This was our first stay at Waters Edge condos and it may be the last stay as well. The price we paid here was about the same for a one bedroom that we have paid for two bedrooms. The bedroom is on the street side of the building and was not large enough for any bed larger than a queen. The condo was clean and we did not have any major problems. They have two elevators which worked OK when we needed to move up and down. We had heard about two other buildings had broken ones from people renting on the tenth floor. read more

We have been very pleased with our stay here. The broken elevator is now working and they are replacing the other elevator in time for the busy season to start. The staff who is cleaning, both night and day shift work diligently to keep everything clean. The pool and spa areas are wonderful and the work they put into the new decking after Hurricane Ian is absolutely beautiful. When booking anywhere I stay, I make sure to find a condo that is up to date and well maintained by the owner. We are pleased with our long stay in 407 and also with the resort itself. We look forward to staying many winters here in South Carolina. read more

Condo was ok, furniture was clean so that's a plus. Cleaning staff put tape on toilet saying it was sanitized, but had some hair on it, both toilets. Nice view. Building looks very old. If you want to rent a condo here, I suggest you do it through VRBO. I reserved through the management company directly because this was very last minute, and nothing was left available elsewhere. On that note, not sure if it's the management or individual owners decisions, but I've never heard of a resort where they leave you only two extra rolls of toilet paper, and then you have to go buy your own (which I was not told until I got there). Also, no hand soap in the bathrooms, not even dish soap. Had to go shopping in order to go to the bathroom! Go to the pool and was told there are no pool towels. Seriously?? A resort? So not only did I have to go shopping, but had to do laundry on my short vacation of 4 days! Also on the website, they claim to have a cafe. Well there is none! You want coffee, have to go out and get it, or again buy your own stuff. Also, too many kids in the hot tub. read more

We have been staying at Water's Edge for about 10 years. We have loved staying here however this year's stay was a great time BUT the unit we stayed in was terrible. Unit 412 needs a major upgrade of many things. Bed in master bedroom was terrible, you sank to the middle and had to hold on to the edge of the mattress to pull yourself out of bed. Not enough utensils for a large group unless you used salad forks. Good thing we brought some plastic utensils as we had to use these just to have enough dinner forks most times. Stove burners were broken and did not have a flat burner. Fire alarm went off one evening and we knew nothing about it as nothing went off in our room. One barstool broken and the other was so bad we would not even put a small adult or child on it. Couches are shot and need replaced you sink to the middle and very hard to get up. Recliner felt like you had a board in your back. Laundry bifold doors broke on our last night there but were ready to go when we first arrived. Only a 4 cup coffee maker for a 3 bedroom condo unit. We went and bought a new one just to have enough coffee for all. Crock for crock pot was there but not the heating element. Regular coffee maker was there with no carafe. It was with in a lower cabinet we called where appliances go to die. A rug runner when you coming into the unit would nice as the one currently moves around and we almost fell a few times as this one slips around. Not all lamps worked and not enough lighting in the kitchen over the counters as they did not all work. The worst part of this unit is the black mold that was around the AC vents that were there upon arrival. We reported these items to the office and were told the owner was contacted and has not responded. We will be back to Water's Edge next year but will not stay in this unit again. read more

