cider on tap. However good you think it sounds, it tastes SO much better than that. If you happen to be near this restaurant during the last few weeks of fall, you HAVE to try this. As a matter of fact, if you see this cider at ANY bar or restaurant you're at, you must try it. Absolutely amazing! My server did an incredible job being pretty much the only server on the floor in a mostly packed restaurant. The bartender was on the floor waiting tables as well but between the two of them, they did an incredible job. Delicious food! We visited waterstone while on a road trip to Virginia. It was perfect - great food, atmosphere and service. We started off with fried green tomatoes and requested for the jam on the side. It was fried to perfection, held its beading until we digged in, which is rare in fried green tomatoes. Mozzarella cheese was fresh and tasty too. We then got Greek pizza on a pesto base and LOVED it! Just the right amount of toppings and crust was so thin and crispy. 10/10 for Pizza. For our toddler we got nuggets and fries, and the portion that they gave was huge! I could tell they fried it fresh and breading had seasoning which made it tasty for a child meal. Fries were really good too. Child meal also came with a beverage (we chose apple juice) and ice-cream (this made our toddler sooo happy)!! Hello, Waterstone! We are here on Sunday evening Memorial Day weekend. Our poor waitress is working her a** off with NO help in sight. There is a waiter who is giving her minimal help, but she is clearly keeping this place afloat: If you are the manager, you should be ashamed to let one employee carry the load. When we first walked into the restaurant, the ambiance led us to believe this was an upscale eatery. The menu prices were reasonable. We debated pizza or entree dishes, and decided on the dishes. We ordered Spinach and Artichoke dip for an appetizer. Husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs, his favorite. I ordered chicken carbonara. The Spinach and Artichoke came out too hot to eat, but proved delicious when it cooled a little. When the entrees came out, my husband immediately dug in, but stopped after one bite. The noodles and meatballs were cold and felt like they had been in a refrigerator. The plate was hot and the sauce was hot. My carbonara was also cold. We informed the hostess after we could not get the attention of our busy waitress. They took the entrees back and said they would create fresh dishes. 20 minutes later, they brought the dishes to our table and they were no better. We only took one bite before deciding they also were not edible. We told the hostess that we would pay for them, but they were not edible. She did not charge us for them. As to every love story, this one ended like Romeo and Juliet, a tragedy. I will start with this, the pizza tasted pretty good, the place was clean, and our waitress was nice. But dear god, we have some stuff to talk about. First and foremost, we ordered 3 pizzas and got some water. ONE HOUR LATER our pizzas showed up and it wasn't even that busy. The pizza shown looked a little thrown together and the "toppings" portion was about the size of my hand...for $18. Like damn. They took the burnt pizza off of the bill, but herein lies the bad. Usually a manager will come on over and try to remedy the issue, but nope, it wasn't even talked over again nor was the excessive wait. This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant because we had a pleasant first experience. We came in through the hotel and we're seated quickly. Aubrey, our waitress, was very pleasant and provided excellent service. We ordered the toasted ravioli appetizer which was really good, and shared a Margherita pizza. The positives: They have parking. The cons: I have never had such a confusing experience at a restaurant in my life. First off, there were like 3 tables in the whole restaurant that were filled. It took a little bit for our server to get to us so we ordered our apps and pizzas at the same time along with our drinks. The pizzas came out a good 15 minutes before our appetizers did. And in the time, the server never came to check on us. Then the appetizers finally came out, the forgot the cheese with my pretzel. After another 5 minute wait we finally got the cheese. Except instead of Gouda cheese it was nacho cheese. Like the stuff that comes from a can. I'm not sure what the problem was because there was nobody there. We watched food sit in the window for 5-10 minutes before the servers would deliver it. They never gave us silverware or napkins either. I would suggest rethinking ever going here. I was in Lynchburg, VA this weekend and some friends and I decided to go out for late lunch on Feb. 7. So glad we ended up at WaterStone Pizza. Staff was friendly, also. They have taken favorites meatballs and pasta off the menu! Why? I cannot express how upset and disappointed I am with my reservation last week. The first thing that went wrong was I emailed to ask if we could push back our reservation as the graduation ceremony had been pushed back due to weather. I had booked the room out in February so I wanted to update the timing. However I did not get a response. As I am actively walking across the stage to get my diploma, the restaurant is