We researched a bit and saw that Snallygasters was nearby had good reviews and the food pics looked good so we checked it out. Atmosphere was cozy with interesting decor and a lively crowd of customers in almost a full house as this was Sunday night. It took a little time to be seated and have our order placed but again they were busy so when our Waitress Piper came she was more than accommodating, super friendly and kind to us which made it all good. She guided us through the specials and since we were new to the restaurant steered is to some good choices. Our meals arrived hot fresh and delectable as this was fine cuisine and not your ordinary restaurant fare. We had a shrimp and chorizo dish and also a chicken and vegetable dish which both looked amazing and tasted even better. We were very pleasantly surprised and devoured both our entrees!! Lol! We even ordered dessert to go as we saw another table served a huge piece of ny cheesecake and being native New Yorkers on vacation we thought how appropo as we'll bring it to our room and enjoy as it was getting near there closing time (9pm.) We will definitely be back after enjoying so thoroughly our first picks as we are intrigued to see how the other dishes are. Our only small complaint would be the dessert we brought back to the room was a very small tiny slice and not like the one we saw in the restaurant being served to the table behind us and for ten bucks we were disappointed at its size even though it tasted great. Our waitress Piper made our evening enjoyable being so helpful and nice and we really appreciate that as the server can make or break your meal. Last thought many dogs allowed in restaurant. ( 3 at the time of our dinner.) We love dogs and we're petting the one nearest to us as it kept walking over to my wife as she was seated awaiting our order however it was inconvenient navigating the dining floor with so many pets about and eating with them in such close proximity was a turn off I will not lie and these were not service animals. Over all we really enjoyed Snallygasters as the service of Piper was great and the cusine superb and the atmosphere lively and clean. A bigger piece of dessert and more restrained pets would be an improvement in our opinion. Still all in all we give five stars and highly recommend. We will be back soon.

My husband was impressed by the size of his serving of brussel sprouts and I was surprised by the size and color presentation on my brie plate: crusty bread, green grapes, red apply slices, dark brown nuts, orange dried apricots, and of course, baked brie cheese. It was refreshing to see such diversity among the staff and patrons. That being said, the food was delicious! I've noticed that the menu has grown since its initial opening (and I'm still making my way through the many options), but at this point I highly recommend both the curry & brown stew chicken! If you're looking for something a bit lighter, the taco salad is also a great option. This is a family-owned business, and you'll definitely realize this by the hospitable atmosphere. I'll certainly be back during my next visit to Winchester!

But Normandy lodge with the bear head carpet. Overall the food..for bar food it was a disappointment. Not bad but just not good. The wings okay, the blue cheese weak, the fires pass the test but barely. You can drive about 5-10 minutes and get better options and see some of the historic sites in the area. That's what I recommend. Now I wouldn't say pass them by, just don't expect a top 10 meal from Alstadts, they will fill you up and that is all.

I made a reservation a month in advance (no one had reserved a table as of yet) for 12 people for my parent's 50th anniversary. Something was miscommunicated and they ended up booking other parties after me but I'm the one who was cancelled! On top of that they tried to put our poor waitress in the middle of it and by having her call me, instead of the managers calling me. This all 2 weeks before the event. When I tried to call them ALL the managers were in a meeting and said they'd call me back right away. Never received a phone call. Why didn't they cancel the other party that was booked after me, instead of me? Guess I'll never know and shame on them for hiding behind that poor girl! I won't be giving them my money and I certainly will make sure everyone I know doesn't either! Now I'm left scrambling to find a decent facility for a once in a lifetime event.

The restaurant is an auxiliary of Oakland United Methodist Church, and its profits are donated to the ministries of the church. We are committed to making a difference in our community and regularly assist with meeting community needs." Every Friday night they have a buffet with Prime Rib for $13.95 and other menu items. We have NOT found any restaurants in Martinsburg that have Prime Rib on the menu. This was a pleasant discovery. The link also includes a link to menu items, and they also have take-out, which seems to be brisk. We were seated in an open area (church foyer), and there are a few other smaller rooms, so they can accommodate groups with reservations in separate rooms that offer privacy. This is a "church setting," but it is run like a nice higher end restaurant. We were greeted immediately, and everything was 5-star to the time we left. Table cloths and nice background music sets the stage. The prime rib was done exactly as requested (rare) and they have all the various cuts available--someone nearby had a well-done end cut. They also have a regular menu from which you can order if you don't want to indulge in the buffet. We will definitely make this a regular destination, and it will also be a place to take our out-of-town visitors, too.

We ordered the C&O Canal Chicken sandwich (which we split) and paid the $2 up charge for sweet potato fries. The chicken breast was not only dry but it was half the size of the bun it was served on. The food came out rather quickly to the point that my thought was that the food was pre-cooked and was sitting under a heat lamp. The fries were soggy to the point that my lady friend did not even finish her share of them. Which is EXTREMELY unusual as she LOVES sweet potato fries! We sat outside and the ambiance is nice. The only saving grace was our server Clarence provided friendly and efficient service and the Margarita was fairly tasty. As I stated: We must have hit them on an "OFF" day based on the reviews of others. We will NOT be returning.