I would not recommend this place. The grounds were gross. Clumps of hair and dirty band-aids floating in the pool. The pool water even had a bad smell to it (did not smell like a clean chlorine smell). The pool deck is dirty and when brick area was wet, it was slimy where water puddles and was green and gross. They have a dark brown trex decking out by pool that is scorching hot it could literally blister your feet. The brick would have been better left alone underneath! Roof shingles falling off over the walkway from indoor pool area to the beach. No one cleaned the pool area or netted the pool, Birds were sitting on the pool steps taking baths, there was bird poop and feathers in the pool! A lady fell on pool deck stepping down while we were. When the elevator was not working we had to use stairwell and it smelled so bad like urine, I was literally gagging! The little gift shop was never open. When you walk through their little bar and grill, it smells gross like stale dirty clothes, I would never eat anything from there!!! Everything is old, rusty, dirty and tired. When you walk off elevator to the lower floor parking garage, there is a big bench where all the smokers sit so you have to walk through big plumes of smoke or if they are no smokers there, it smells so bad like an old dirty ashtray! Why would they not just have people walk outside.... it was literally 20 feet away? So gross. Our condo was renovated and nice, and was a non-smoking unit, but ventilation system was so bad that whenever the air-conditioner kicked on, you could smell cigarette smoke coming through the vents... probably from unit next door. The whole building is crusty and rusty and needs to be flattened and a new condo building built. It was gross!!!!! We almost didn't stay as soon as pulled up to the building for the first time.. if it wasn't for our condo being nice, we would have left! Worst place by far I've stayed. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here at the Water's Edge Resort. Our condo overlooked the ocean and the view was exquisite. For you clean freaks like me, the kitchen, 2 bathrooms, bed linens were all super nice & clean & it even came equipt with a washer/dryer (which i loved having!). The resort was nice, the parking garage is awful but they truly do make it convenient if you need anything with a small general store on site. They are a little too strict about the pool. You are required to wear a wrist band while at the pool verifying you are staying at the resort, cool, fine, I understand but the security guards ask to see it every 5 minutes. Our room was ok needing some updates but suitable for our needs. The vacuum broke and started smoking and theHVAC duct work had severe condensation dripping in the washer/dryer. The price was good and the kids had a great time so that's all that matters. read more

Best Condo for Non-Disclosure and Switch & Bate Award! I would not recommend this property to anyone for the simple fact that their elevator has not been working properly since September 2018 according to the permanent residents, the elevator technician and several maintenance men on-site who constantly had too rescue people from the same! We booked a condo several months ahead of the Memorial Day weekend. There was absolutely no disclosure that their elevators were not working properly which could pose a hindrance to anyone in our party that was handicapped. Furthermore, the property's management, desk clerks and HOA's byline "there is nothing we can do" is atrocious given that several permanent residents and guests are handicapped and unable to walk up or down multiple flights of stairs in 100 degree heat, thus being held hostage on high rise floors (there are 15 floors). Water'sEdge is not only in violation of their HOA condominium paperwork, they are also in violation of federal, state, county and veterans codes and ordinances. It makes one wonder who is being paid off to allow this atrocity to continue. Not only was the elevator issues non-disclosed, but the check in and check out times advertised on multiple websites as well on placards in the rooms were not honored. The condo we stayed in was certainly not worth the price we paid. The patio doors were in disrepair missing handles, fogged windows preventing one from seeing out, ceilings were damaged and crumbling (can you say lead paint!), multiple light fixtures did not work, towel racks were missing, etc. The pools had ducks swimming in them and were seriously over-chlorinated. One had only to walk by either of the pools to end up with burning eyes from the chlorine. This place was truly a shock to us upon arrival. I never waste my time to write reviews like this but felt that if I can spare one person the nightmare we experienced at this place then it would be worth it. You simply cannot believe anything you're told at WatersEdge because, by their own admissions, they do not care. PLEASE, go somewhere else and don't waste your money on this place. read more

Water's Edge is way overdue for a renovation/updating project. Very 1970's decor. Small bedrooms and bathrooms. Property could be maintained better as well. We stayed in 1511, I'm assuming all units are independently own and could look differently inside. Location is great and quiet end of the beach. Unit 1102 is neat and clean for the most part, but it needs work and has a general grungy feel to it. The shower handle in one bathroom is totally detached from the shower and the commode handle is hanging and does not work half the time. The rugs in the living area and on the balcony are both so terribly soiled they should be tossed out. The TV in in one bedroom does not work. The WiFi connection is not strong and results in constant buffering. Also, they charged us an additional $1,407 in error. The desk clerk was of no help in resolving the matter so we had to call the credit card company to get the charged reversed. I would not stay here again. read more