calling me to ask where my party is. I get back to my seat and explain that I emailed asking for a later time to which I am told the person I had been communicating with no longer works there and her emails do not transfer to anyone so they did not know about my request. I have some grace with that however when four members of the party had been there for 20 minutes before the rest of the party arrived, and had yet to receive even a glass of water I knew it was going to be rough. We ordered 5 appetizers and we got 3 of them. Drinks took 30 minutes to be brought up and that was after our waiter informed us they were out of 3/5 of their speciality cocktails. We go to order food only to be told they are out of a handful of items including the ones we booked the reservation to get. As if this could not get worse, one of the waiters tripped my aunt. She went flying on the ground and the waiter did not even pick up the glass she was carrying. The only reason she got up was to get a glass of iced tea as they had left us a pitched to pour our own drinks out of. We asked to speak to the manager and no manager came. Luckily my aunt is okay, but with the amount of ice and glass that flew due to her fall someone could have gotten hurt and no one seemed to care. Our food came out in shifts. I understand with a party so large it is hard to balance the timing however 3 people were completely done with their meals before the remaining 9 of us had even gotten our plates. The food also isn't what is used to be. And being that we were the only family of color, and sat totally out of the way, didn't make us feel great either. New menu or not, we will not be returning. I realized that the dishes that we were coming to enjoy were no longer on the menu. I mentioned it to the waitress and she said that the menu online must've been an old menu. She also mentioned that it wasn't her fault! We went ahead and ordered. The salad was great, but the pizzas were dry and tasteless. The crust reminded me of a saltine cracker. It was hard and crunchy. We like thin crust pizzas, but these were like something you would get at a gas station. We were quite disappointed and will not go back. read more

Honestly when my friend recommended this place to me I was a bit taken aback at the asking price for personal pizza. You only see these prices in two places, people who think their pizza is better than it actually is, or people who's pizza is actually worth it. No in between. Well I'm here to say that this place is easily the latter. The pizza here is worth every penny and each pizza offers something unique and different that you probably can't find in other commercial pizza establishments. First off the crust is shatteringly crispy. Usually I wouldn't like this sort of thing but Waterstone makes it something to look forward too. It gives a crisp bite to a pizza that otherwise would have no texture difference. Hell, it convinced me to get a Greek pizza and eat it all and I'm not honestly fond of anything on said pizza. Despite those trivial details, it was made well and was delicious. The fig pizza is something probably most people have yet to try and I would highly recommend it as well. The Thai pizza comes with spicy chili sauce and peanuts so beware if you have any nut allergies or spice intolerance! Something that is overlooked I think is the pasta here. Despite its namesake, Waterstone does its pasta surprisingly well. The spaghetti here is probably among the best pasta I've had in Lynchburg. It has that bite to it so it tastes fresh and house made. The meatballs were clean, free of any off tastes and tasted like they were fried in the pan before added to the dish as they should be. The only comment I have is that they were a tad salty but so be it. The service was attentive to our needs although it became a little absent as the night got busy but what can you do? At the end of the day, I think Waterstone seeks out to be an upscale Lynchburg pizza establishment and succeeds in doing so with leaps and bounds. I'll be eager to come back again! read more

Don and I had a nice, late dinner at Waterstone Pizza tonight with Tim and his family. I always enjoy any chance to get to see Rachel. We hadn't seen her since her birthday party. I got a kick out of Rachel enjoying the Calamari I ordered as an appetizer. Tim likes calamari too. She also liked drawing with the crayons and paper the sweet waitress brought her. She had a few bites of pizza too. The waitress even brought her a free, small dish of vanilla ice cream. Don and I shared a pizza. I had a small slice of Tim's BBQ Chicken Pizza. It was good. We've enjoyed Waterstone Pizza for quite some time. On this occasion, I chose the Lemon Garlic Hummus, Figaligious Pizza, and Cannoli Dip. Hummus: good enough for a meal and healthy. I was pleased to see my 3 year old try it (and my picky husband) Pizza: one of their best pies and the waitresses favorite. Reminded me of a selection from one of my favorite pizza joints, Dr. Hos in North Garden. You can taste all the components and they really harmonize. Cannoli Dip: really a MUST try. A deconstructed dessert that hits 5 stars--bits of waffle cone dipped in cannoli whip with strawberry garnish I also highly recommend the Thai and Greek pies. read more
