Once we got our new dog Seamus we did our research about a vet that had a great reputation and…read moreclose to our home. We are so happy we chose Riverstone. Dr.'s Mickie and Shannon are wonderful as well as Jan and Laurie at the front desk. The Vet Techs are kind and patient especially with a skiddish dog like our Seamus... Prices are reasonable which is a plus!! The hours are great especially for working families.

I am deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Riverstone Animal Hospital, entirely due to…read morethe office manager's passive-aggressive attitude. My cat had a surgical appointment scheduled for 8:00 AM. I arrived five minutes early at 7:55 AM and had to knock on the door to get the office staff's attention. The office manager opened the door, but instead of welcoming us, she glibly stated that the office did not open until 8:00 AM, and she was conducting a staff meeting. She then shut the door, locked it and disappeared into a back office. I was left to stand outside on the sidewalk with my stressed cat in a carrier until their meeting finally concluded at 8:04 AM. It was incredibly frustrating that the office staff would schedule a surgical appointment at a time they knew they could not or would not keep. Beyond the logistical failure, the lack of basic empathy and common courtesy was appalling. The decent, human thing to do would have been to let me wait inside the lobby with my cat while she finished her meeting. Leaving a client and a nervous pet locked out on the sidewalk is unacceptable. A veterinary office should be a place of empathy, but this Office Manager makes it a toxic environment. Even though it is a longer drive, I have returned to Bellson Animal Hospital in Columbia, IL.

Patty the "full service" pet groomer is wonderful! I am fostering a cat for the Cat Network who,…read morebecause of PTSD from abuse, can be reactive to sudden, unexpected issues. He is a domestic long-hair with a solid coat of mats on his underside. There was no way I could get those out myself. I had found out about a pet hospital in St Charles MO that offered sedated grooming. They were pretty expensive as well as being a long, stressful drive for him. I knew Mon-Clair offered grooming & gave them a call to ask if they would sedate him. Yes! They could do sedated grooming on Merlin. His appointment was a week ago. He and I are SO pleased with the outcome! The grooming included claw clipping & ear cleaning. She offered teeth brushing for an extra $8, since he would already be sedated. Of course, I took her up on that. With everything I had been quoted when I made the appointment, I thought it would be around $200. It came out to $164 & some change. Woo-hoooo! Merlin is a MUCH happier cat. AND! the icing on the cake? Dr Harres actually called & let me know how everything went. What a pleasant surprise! I haven't talked to a vet at my usual clinic in 15 years. I may be switching all my cats over to Mon-Clair. One note -- I've never had a cat groomed before, so I didn't realize that they spray them with perfume. If that's something you don't care for, be sure to let her know when you take your cat in. Other than that, it was an amazing experience for both me & Merlin. (By the way, Merlin is available for adoption.)

The prices are incredibly reasonable, but more than that, the quality of care is superb. The facility is clean and up-to-date, and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. I would take my pets to any of the three veterinarians, although currently I use Dr. Carr. She's incredibly patient, both with me and my cat, and is always happy to answer my questions and explain what she's doing. Dr. Ryerson spent a lot of time helping my family find an appropriate diet for some of our older cats, and Dr. Clinebell was willing to make a housecall when my grandmother's cats needed to be put down and she wanted their last minutes to be at home. Bellson, to me, is a clinic that is out to help you better care for your animals, not to gouge your wallet. I won't take my pets anywhere else, even though I now have to travel from Missouri for appointments.

They told us she was going to call our regular vet who is on vacation to verify this. They never did and ended up giving our dog a second rabies shot which caused issues and could have killed her. They overcharge for everything.Take your pets to Mon Clair in Millstadt instead!!