My family has stayed here twice. The last time we stayed June 2019 - the elevators stayed broken. The only other thing is that the resort makes each person wear a wristband for the pool (some days they didn't even check, just a warning). We really enjoyed staying here. It's a nice place and very close to downtown garden city. They even have a store and a restaurant on the bottom floor. read more

The property manager Richard Gary is unbearably rude, unaccommodating, and their fitness center takes you back to the 70's. That being said, the kind lady at the front desk was very sweet and understanding. Close proximity to the beach, 3/5 stars for the cool pool, and LOVELY convenience store clerk. read more

The condo that we had was very outdated, the couches had stains on them, the floor was filthy. The kitchen was nice. The bathrooms had dead spiders and other dead insects on the floors. The shower was dirty. I wouldn't go back here unless that made some major upgrades. read more

Room is outdated, but clean. Elevators have a horrible Mildew Smell - which makes you wonder if you are breathing in Mold Stairwells are not much better. Price - You will be surprised, especially if you made your reservation over the phone. Room Price and Taxes are given. When you receive your Bill you find their is a SUBSTANTIAL ADMIN Fee, Extended Stay Linen Fee [they are no satin sheets either] Property Manager Philosophy - It is the Customer's responsibility to query when making a Reservation if there any other fees. Kind of a Don't Ask, Don't Tell approach. If you scour their Website it is true their FEES referenced towards the bottom of the drop down from Rental Policies - Not something most Customers would do... wait a minute maybe that is why they organize their website that way. My daughter and I stayed at Waters Edge Resort.When we walked into condo We said wow nice.Then I looked at bathrooms ,they were filthy .They said they having cleaning service.There was feces on the toliet,we bought spay bottles of clorox and cleaned the bathrooms.The counters were filthy,How sad we felt.The on;ly thing was good was the Ocean View!!!And one more thing that freaked us out we we sitting watching television and A HUGE ROACH went running by I got up off couch and stepped on it.Thatb was our second last day left. I never leave reviews but I can't believe that a place I have stayed for the last six years would have treated us the way the manager of this place did today. The girl that assisted me at the front desk was very helpful and respectful but after her manager got involved and took me behind closed doors and got in my face and stated that I called him a liar I will never stay at this place again. I feel if you spend your hard earned money to stay at a place and then when you try to talk to someone in charge about an issue you are having can't talk to you without a complete attitude and hasn't been trained to deal with customers or the employees that work for him doesn't need to be running a business. I would never disrespect someone the way I was disrespected so if you are thinking about staying here I would go somewhere else but if you do stay here and have an issue be prepared to deal with a disrespectful manager named Mike with a little dog in his office because he will take you behind closed doors so no one else can be witness to him be completely disrespectful and downgrading to you. I feel like I was discriminated against for the issue I was having and trying to get a resolution to just because of what I was doing at Myrtle Beach at this time for an event I was attending. read more

Rented condo 1011 - 2 bd/2ba unit. First let me say the resort is nice compared to the others on the beach - it has a indoor/outdoor pool, spa, little store, bar and free lounge chairs on deck as well as convenient guarded beach entrance off deck. Parking is also in a safe attached garage although parking on the street is easy and safe as well. It is a little older but well maintained. Our particular unit was furnished in beach attire and but had nice upgraded touches - examples: nicer furniture in master bd, nice bamboo master mattress, washer and dryer in unit, 3 tvs, tiled bathrooms/floors, glass top kitchen table. It is also a 15 min stroll to the pier (it's a free pier also) that has live music in evenings, and pier shops. And is 3/4 a mile from rt 17 where all the big box stores, driving access to other nearby sites are. If we come again on our adventures to Myrtle we won't even look around we will stay here again. With kids a condo is a must and this place was just so convenient and well priced vs the nearby options and need I say the beach is like no other around here....I give 3 stars vs 5 because our truck wouldn't fit in garage (standard f150), and because our unit bad the unit below were having plumbing issues and I told the maintenance people my kids were napping and to be quit if I authorized work.....well they were noisy as hell and it pissed me off that they asked them blew me off....be respectful people read more
