This was a cool place to grab a couple drinks. The atmosphere is pretty awesome! You are on the top floor of this apartment complex overlooking railroad tracks and James River. It's all outside with covered places to sit. Waitress was good and attentive. Drinks were mediocre. They have appetizer menu if you coke for food. The prices are very reasonable. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance with a beautiful covered outside deck with heaters and a firepit area with couches as well as firepit table and counter area with stools facing the James River. The inside is very nice clean areas as well their restrooms. We were greeting upon entering and had attentive and friendly service. The food menu was very varied and even had acceptable few choices for vegans. Now the beverage menu you can expect high prices unless it's a special day. Security guard in the parking lot, put his hands on my group. Told us we couldn't come up to the rooftop bar because we had beers in our hands from down at the riverfront. Even though we finished them and threw them in the trashcan. He was belligerent, rude and was name-calling like a tough guy. When he was clearly not. Little guy with tattoos. POS. The waitress was sweet, but a little slow probably due to the crowd. They had a cigar table selling cigars outside which caused a lot of heavy scented smoking everywhere. There's not a lot of rooftop dining options here in Lynchburg, but No 7 fits the bill and has great views with decent food and drink. I appreciate how they do have vegetarian options on the menu, like the Impossible burger and the Buratta Caprese (my favorite). The caprese dish is a must order: it tastes so fresh and delicious! We were not a huge fan of the spinach and artichoke dip however, it lacked flavor and I think it would've been better served with some bread instead of chips. They have a nice selection of drinks, and they can make even what is not on the menu. I had a strawberry margarita which was pretty good. I really wanted to love this place. Really cool spot in Lynchburg overlooking the river. Renovations looked great with awesome wallcoverings. But the experience was overall awful. There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant when we walked in for brunch around 1pm, so we thought it would be a rather quick brunch. I waited over 20 mins to get a regular Bloody Mary. I wanted to order the salmon Benedict, but the server told me twice that he had to check with the kitchen since the salmon was still thawing. Guess they weren't ready for their brunch that day. After we ordered, we waited 40 mins for our food. Still, only two other tables were in the restaurant, maybe 20 ppl total. We finally received our entrees, well everyone except for me. He said they were trying to poach the eggs... 10 mins later my meal comes out without eggs on it. I told the server I didn't even want the story. Everyone was done eating at that point and my meal still wasn't right. You would think that the manager would have taken at least my meal off the bill. we didn't ask for it, but it would have been the right thing to do. All he took off was one beer out of the 8 drinks we ordered. The owner of this restaurant needs to be present and aware of what is going on at their establishment. 7RB is a bit difficult to locate, as it is not well signed. It helps also be on the lookout for Fratelli. Definitely a nice view, and it helps to be northern facing, and partially covered. FOH Team are very friendly, but "hustle" isn't in their DNA. The food menu is a bit limited, but one shouldn't have an issue finding a delicious choice. Prices for food are reasonable, but the mixed drinks are high considering their smaller pour. Not the most clean, and the daily wear & tear has taken its toll over the few years that it's been open. Definitely make it a stop for your out of town guests, but be prepared to keep your expectations modest. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. If you're interested in more than just a mediocre photo op, don't waste your time or money. Food - cheap. We got an array of menu items and was extremely disappointed. The Italian sandwich is filled with the cheapest lunch meat one can find, the steak melt was so tough you will grow new muscles trying to chew it, and the chicken sandwich is primarily breading with no flavor. If you must order something, order the burger. Just not the impossible one, because it'll be served dry. Drinks - like dive bars? You'll feel like you're in one because the bartenders, and servers will give you glasses with kiss marks still on them. Maybe this was missed in training, but just dunking glassware in sinks will not remove many lipsticks. Service - Needs training. Everyone was friendly, but also unorganized. The waiter was more focused chatting at the host stand than to ensure food items weren't forgotten, drinks just sitting at the bar service window not being served, and also another server tried to clear the entire table before entrees were served. Cleanliness - when spending $300+ on a meal I don't expect to be sharing a meal with Charlotte the spider. Lynchburg is growing with trendy eating establishments. Relying on a gimmick is not going to cut it. My advice to the owners - start from scratch. I am very happy we decided to check it out before doing a date night here, we sat for 15 min before going to the bar to order. the bartender had said sorry we have been busy...in the meantime 4 bartender/servers were talking behind the bar. 10 minutes later we got our drinks delivered. all the outdoor spots had cups and dishes at them so we politely moved enough for two spots. by the time we left not one dish at all the tables were picked up. My friends and I decided to try this place out for our first Friendsgiving. We didn't know our night would be cut short from the horrible service that we received. Two of us ordered the chicken salad and were very disappointed to see that we received a skimpy wedge salad. It did not state that it was a wedge salad on the menu. Not only was it the fact it was a wedge salad but the little bit of chicken that was given, was overcooked. We both asked to order something else. The manager JALEN refused to honor our request. When we informed him that we were not pleased with his decision to not allow us to place another order in place of what we ordered he asked if we wanted to speak to the owner. He then said he would call the owner down. We waited for about 30 minutes for the owner to arrive to be told that he decided against contacting him. He asked us what is the reason we did not want the salad. We informed him that we were not aware that it would be wedge salad and the portion. He then asked if we thought cutting up the salad would change the taste of it. He was extremely condescending. Flabbergasted that they'd turn away so many customers because the BRIDE of the wedding party didn't have her wallet while everyone else was waiting upstairs. Left her waiting downstairs in her wedding dress while the others in the party who arrived 30 min earlier were upstairs and not even IDed upon entry. The staff and manager were completely inflexible in coming up with solutions to make this awful experience something she didn't have to remember on her wedding night. No cooperation in giving her a wrist band to say she didn't have ID on - she didn't even need to have drinks-just wanted to spend time with family and friends. Also funny to mention the fact that she's 27 and the entire wedding party was there the night before after the rehearsal dinner. I was greeted as soon as I stepped off the elevator, seated in the patio area with a view of the James River in Downtown Lynchburg, and it was breathtaking. Even though this is listed as a Bar, it has a comfortable feeling. The music was not blasting and the floors and the restrooms were clean. I have usually had amazing experiences at this business. I was excited to go here for a friend's birthday and was extremely disappointed in the service. We arrived and were not greeted by the server for 15 minutes. After that, we did not receive our first drink for 20 minutes. We then ordered an appetizer and it came out 30 minutes later. The appetizer was absolutely horrible and we ate three bites before deciding we could not eat anymore. We waited and waited to let the server know that we were not happy with the dish and see if we could switch it for something. I also was planning on getting another drink. The server did not come back until she brought our checks, about 45 minutes later. My boyfriend told her about the appetizer (the sushi smash) and she said they could not take it off the bill since we had ate some of it. I'm confused how we are supposed to not taste a dish to know that it is horrible. She also turned the heaters on above us in 67 degree weather and said to let her know if we wanted her to turn it off. She never came back for us to ask her to turn it off and people in our group had to leave the table due to how hot it was.
